The lesson Joy learned last time was just about how every emotion mattered. She didn’t learn the same about memories since she’d seen many being tossed into that pit where they all fade. It’s something people do, they force rough memories to the back of the mind, especially those that would make them cringe or hurt their confidence. Those guys were in the first movie, the console keeps being expanded as Riley develops. As a baby, it was a single button. Then it expanded as more emotions came in. Then, just before hitting puberty, the next expansion and then finally (for the time being), the one put in once she hit puberty.
Not really a kids movie, no. None of these animated movies by Pixar and DreamWorks are to be honest, they are way too deep, intelligent, and well made to dismiss them as being mere kids movies. Animated does not mean just for kids. A lot of these movies have jokes and references that will go straight over the heads of most kids, and they will need an adult to explain it to them, sure, you can watch them as a kid, and laugh yourself silly over some scenes and characters, but you won't get the full experience until you watch them as an adult. Some of these movies are among my favorite movies ever, animated or not. And we can all relate to Riley, no matter how old we are, or our gender, we all have been through it, and we're still going through it. Riley is an amazing character, that Pixar should be proud of.
She didn't dismiss this movie as a kids movie. But these movies definitely are marketed to kids and I think she wondered how kids would process the more mature themes in the movie.
@SUNUMPIMP Nah, I know she didn't dismiss it, she seemed to love it, but she mentioned something about kids movies. A lot of people are dismissing them though, and you're right, they are marketed to kids, with all the merch and magazines that clearly are for kids, and I think that's a bit sad, people are missing out on some great movies.

@@tranatkikomi6873 you’re a legend for this 🙌 I definitely could’ve used a refresher before diving into this one 😅
