Here's a link to the S7 MaxV Ultra: amzn.to/3cGNTqw I did think of one missing feature: following my kids around to clean up their path of destruction...
Any one who owns any of the s5-s7s know the wheels need de scaling. The build up makes them too slippery. You need a polisher one of those 3m paper or just scrub them with the blade. Why wouldn't roborock address this issue for year's.
Awesome review! Because of you I purchased my first robot vacuum and it was a Roborock S7 from Refhop and have no regrets. I’m glad I found your channel, thank you !
I just got this set up yesterday I was really impressed at how fast it maped my whole house, and it just works, it goes immediately to the room you assign cleans it and then returns back to the dock. Ran it multiple times in different rooms and it never got stuck once.
@@lawon01 they have a Max suction setting and it appears to work really well but I have to admit my Samsung powerbot turbo had outstanding suction claimed highest one on the market. And I believe it. But it's AI was pretty sucky.
Wouldn't it be nice to have the clean water reservoir be able to be hooked up to your cold water line and have a dirty water connected to your drain plumbing. Seems like its like a portable dishwasher , would be nice to have a more permanent installation option. I hope the dust/dirt bags can be auto re ordered like a subscription plan.
I got the S4 max. It's on sale right now on amazon for about $300. If you don't need or want the mopping feature, the s4 max is a really good machine at a really good price. My floors have never been cleaner. The app features for the s4 max are almost identical to this vacuum. The object avoidance is not quite as advanced as this machine, but then again I don't have little kids strewing things about at random locations, but I do have 2 dogs that never pee or poop in the house. it does a great job of going around objects that weren't there during the original mapping. Cords and shoe laces can be a problem , no matter which machine you have. This thing does such a good job vacuuming, that mopping with a swiffer is a breeze after this thing has gone through the house. Not everybody can justify $1500 for a robot, but $300 is justified and will save you hours weekly and your floors will have never been cleaner than before you had this thing. Waking around barefoot has never been so uneventful. I run this thing every single day, because , why not? It's not my labor and it always manages to find something to suck up.
@@bbuggediffy Yeh but it just uses water. How clean is that? Now if it allowed for a little mixing of cleaning solution or vinegar in the water then I could be on board.
I personally like bags over a container self empty system. Bags are better at filtration and filtration doesn't always last forever so replacing bags keeps filtration working well.
I'm getting this based on the amount of time we DON'T otherwise spend vacuuming and mopping. Lol! My old model Neato threw itself down the stairs a couple months ago. Time for an upgrade. 😁👍
I have used iRobots until recently when one of them started failing. I got this one because I liked the features of the doc refilling the mop and cleaning the mop. But WOW! I have to agree. I too have become obsessed with this system and dock! I love how it cleans the mop! I will say, I am surprised it doesn't tell us when the dust bin is full, but hey, how nit picky is it to point that out? One thing that made this THE BEST SYSTEM OUT THERE is the unsung hero of this system...the app! The iRobot app is really good! There are a couple of nit picky things I could pick on with it, but what I LOVE is that when you load the app it can immediately talk with the robot. iRobot has to connect with each robot every single time. With Roborock as soon as you load the app, it can talk with the dock and the robot. No sitting there just HOPING it manages to connect (which as many times as not iRobot does connect...but a lot of failed connections). At $1000, yeah, its pricey. No question. But when I see my dog has come in from the outside and left some footprints on my hardwood floor, and I can just tell Roborock to go after it...its INCREDIBLE how well it does! Most of all, this system keeps me house so much cleaner that every time I walk around I see it and I feel good! Putting a price on THAT kind of product satisfaction is really hard (on top of, yeah, not having to fight the system at ALL to get it done). Last point...mine was out of the box, connected, and cleaning in about 5 minutes (at most!). Can you remember the last time you had something do that? WELL DONE, ROBOROCK! And great video, too! Your girls are adorable. :)
For months I've been watching videos about this robot. I finally bought it two months ago and it completely changed my life for the better. I even use the video option to chat with my wife/kids/see if I forgot to turn off something.
