Why the opening track sounds weird: I get copyright claims on everything I post, which I understand completely, but when a band who is NOT Slipknot is trying to claim the song, that's not cool. So I changed the pitch to avoid it being detected. "KNT" by Sound Cloup isn't getting any credit from me! :D

I've only heard a handful of people changing the actual sound of a song/adding in really quiet background music with it to get around that ....but what about all the others that don't???
I get official music videos...but a fan made lyric video or just studio version song makes no sense....

EVERYONE is hit with a copyright claim. If you are using something that isn't yours, expect a copyright claim on it whether you have 1 sub or 1 million.
Basically, Sound Cloup (their record label actually) is claiming the intro as their song, which means any money I would generate from this video would go to them, when it SHOULD be going to Roadrunner Records. This also means Sound Cloup could decide to block my video if they felt like it.
This happened to me with Heretic Anthem too. Some random band claimed the song. So I swapped the audio for a live version instead--which was then claimed by Roadrunner. :) But every claim I've disputed with Slipknot stuff has been released after 30 days. They probably just get too many claims to care.
The way to check if a song has been claimed in someone's video, if you're curious, is to scroll down to the bottom of the description box of their video and see if the song is listed there. Once the claim expires, the song disappears from the description box.
That's probably more than you wanted to know, but hope that all makes sense. :)

"Here comes the pain" is from Al Pacino in the movie Carlito's Way.
The sample at the start, "Here Come the Pain," was taken from the film Carlito's Way, it occurs just as Al Pacino runs into an empty room after fleeing to the toilets. 😎

To answer your question... the tall guy in the photo is Jim Root. That was his very first mask. The guy in the album isn't him, it's Josh the original guitarist. Jim joined the band in late 1999

Jim only played Purity in Self Titled album in 1999. 🤘🏻

This song actually started out as the song 'Slipknot', where the band took their final name from. The original song goes back to 1992/93 and went through several versions until we got '(sic)' which was essentially sped-up and had Corey's lyrics in place of Anders' ones. The long number '7426...' is the barcode number from the 'Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.' CD. In the self-titled era one of the band's recurring themes was that they saw themselves as a disease or 'sickness', so I think that's where the line "You can't kill me cause I'm already inside you" came from. Also notice in the photo that you showed that Jim doesn't have a number on his arm but an upside-down 'A'. When he joined the band the suit of the original number '4', Josh Brainard, was too small for him, so he didn't have a jumpsuit yet and there were two roadies who had their own suits so he borrowed the one that best fit him for the early photoshoots until he got his own with the number '4' on.
The number is the barcode of Slipknot's first album, Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.
That was with Anders as the singer, so not included in the current Slipknot list.
Donnie Steele played bass When Paul was gone. He played behind stage! Some notables that played in the back behind the stage were members of "AS I LAY DYING", when Jim or Mick was out.
The opening track leading into (Sic) was the first thing I ever heard from slipknot in 1999 on headphones at a Best Buy when I was 14 years old. Completely blew me away and never looked back.

small fact about this last tour is when there was the keg hit during this song, they switched it out with a sick roland 808 style bass drop, done by the one and only. "Slipknot - (sic) (Knotfest Los Angeles 2021) 4K" no links ... hum could be a good comparison live video for your future Maggot Monday

I'm really glad you got to this one and enjoyed it! Like you said, for many of us, this was our first introduction to a Slipknot album. For myself, this was also doorway to something else and really, I guess it was an era. Label it the dreaded "Nu-Metal" era if you want, but it got some of us deeper into metal than we were before. In addition, I had never heard anything with this level of intensity and that includes some of the death metal I had heard. I suppose "raw" might be the right word. Also, those sound combinations just sounded alien and new. I think Nu-Metal gets a bad rap (heh) because it did start off very new and different, but became stagnant quickly with the commercialization of the sound and numerous copycat bands jumping on the scene with varying degrees of quality. Either way, I can still go back to the self-titled album and many albums from the time and they're still (sic) to me.

Yea, Slipknot hates the term nu metal because they were entirely different than the other bands in that genre... Korn and limp bizkit are nothing like slipknot really.

Self titled isn't my favorite album by Slipknot, but SIC is my favorite song by them. Absolutely love it. Reading through your comments, I've learned a ton of things about the song I didn't know. I appreciate your subs giving me some education. Thank you guys and gals.

Was gonna comment about the evolution of “(sic)”, the 2 film samples in the tracks, and the meaning of the numbers, but multiple people beat me to it on those topics 😂 loved the reaction! Sucks you had to pitch down the intro. I one time got 3 strikes in a day by a guy who didn’t even own the music off a GWAR album I uploaded (with my own animations). My channel was terminated out of nowhere, no warning, and UA-cam didn’t do shit cuz their customer service is nonexistent. I had to beg with the thief over email to get my channel back, but luckily got it after 2 months and had to delete the videos. The false copyright claims on this platform are disgusting and only the uploader, who uses the content in a transformative nature with no monetization, and under Fair Use, gets punished, instead of the people that actually steal the ad revenue that have no right to. Ugh, that happened in 2013 and this sort of crap is STILL happening 😑 rant over, lol. Anyway, been watching your Slipknot and Mudvayne reactions for a few months, but just noticed I wasn’t subbed, so I fixed that 😋 excited to be along for the ride! 💜

the numbers stand for the barcode of the MFKR cd, and they have the barcode n numbers on their jumpsuit as a mockery to the music industry and how they're making artists a brand or like an item to be bought thats only for face value and not the music itself
