I'll be 59 yrs. Old on 12/8 /2017 . Been listening to this since 1976 when this first came out. Still Jams .
RIP Charlie - Saddle Tramp has been a favorite album and song of mine since its initial release.
my friends from HS in NJ nicknamed me Charlie Daniels, because I used to wear a cowby hat like his and I was huge fan of Southern Rock instead of a Boss fan. They meant it as put down but I took it as a compliment. RIP Uneasy Rider
One of the most underrated albums I can think of nobody knows about it yet it's an amazing album
No one did a better job of blending southern and progressive rock than the Charlie Daniels Band, in my humble opinion.
This music - this flannel-shirted genre - was the most effective antidote to disco. RIP:CDB
Thanks, Charlie for some of the most innovative music to ever flow out of the South. Your influence will be felt for a long, long time. Rest in peace.
Starts out slow, then ends up being one of the most jamming southern rock tunes of the era. Turn it up!!
This is my favorite CDB song. The jam in the middle is reminiscent of The Allman Brothers. It's hard to believe that they used to play this song on FM radio.
The soundtrack of my life in 1977.
I'm 63 but when I hear this song I feel 19 again, they used to play this song and other southern rock songs (Marshall Tucker Band, The Outlaws, 38 Special, etc) at the Stumble Inn, the bar across the street from the apartment where I lived ias a college student in Tucson in 1979-80. The music was synched to a video of skiers wiping out and on a continuous loop... the more you drank the more it made you laugh. They gave free 2-step lessons so city boys like me could learn how to dance with a girl the right way instead of the spazz dancing I used to do to rock music in high school. The drinking age was 18 when I was 18 and went up to 19 when I was 19 so there was never a time I couldn't drink legally. I will always remember Saddletramp as a song that made me feel free... which was a great experience being the first time I had ever lived away from my parents. Like I fell asleep and woke up in a Western. Where's my horse? 😊
One of my top-ten all time favorite albums!
Some of the greatest music ever. RIP Charlie

Bern listening to Charlie since 74, love this guy.
Oh my gosh. Thanks to my parents I grew up with this stuff. Great memories.
Can't tell you how many Saddle Tramp and High Lonesome 8-tracks, cassettes, and albums I wore out back in the 70's & 80's, that kind of music is gone forever, and could never be done as well by nobody !
