I don't know about you, but the fixture scheduling is ridiculous. So we played on the 27th, the same date as Brighton did, but they play Dec 30th and we play on the Jan 1st which gives us 2 days less rest and prep? Furthermore, Newcastle play Jan 4th at 12:30, and we play 5 hours later, but then in the second leg, they play Saturday and we play on the sunday (versus city who could be way better then), giving us literally just one day to prepare versus their 2. I don't want to be pessimistic but we are being set up for failure with this schedule. It doesn't help that they have no europe and we have 2 games, in addition to us having United in the FA cup and them having...Bromley. I would have much preferred spurs who have injuries, look exhausted, and need to win their 2 Europa games. We 100% would have smashed them over 2 legs.

We missed out in the last summer window. No point splashing the cash desperately right now. We won’t be winning the league this season because I honestly don’t think we are anywhere near Liverpool’s level. At least comparing the forms of the two teams right now. But I am hopeful that in the next few years, Arteta can win us the league. We have come a long way under his leadership especially given that this is his first job and he came in at a bad time for us. Not too bad for a first job. He has spent most of his transfer budget on defenders but I think we are about to enter the attack-building phase of our rebuilding plan. As a physiotherapist he can def come back stronger... The key is Arteta needs to allow him time to do that and not play him week in and out. A setback would make things way worse. Hamstrings are diarthrodial muscles they act over two joints meaning they handle a lot of load... Once his scar is closed he should be in hydrotherapy straight way + a lot of soft tissue work by week four very very light loading in the water of course... Rehabing someone like Bee would be so much fun because of his mentality
Gyokeres isn't the right profile for our team nor does he fit our style. We don't play counter-attacking football as a primary objective. At 27, 80m+ is ridiculous for a player who hasn't proven anything in the top 4 leagues. I'm confident we won't sign him and I'm happy with that. Sorry flavour of the month fanboys. Sesko has a much higher ceiling, is a beast at 6ft5, has more pace, more athleticism, a much better touch, better header of the ball, more technical and hits the ball a lot cleaner than Gyokeres. He'll score a lot more goals with Arsenal than at Leipzig

Being that we need someone to replace saka, in his position , and with Sterling who is also injured , who let's be honest has not shown anything to say he could replace Saka when fit. Maybe terminate the Sterling loan?, can that be done? and bring back Reiss Nelson? , who as far as I know, has a no buy clause in the loan deal with Fulham.

For as much as I can understand why there now exists a clamour for the Newcastle star striker, as one of those who likewise argued the case for him being bought from Real Sociedad for the £60M they wanted some 2 years ago, I'd certainly be concerned that our recruitment team only now sees enough in him to warrant paying nearly 3 times as much as we baulked at when we were in the front seat for his signature and he wanted to join us, so what has really changed that much from then to now? Any purchase now for the Swede at a hyper inflated price would be bound to arouse the god of mischief to intervene and afflict him with either an injury record to rival Diaby and Van Persie, or loss of form akin to when Anelka went to Real Madrid or Chevchenko and Torres went to Chelsea. Learn from a mistake when it's too late to rectify it, so let's just move on and buy his international strike partner Gyokeres instead, given that there's as much chance he'd give us more of what we need to complete our attack anyway.