Do you have any feedback regarding the mop cloth smelling after being automatically cleaned since the dock isn't equipped with a dryer/heating element? Also, have you noticed any smell coming from the dirty water tank at the dock? Thanks!
The S7 has been around for a long time, and that's never been a problem with it. The cloth just air dries, because it's retracted when the robot is docked.
@@klickint I have the S7 and the mop cloth absolutely does smell if the wet cloth is left attached after a mopping cycle. You'll find this problem is shared amongst other S7 owners that have written about it on various sites/forums. This is also the first dock to include a dirty water tank.
So far the mop cloth does not smell and just drys out like Steve Willer said. The dirty mop container water does kind of smell when the lid is opened. I just washed it out and it was fine. But no the robot vacuum and dock don't smell when standing next to it.
@@ntsp00 Sorry to hear that. I have S7's and S7 MaxV's, and no smelliness with any of them. Maybe it's a difference in water hardness or something. I don't use any cleaning solution at all ... just plain water.
Great review. Im just wondering about the clean water tank and the mold comments. I’d like to just add Glitza. They say only add their product. Then say clean the mold in tank with toxic cleaners! Im adding glitza.
I haven't done this with this specific vacuum but we had a central vac in our camper when I was a kid that my dad could no longer find bags for so I just took one of the bags we had left and added a zipper to it.
It's my favorite robot vacuum so far, the S7 was nice but lacked the AI object recognition, the new self cleaning mop is great. I love that it can refill itself
Man, one of the things that stops us from running our S5 MAX whenever (preferably on a schedule!) without having to pick stuff up is wires and similar that it gets stuck on. I guess I'll keep waiting to upgrade, as Roborock still can't handle this situation. I love the "dock" idea that it cleans everything. Much closer though! I guess it'll be next year or the year until we can upgrade where they have really nailed cleaning normal people's homes! :)
Why don’t you fix your cables with a cable trunking, cable bridge, or those cable nails that go over the skirtboars ? That would also give your house a tidier look and it would be much easier for your robot to clean
Really cool but I think that for 1500$ some extra features like being able to connect to the water line and being able to pump out the dirty water would have been a really nice addon. Is there some kind of way to use the floating sensors to trigger some devices with Home Assistant / SmartThings to automate it the DIY way (aka electric valve for the in and aquarium pump for the out)? Also, like you said, having to deal with bags is really annoying, in particular after spending all that money.
The most annoying thing about that is that it's Chinese counterpart, the g10s pro does come with a dock that can connect to water lines and even has a heater module to dry the mop pad
Any thoughts on the security? Unencrypted connections and vague privacy policies made Roborock vacuums get the lowest security score on a roundup by av-test
Nice - I just got my S7 MaxV Ultra a couple of days ago. I previously had an S4...I liked that one but this is a huge upgrade. Black Friday pricing of $1060 right now - still super expensive but a lot more capabable than the overpriced Roomba stuff.
I loved the video! Very informative, funny and useful! Our tiles at home are the same. haha... Have already bought the robot! Just as a price update, we payed 1,149.00 euros.
At out house we vacuum twice a day every day and mop once every day with the occasional run through in the evening. When robot vacuums first were introduced I was excited and was ready to invest in them. However I thought it better to wait and save my money for the right investment. Looks like that time is now. We would still manually mop and vacuum our house, but instead of manually doing it every day we would probably just do it on the weekend and hump day. We would use the robot more for "upkeep" so our deep cleaning days which tends to be Saturday are less of a work for us. ALSO. We recent got new furniture and have 2 massive dumb dumb shepherds and 3 devils masked as cats. Getting an air purifier made a significant difference with their hair and dander BUT as mention we still have to keep with the daily vacuuming and moping. With this.....ugh I hope it will help our pet problems.
