    It hit me so hard the part when Joy said: "I don't know how to stop anxiety. Maybe we can’t, maybe this is what happens when you grow up, you feel less joy."

      @@Cityweaver oof, this is where i am right now with my anxiety and depression. :( but it's true, you can't punish yourself forever for past mistakes. it's important to make room to for happiness (like doing things that make you happy), and to let yourself accept praise and even give yourself some from time to time. my therapist and i actually just talked about this recently. therapy helps _so_ much if have access to it, or talking to a trusted friend/parent if you don't.

    “I’m not good enough” hit me hard too. I remember during my internship when I was scolded by my internship supervisor for having late for the first time. I was shocked, disappointed, and sad at the same time. I was affected by her words and I would say that it somewhat affected my performance.
    Whenever I see my supervisor, i feel anxious. Even I graduated, I always avoided to remember that moment.

      Every time I get reprimanded, that's the thought the resonates within me. But, with time, I've finally started learning to curb that and to handle it in a healthy way. I have to stop and remind myself "I'm not good enough YET. But I will be."

    this movie is very good at explaining the emotional side of teenagers. They are overwhelmed sometimes and things can cause them to have anxiety or joy or fear or embarrassment. But I think for the young adults from 18-25 this movie really is helping to heal that part of them they had to push down because they weren't given help while going through this when they were younger. I give the movie 5 stars 😁

    I've dealt with anxiety and a lot of anxiety attacks through a long period of my life and 3 years ago I learnt how to control it so I don't get to the point of an attack, so this movie was really relatable to me. I watched it in the theatre with my best friend and I was controlling myself not to cry for like 30 min and then decided to say to her "I can't handle this movie" and when I said that I started balling my eyes out and laughing (because I was crying) at the same time, I looked maniac ahahahha

    • @wwhn
      @wwhn  4 місяці тому +11

      * hugs you * trust me I understand more than you know. This movie had a way of making you feel so vulnerable, seen and exposed but it’s so good for the kids to see so they’re able to identify that emotion and feeling. I also love the part when Riley was coming out of the attack she was breathing and rubbing the bench which for her grounded her. like I can’t express how beautiful sad this moment was.

  • @sasha8809
    @sasha8809 4 місяці тому +19

    at the end of the first movie, Joy tells Sadness that Riley needs her. and at the end of this movie, Sadness tells Joy that Riley wants her. the first movie makes it a point that ALL our emotions are important, and none are "right" or "wrong", that even emotions that are hard to deal with are necessary. but the fact that Riley WANTS joy (in the second movie) absolutely hit me to my core...a beautiful reminder that joy isn't guaranteed, but by striving towards it we can achieve it. loved your reaction!

  • @steveross2868
    @steveross2868 4 місяці тому +43

    The reason why all the other emotions in everybody else’s head look similar to the person they belong to with the exception of Riley is because the filmmakers on the first film felt it would be confusing jumping around between all these different emotions in everyone else’s head. So they gave everyone else designs that reflect their respective person to make it easier for the audience to know who is who.
    Riley’s are basically the “main” ones we follow so they’ll always remain how they look.

  • @Kiraiko44
    @Kiraiko44 4 місяці тому +13

    I think sadness is better in this movie because she's been allowed to become a healthier version of herself, versus when she was being constantly repressed by Riley which was making her act out. Now she doesn't feel like she has to be so extreme to have an influence over Riley's state of mind

    This hit hard. My daughter will be 12 in a few weeks. Shes been tgrough hell with bullying . Shes Autistic with crippling PDA. Just been clinically diagnosed with panic attacks. Last night she resorted to self harm. I asked her why, she said she didnt realise in the moment, didn't remember doing it, but she has been lashing out as me, punching, kicking etc she said she doesnt want to hurt me, and she sees and recognises that she has and now turned to herself. We are in the middle of this. We went to the cinema to see this when it first came out. PDA isnt believed here by professionals, ive tried taking her and it just makes how she feels worse coz its all about blame! Im terrified my beautiful girl will become a statistic due to the professionals ignorance! My daughter is also a huge fan of ice hockey, here in Northern Ireland! Our team is the Belfast Giants, and the coach is an advocate for autism. The team motto is 'in a land of giants, we are all equal '. The anxiety attack portrayal in this movie opened doors to my daughter's mind. That fight, flight, freeze... we connect with it all. ❤️ ♾️

    What you are feeling at the end, the combination of happy and sad, you're probably feeling what I feel every time I see this movie. I relate to Anxiety the same way you do. You feel reflective and bittersweet. :) You are reflecting on how the movie relates to you SO much, that it makes you emotional. You know your anxiety so well, that you can embrace it and can openly talk about it, something that a lot of people, I.E... me... who have anxiety tend to not do because it is seen as a crutch, excuse or even an mental illness... which is it not. It is simply nothing to be ashamed of.

    Not me tearing up with you when I don't think I even cried while watching the film! Thank you for being so open, honest, and vulnerable with your emotions - it’s such a ✨beautiful✨ thing. Sometimes, I think that becomes a bit more difficult as we get older because we’ve conditioned ourselves to suppress certain feelings/emotions for the sake of our job/career, partner(s), life circumstances, a “positive outlook,” etc. I hope you know that none of your true supporters ever look at those moments where you showcase your (raw) feelings as a negative or something shameful. If anything, I see it as a source of ✨inspiration✨ and gratitude. You are seen, heard, and appreciated, especially in those more vulnerable moments. You also deserve to take up space, my guy. I’m sending YOU a virtual hug 🫂 and a ton load and an abundance load of peace, love, and positivity. 🖤
