      @@davybigfly we usually do alternated 5-10 push ups and squats or you can just rest if you're not fit enough. dont do stretching especially static stretching, it will lower your performance. only do it at the end of your class as your cool down session.

      Love hearing from you Jaycee! Combo 6 was the hardest and took the longest for me to land and get use to. I use to never be able to land long knees until I figured out the rythm of left hook - right hook - grab the head!

      I like his style! But I get goosebumps seeing him dropping hands that low.. All it takes is just a little snap on the chin and he is gone. McGregor vs. Aldo is a good example. Conor's hook wasn't really powerful!

    . this instructor has real experience in fighting tech that work. my only advice (30 yrs of boxing) is open up/set up with more lead variant jabs. especially w/combo #1 . Dont attempt a liver rip w/o setting it off a jab or 1-2. even if opponent is shelled up your to open to a strong counter. start with a jab and end with a jab variant (if necessary) thats a boxing rule.really good stuff!

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  6 років тому +47

      Hey rick! Thanks for your advice! I've learned that from my coach before, jabbing away out of the liver hook. Im still not too good at it tho. I find the only time I can avoid getting hit after a liver hook punch is to step out with a low kick right after.

      Distance is everything, well said Mister. Also the Jab at the end during your reset creates a " safe area " especially with fighters that have the tendency to answer every hit.. The final jab really discourage them to do so..

    • @anitainment6426
      @anitainment6426 4 роки тому +2

      This is muay Thai/kickboxing not boxing, it's okay to throw a lead liver rip without a jab, watch some Rodtang fights, he's amazing and it's one of his go to kill shots.

    • @christossid
      @christossid 4 роки тому +3

      @@anitainment6426 It's 50% boxing if not more.. Especially at the modern era of western style we have 3-5 basic kicks and the rest is boxing history... So of course you can throw a liver punch without setting it with jab or 1-2... BUT against western style it's rather difficult to execute it right and at the same time to find the opponent off guard due to style.. At Thai this very common ( liver shot with out setting ) because ITS COMPLETELY different style...
      So if you want to succeed with a liver shot best and most safe case scenario is setting up liver shot with Jab or 1-2 or kick-3 or whatever suits best your style... One way or another you must force your opponent to raise his guard in order to find open spot for liver...

    Loved these combos, I have been actually training with one combo weekly, trying to get used the movement. it has really helped, especially bc your combos are in live sparrings, not on punching bags. A lot of the times you practice a combo on a bag not knowing if it will work in a sparring, then you find it out isnt sometimes. This way you know the combos you are getting better at will work, so really enjoyed these videos. I will keep on following your tips, would love to actually go train with you one day. OSS!!

      My job has HIGHLY irregular hours, so I can't always get to training sessions. When I do get the chance I jump on it. Also the gym/dojo I'm with is actually 4 different gyms that work together; everything from BJJ, MMA, Karate, HEMA, Kenda (and one of the gyms is at the same location as indoor archery, but they aren't part of the package deal).
      My coach posts to the group chat "Tomorrow morning, [gym location], who is coming" and I immediately said yes.
      I then ask if it is no gi and my coach replies with a picture of some brutal ground-and-pound and says "fight like this, 8 rounds." and I replied "I'll see if I can last 2"
      And sure enough I lasted 2, gassed out totally in the 3rd round.
      _______________________
      If you still then I made it all up, so be it.
      Truth is I actually held back on some details (such as my coach's name) because that would be even LESS believable. Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction.

      What you are doing is fine, but just assume you need more drilling/practice/experience. You cant expect to beat someone who has done it longer or is just better at it than you. Sometimes it isnt the technique your doing wrong, its that someone else is better at defending than you are at attacking or vice versa! Keep up the good training and remember to drill drill drill!

    Just did a practice on these on the bag. Will try them later tonight in sparring. I like how they are basic so easy to do and easy to remember and can see they will be effective in landing. And yes I also like how you show these working in sparring

Too busy to research youtubers and the fact you're showing these techniques in multiple sparring situations is golden, subscribed immediately. Also used some of these combos in my Kyokushin sparring session yesterday and they worked like a charm :)