If you’re going to spend big on Isak, you’ve got to reckon with him being injured 25ish% of the time. It’s a significantly more risky proposition than Declan Rice. I do love him as a player and agree he could be the last piece… but I wouldn’t be going to £150m. In the end Newcastle are in a strong position and it mainly comes down to whether they want to sell. If it’s not going to happen at £110m I think I’d prefer we looked elsewhere. Sesko to me looks a better bet for the long haul when you factor in the likely cost of the deals.
Arsenal had shown interest in Isak the Winter before the Summer he left Spain. And Newcastle paid under his release cluase(release clause was 90 million and newcastle paid 60 million). For me that was a missed opportunity, casue in that season he had already shown his ability to finish at the level. I don't know about you, but the fixture scheduling is ridiculous. So we played on the 27th, the same date as Brighton did, but they play Dec 30th and we play on the Jan 1st which gives us 2 days less rest and prep? Furthermore, Newcastle play Jan 4th at 12:30, and we play 5 hours later, but then in the second leg, they play Saturday and we play on the sunday (versus city who could be way better then), giving us literally just one day to prepare versus their 2. I don't want to be pessimistic but we are being set up for failure with this schedule. It doesn't help that they have no europe and we have 2 games, in addition to us having United in the FA cup and them having...Bromley. I would have much preferred spurs who have injuries, look exhausted, and need to win their 2 Europa games. We 100% would have smashed them over 2 legs.

We won’t be winning the league this season because I honestly don’t think we are anywhere near Liverpool’s level. At least comparing the forms of the two teams right now.

Hamstrings are diarthrodial muscles they act over two joints meaning they handle a lot of load... Once his scar is closed he should be in hydrotherapy straight way + a lot of soft tissue work by week four very very light loading in the water of course... Gyokeres isn't the right profile for our team nor does he fit our style. We don't play counter-attacking football as a primary objective. At 27, 80m+ is ridiculous for a player who hasn't proven anything in the top 4 leagues. I'm confident we won't sign him and I'm happy with that. Sorry flavour of the month fanboys. Sesko has a much higher ceiling, is a beast at 6ft5, has more pace, more athleticism, a much better touch, better header of the ball, more technical and hits the ball a lot cleaner than Gyokeres. He'll score a lot more goals with Arsenal than at Leipzig

Being that we need someone to replace saka, in his position , and with Sterling who is also injured , who let's be honest has not shown anything to say he could replace Saka when fit. Maybe terminate the Sterling loan?, can that be done? and bring back Reiss Nelson? , who as far as I know, has a no buy clause in the loan deal with Fulham.
Arsenal just simply need Marmoush(before someone takes him in the summer) and Cunha. And maybe Kubo(if they are really ambitious this Jan). Everything else can be dealt with in the summer.

For as much as I can understand why there now exists a clamour for the Newcastle star striker, as one of those who likewise argued the case for him being bought from Real Sociedad for the £60M they wanted some 2 years ago, I'd certainly be concerned that our recruitment team only now sees enough in him to warrant paying nearly 3 times as much as we baulked at when we were in the front seat for his signature and he wanted to join us, so what has really changed that much from then to now?
Any purchase now for the Swede at a hyper inflated price would be bound to arouse the god of mischief to intervene and afflict him with either an injury record to rival Diaby and Van Persie, or loss of form akin to when Anelka went to Real Madrid or Chevchenko and Torres went to Chelsea.
Learn from a mistake when it's too late to rectify it, so let's just move on and buy his international strike partner Gyokeres instead, given that there's as much chance he'd give us more of what we need to complete our attack anyway.

No way we sign Isak. Arteta is not going to change his system. As someone who has taken Saka’s presence for granted, it is indeed sad to see him in that picture.
If you’re going to spend big on Isak, you’ve got to reckon with him being injured 25ish% of the time. It’s a significantly more risky proposition than Declan Rice. I do love him as a player and agree he could be the last piece… but I wouldn’t be going to £150m. In the end Newcastle are in a strong position and it mainly comes down to whether they want to sell. If it’s not going to happen at £110m I think I’d prefer we looked elsewhere. Sesko to me looks a better bet for the long haul when you factor in the likely cost of the deals.

Arsenal had shown interest in Isak the Winter before the Summer he left Spain. And Newcastle paid under his release cluase(release clause was 90 million and newcastle paid 60 million). For me that was a missed opportunity, casue in that season he had already shown his ability to finish at the level. Now Newcastle holds all the cards and should Newcastle have a feeling that if he does leave there will be a bidding war that could push his price well north over 100 mil
