.Thank you very much. I haven’t sewn in 25years and had forgotten the basics of setting up the machine. I have a vintage machine and your video was marvelous.
I tried to use good lighting and lock the focus of the camera and zoomed in because it’s so hard to really see what’s going on. I’m glad this video helped you catch the bobbin thread!
I recently picked up this same machine in a cabinet setup. In amazing shape. Lady gave it to me free because "it didn't work anymore" and thanks to you, this welder/fabricator and diesel mechanic now has his sewing machine singing such a sweet little tune. Thank you and keep up the great work
@Marklar1 my wife and I just picked up a WHITE foot operated machine with the triple drawers on each side with the cable flip lid. From what I gather by the numbers is an 1800's machine. It still has the "WHITE" label out of wood on the front which flips up and under when it flips the lid. It's a beautiful antique piece of machinery. I've been detailing it up to put it to use on light gauge leather. Keep up the great work!
I loved this video. You did a great job and I had not problems threading my machine and sewing. Really liked how you showed us how to adjust the tension to make the stitch better!
Thank you very much! I have been trying to thread this machine and find a video that would explain how and YOU were the only person with a video that was completely understandable and it worked perfectly!!! Again thank you! Great presentation
I have a new-to-me Kenmore 148.12500. I think I’m gonna love it very much! I work with cotton fabrics-love denim! So, yeah: Easy Peasy. It’s locked up but that’s a lesson in patience and good cleaning. I wish there were videos JUST on that particular model. It has 2 knobs and a lever. I’d like to see the Reverse, in action. Threading the machine looks like a nightmare! Definitely have to keep the manual nearby and use the machine enough to be very familiar with it. I like how you use the correct terminology to describe what you are doing. It’s better than thingamajig, when trying to follow directions. Lol. Close up of the tension knob getting threaded would have been a little better cuz of the multiple twists & turns. To me and away from me is what I understand better. Nevertheless, I understood and you helped me a lot. I but she purrs like a kitten after she’s loosened up and running! Vroooom….
Recently purchased a vintage Sears Kenmore sewing machine. Just love it. I think mine is a different model number though. It looks very similar. Whoever owned it previously took very good care of it. Looks brand new. Your video was very helpful. Thank you. Just checked. Mine is a 158-15251 made in Japan.
this video is saving my LIFE rn i got gifted an old sewing machine that isn't exaaaaactly this but close enough that i have successfully inserted the bobbin!!! (it was already threaded or else i'd probably be screaming and crying right now lol)
Very helpful! Thank you! I am trying to learn how to use the 47-48 year old sewing machine I inherited. I definitely learned a few things from this video. 👍
It was very helpful! For some reason my needle wasn’t disengaging but also the little silver knob wasn’t really turning separately from the whole knob.. I think it may be causing an issue when I’m sewing, the needle arm will randomly stop
Just bought one of these for 100$ in bad shape. Then another 150$ to do a deep clean and recalibrate. I hope it’s worth the $ I hear it’s a great machine??
Super helpful ! But I did have an issue. So I have a 14813101 model but I couldn't seem to actually make stiches with out it getting caught. Do you know what's happening?
Is the needle correctly positioned? There is a flat side to the needle that needs to be correctly positioned, and if it isn’t then that could possibly be your problem.
Hello. This is very helpful for me since I just bought the 1431. Thank you. Can you recommend a replacement light bulb for this machine? Mine gets really hot and I want to change it. Thank you
Have you tried to take the bulb out to look at it? There should be a specific size number bulb that you can look up. Sometimes these bulbs do get very hot, I haven’t considered replacing it with something that isn’t the original incandescent bulb.
I've got a Kenmore 158.19312 and when I pull the clutch out to wind a bobbin, the needle bar continues to travel. Do I have a stuck clutch? How do I fix this?
There is more to needle choice than size. An 80/12 universal needle is the most used needle and will usually come as standard with your sewing machine.
This helped me so much! It’s been decades since I played with a sewing machine and thank you so much for this! 🎉
My grandma just picked up this machine for me at the thrift store for $15. This video was so helpful! Thank you!

That’s wonderful to hear! It’s nice to be able to pick something back up after years and get back into it. Thank you.
Wow-- this video is really clear. Camera was in focus the whole time. I finally could catch the bobbin thread! THANK YOU!!
I tried to use good lighting and lock the focus of the camera and zoomed in because it’s so hard to really see what’s going on. I’m glad this video helped you catch the bobbin thread!
Cómo?
Hadn't used my Kenmore for years; now I'm back in business. Thank you for the clear directions!!🤗
Good to hear. Thank you too!
this really helped me to thread complete job in my kenmore thank you
Awesome! I’m glad this video was helpful for you!
Please never remove this video! It was a lifesaver for an old thrift store machine whose bobbin-winding method had bested me lol
Glad it helped. Thank you!
I won’t ever remove it.

I will post some more videos on how to sew. Thank you for the suggestion!
Great video! Thank you so much.
It was very helpful! For some reason my needle wasn’t disengaging but also the little silver knob wasn’t really turning separately from the whole knob.. I think it may be causing an issue when I’m sewing, the needle arm will randomly stop
Did you ever figure it out?
Just bought one of these for 100$ in bad shape. Then another 150$ to do a deep clean and recalibrate. I hope it’s worth the $ I hear it’s a great machine??
These older, all metal machines are definitely worth it. If you’ve gotten it serviced,
I’m sure it will last you a long time and get the job done.
TY just what I need to learn.
You are welcome!
Best video! Thank you so much!!!

kenmore C877-68 can you demonstrate how to thread and what "All" the controls Knobs actually do appreaciated
Super helpful ! But I did have an issue. So I have a 14813101 model but I couldn't seem to actually make stiches with out it getting caught. Do you know what's happening?
Big help!!!
Glad to be of assistance!
Loved your video. Did everything as you instructed. My needle keeps hitting the edge of the flat steel plate (bought this used).
Why us that?
Is the needle correctly positioned? There is a flat side to the needle that needs to be correctly positioned, and if it isn’t then that could possibly be your problem.
Its probably that you have it on zigzag and you need a different foot.
Hello. This is very helpful for me since I just bought the 1431. Thank you.
Can you recommend a replacement light bulb for this machine? Mine gets really hot and I want to change it. Thank you

Helpful video...tnx
You are welcome.
Great video!!!
Thank you!
Good video, but you should have presser foot up while threading. Thank you, 👍
Thank you for the suggestion!
Can you tell me what class bobbin this machine uses and where I could find them, Thanks
Merci
You are welcome.
I've got a Kenmore 158.19312 and when I pull the clutch out to wind a bobbin, the needle bar continues to travel.
Do I have a stuck clutch? How do I fix this?
Did you disengage the needle by loosening the small knob inside of the large knob?
This helped me.
I am glad the video was helpful to you. Thank you for the positive feedback.
What is that knob for on the front right side base of the machine.
can ypu please tell me what size needles do this machine caring please
There is more to needle choice than size. An 80/12 universal needle is the most used needle and will usually come as standard with your sewing machine.
All needles for domestic sewing machines fit all machines.
Do you have more on this?
Not currently. What type of content are you looking for?
My bobbin will not click in, NY suggestions
No puedo enebral la bobina 😢Porque será?
I’m not sure. Did you figure it out?
