Mandolin Orange - “Silver Dagger” (Traditional)
Вставка

- Andrew and Emily are the duo behind Yep Roc Records’ own Mandolin Orange. Given the chance to film these talented artists in front of the Gyre structure in the North Carolina Museum of Art’s sculpture garden, it creates a scenario where we are capturing art created by artists in front of one of the Triangle’s most distinguishable outdoor art exhibits. If that isn’t meta, then maybe three songs and a cover with beautiful harmonies, acoustic guitar, and mandolin from the duo will convince you otherwise.
Consider this performance a warm-up for the NCMA’s Summer Concert Series with Mandolin Orange on Saturday July 22nd.
Sit back, grab a cold beverage of your choice and enjoy Mandolin Orange performing their songs in the July summer heat, “Big Men In The Sky”, “Echo”, and ”Wildfire”, along with a lovely cover of “Silver Dagger”.

Brings those strange tears that come from things too beautiful to bear.
A fan for life. They've become a go-to duo for me, no matter the time, place, or emotional state....
The best version of a great song! Thanks, MO!
Love this song what track is this?
Who ever mixed this did an incredible job.
Marvellous "mandolining" if there is such a word. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
picking
Superb music, can’t enthuse enough about this rendition of a classic.
Beautiful, I so love you guys, haven't heard a song by you that I wouldn't want to hear a 100 more time I. Thanks
Admittedly I'm more than a bit sympathetic to these two, but it seems that they just keep getting better and better, so naturally. And, great hat, Emily.
They are at the peak of their game... every year, with each passing year!😊
I've only discovered them this year, now I can't get enough. Fantastic sounds and great lyrics
Another great English ballad played in impeccable style.
Well done and thank you Andrew and Emily.
You folks absolutely OWN this version I can’t get enough of it. I play it all night on my phone in loop. Really I’m hooked on it the way you two play together is beyond amazing. lol I’ve actually picked up a mandolin and with the intent of just playing around with you guys. Beginner level tho I’m just that impressed with you two And the way you play the guitar is so intriguing I love the rhythm and the accents you play. Wish you would be around Arizona I’d be there. Billy
Blown away! The strings tug at my heart and her voice is so nostalgic for me somehow even though I'm hearing it for the first time. I'll be a repeat listener for certain! Amazing work!
Love love love
I love that they keep doing traditional music. Fine musicians. Hope to see you in person one day!!
Beautiful string-work!
There's just something magical about a mandolin and acoustic guitar..
It warms my heart to see the young generation carry on the traditions. Wonderful version. I must admit I'm still a tad partial to Joan Baez's version but that's pretty darned good company.
These two could stand right there, do 12 songs and have an album. Emily is a very good guitar player
Have you ever heart how she plays the fiddle?
These two just keep getting better and better. What talent. Please come close to Tulsa. I'll be there.
beyond description. seriously. i dig every song they do.
Love these two. Such beautiful music.
Really glad I found them about 3 weeks ago.
Mandolin Orange is a very talented and likable Musical group that should do quite well in the music industry. God bless mandolin orange and all listeners from Patrick

Superb version of this song
This is wonderful. It reminds me of the 1960s, a time so long ago.
20 haters are smoking that hard crack rock.....these two are geniuses
i love these guys so much.
gene clark would have been so happy to know that these guys have chosen this beautiful song
I love all the versions of this song! Cant decide if I like this or the Dave Van Ronk version more,, they are sooo different.
Well I had to go and listen to multiple versions, I have to say with out a doubt
The Best Version of all
Brilliant!! 👍🏻
Wonderful song, beautifully played and sung. Where's that replay button?
That is lot of sound coming from two musical instruments plus vocal of course.
OMG Fantastic what a terrific voice and you look Spectacular 🦋
Very beautiful cover!!!

Musica e interpreti semplicemente diliziosi

Fantastic!
Wow...
LOVE THE SONG
Keep playing this over and over. Just brilliant.
Damn! This is so good!
Looks like Emily got a new dread.
Why has the lady stopped singing.......wonderful.
I like this version , it's even better than the one Joan Baez did back in the 70's
Which mic do they use for the mando? I need to buy one..... but till now I do not know what kind of external mic I really need.
i do not know2 the brand they are using but that is a condencer mic .. Sure is a great mic brand you will need a preamp for a condencer mic to work
the condenser mic is the top center one the lower 2 are instrument mic's i know sure's instrument mic is a 58 high end is SM58 more affordable is pg58 for live vocals a 57 but honestly, the condenser mic is what studios use and there are other great brands other then sure ... if you mandolin has a undersadle pickup u can use it along with a preamp and eq to get a great recording .. the idea when mixing the eq is to recreate the acoustic sound .. starting with all sliders at 0 .. if u have a mixer set the gain so the clip light starts to blink at your loudest parts .. do short test recordings adjusting volumes to get the loudest recording possibile without distortion .. when u master the recording bringing volume down is simple ..adding volume adds hiss or white noise ... im not a expert ,but did do samples in a band for 8 years , samplers are electronic recorders .. i also have played mandolin for the last 2 years , and have experience mixing live sound
like a young cash and carter ... think about it
Does 1+1= 1
No. But in this case yes.
Really, jogger? Could you not see that they're filming? Dang it, lady.
i like how she looks kinda pissed off while singing...
