I've watched a video tutorial abt bending object but it only got me frustrated as it didn't worked. But yours solved the problem I've been struggling for a day. Thank you!
"You're gonna need some edge loops, 'let me show you why-" That right there got you a sub immediately, you don't know how much I appreciate that blunt type of explanation
Hi there 3DTudor thnx for all those videos about Blender ect ect ,but i have a question if i may? I have Blender 2.9 and also Blender 3.4 and i do exactly what you are telling in this video the first steps are ok but there is a problem when i am at 4.40 min of the video and doing the Array Modifer then it is all going wrong becuase i am not getting a second cube or ( stair step ) if you know what i mean and also i tried something else but i am in touble then when i must do the Loops because that dosent work ,i have done this now for 5 days and it is not working ,what do i do wrong ?? can you maybe help me pleace ,because i want to make a curved stairs kind regards Dan.
Array modifier is not really a user friendly in my opinion, I see so many people confused about it. First think you need to know that it's best to apply modifiers before using it (ctrl + a) as it works best that way. Also, you need to know that array is done based on origin points of a mesh, so make sure that that's at a center of your object. All in all, if you are working on curved staircase, i recommend you doing it from the world origin, and set up an object to be used to modify that array. I know it's confusing but I'm sure you'll get there in the end. Hope this helps :)
When I tried this it just warped my geometry in bad ways... All I did was scale it, apply scale, add loop cuts, and then I tried to bend it with the modifier and it ignored the loop cuts and collapsed some of my geometry
You need to make sure that the origin points are reset properly for the mesh. Click ctrl + a to reset all transforms then right click and set origin to an object and see if it helps.
Thank you for this great video!! :) I still struggle because my mesh always bend on itself... I don't obtain the same results as your bend, I don't understand why.... -_-
have they cleaned up this workflow in newer versions? or do you still have to use such a silly method to achieve simple bends? my simple deform does nothing, even after applying scale and testing each axis and location of object origin.
It is still the same type of a modifier... Is it not getting effected at all? maybe it needs additional topology? Changing origin point would also effect this...
It's hard to say, my guess is that you might need to click ctrl + a and apply modifiers for the objects, and i would recommend you try working at the world origin to see if it works better
The modifier is effected by origin point (right click on object and set it to geometry) and its transform values (alt + a to reset). Hope this helps :)

Great to hear! That's exactly why I got this channel started :D

Thank you! ^^
Thank you for the nice job! I was trying all the sort of things around, and then I have found your tutorial and it clicked! Thank you so much again!
Great to hear! ^^
thank you very much for your lessons
Glad you like them!
This is exactly what i need! Thanks!
Great :)
Thanks alot for this tutorial
Glad it was helpful! ^^
Okay, this was a little bit TOO good and easy to understand. Subscribed. 🤠
Haha Thanks
This video help out alot,
Great job!
Glad it helped!
thanks for your tutorial 👍
Always welcome! :)
Thanks for the tuto but would a lattice modifier would be better to have more control over how it bends ?
It has its place for sure and I may cover that in another tutorial. :)
Good information 🇦🇶
Thanks for liking
Could you use this to flatten an arched wall? Brilliant btw, so many good tips. loved it.
Absolutely!
What a nice job you've done! Congrats and keep it up! Thats so useful, thanks you so much 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you! 😃
I think I know but why do you have to do the part at the end when you change the rotation in edit then object mode?
This is an easy way to change the axis is bending on. If I rotate in object then the object will be upside down and hard to judge :)
lol i love this..i was just asking everyone the other day why no one can say oriental anymore. didnt make sense to me. good job not bein a weenie
Haha... Thanks!
❤thank
Glad you liked it ^^
When I press control+j to join everything together, the parts touching each other disappear, creating holes. Any idea what is going on?
Normally this is caused by a modifier not being applied before joining.
yu are the last blender-bender
haha, thanks!

6:30 *Using ctrl+a to APPLY transforms not reset them.
Yeah, people refer to it in both ways, I think older versions used to have it as 'reset'.
can you teaches us how to create a basic knife
Hi matey, I will keep that in mind for future videos for you :)
would you know my it just tilts my object to the side instead of bending it?
You might need to apply rotation before using modifier. Use ALT + a for it
Thank you for this great video!! :) I still struggle because my mesh always bend on itself... I don't obtain the same results as your bend, I don't understand why.... -_-
Glad it was helpful! Try having the object at the world's origin and press CTRL + A to apply rotation/scaling.
@@3DTudor thank you so much again, it was the solution! 😁 🙏
How will I know what angle I’m bending at?
Nvm, I saw it says the angle 🤦♂🤣

_Mashes ARE COOL 3d street_
Glad you got it sorted :D
Oooh!

ive done exacty what you did and it is not working i am confused

its a good video
however
it goes left and right
not back
when it does go back its not bending backwards its just going back as if move
facing the same problem
what i did, i put loop cuts around one the horizontal axis, then added the modifier, then rotated.
I dont understand why it wouldnt deform on x and y in your setup
Maybe an issue with origin point placement, or simply an older version issue...
It simply does not work the way you describe it. The deform modifier tapers the mesh toward the end, it does not bend it.
It might have something to do with origin point offset, try setting origin point to geometry and seeing if it fixes it :)
didnt worked for me, turned into a triangle
you might need to apply transformation (ctrl + a).
bend modifier is really bad in Blender
It's alright once you get used to it :)
@@3DTudor yeah alright but room for improvemen, like the lattice.
the end does not work for me. this is so stupid, why cant they make bending simple and easy.
The modifier is effected by origin point (right click on object and set it to geometry) and its transform values (alt + a to reset). Hope this helps :)
@@3DTudor thanks i will try later when i got time

haha, sorry :D