It's neat but I kind of wondering why they don't offer a flat version of the dock which fits under the kitchen cabinet (after removing a section of the socket). This way it could be connected to fresh and waste water and not use tanks. The vacuum tank could be cleaned with flushing it out as well :) A simple door mechanism where you can connect the removed kitchen socket board would hide it completely - which would be so much more comfortable than having it sit there in a room all the time
@@nikolavrbanic647 that's the point: Everyone has a socket below their kitchen cabinets. So everyone has spaces for that. I’ve seen a suggestion before about dishwashers gaining capability to store a vacuum like this under them. I think that would be a great upgrade if a dishwasher company like Bosch could partner with roborock. But in the meantime, I really like you idea about it just sitting underneath cabinets. The huge docking stations are useful but are becoming very unsightly. A set and forget situation would be amazing.
I'll have to wait for the price to come down a little. Dude's tiled area is more than double my apartments total area! I just bought a regular vacuum for the hose attachment to clean out drawers blinds, and window sills, but I'd love a robot vac for the mopping. Can't wait until they give them personalities!
We’ve been using the v7 for three months, it’s ok I guess. When it doesn’t get lost or stuck it does a good job of cleaning. But the software crashes sometimes, the lidar got stuck one time, and the brush gets jammed pretty easy. Not as bad as cleaning yourself but definitely not a miracle.
Great video! I'm jealous 😜 I believe a reusable bag will be available in the future that will hold 6-12 months of debris, but I am not sure when that reusable bag comes out.
Looks like a very compelling product, the bag thing is enough to make me hold off I have to say. If I'm going to spend 2k on something like this it needs to have a reusable bag! Hopefully the 2024 model fixes that issue and then I will buy one!
I haven't tried yet. I'm still using my Alexa Media Player service to trigger an Alexa Routine to start the robot vacuum when I leave and have it return to the dock when I come home.
Yes, it integrates nicely with HA. However, I must warn that you lose the remote video/calling feature with the Xiaomi app integration. Everything else works like a charm!
I like everything about this other then the vacuum bag system. I don't understand in this day and age why anyone would still want to interchange vacuum bags over a dust container.
I can't say that I'm impressed bissel has one that has rotating mop heads. If this robot vacuum were to replace that mop pad with a couple rotating mop heads I'd probably be first one to purchase it.
Hi, would it be good for a very large surface of pvc floors during the washing : how watering is the less amount of water put on the floor by this device? Thank you
I've got two German Shepphards and 3 cats. It takes 2 (both Roborock) vacs to keep up with them in a daily basis. Send that thing my way, I'll see how it does.
I have three floors, and most floors are carpet; the only floors not carpet are the usuals: the bathrooms, kitchen, and front entryway. Would this be a good thing to buy? Probably don't need the Ultra as I only have a couple tiles floors. What do you think?
Just ordered mine after currently having an i7 plus and the Brava Jet m6. Only thing that seems like will be downside is roborock has only 1 year warranty
I know this is an odd question, but wondering if the hose to the dirty water bin and other parts are easy to clean. We use a spot cleaner and since dirty water sits in there and you can't detach them it gets mildewy and gross 🤢. We've tried sucking up vinegar or other cleaning tips, but doesn't quite work. Would love a follow up on that sort of maintenance and what they officially recommend. Also if any if the baby moving parts start failing.
Finely tried a roboVacunme. Had it 1 day. More trouble than it was worth. 😢. Took it back and went back to dust mopping and just plan ol using the upright vacuum.😂. Maybe we will give it another try in 10 more years.
My wife just bought one like this for only 100 bucks and it's neat it's cleaning my basement of a lot of dust gonna get the one that mops the floor will keep the house smelling clean
I love my roborock, think I got the s5. really good price, and adequate for my needs, though self emptying would be nice, the bin is so small. I also have a dyson and it gets stuff the robo doesn't, but the robo does relatively good with light duty cleaning.
Last time I spent 1400 bucks on a vacuum was when I was 22 and dumb, I bought a Kirby that was a huge conversion piece but was heavy AF and extreme overkill
Can you do a video on smart plug ideas & routines? I've seen some ideas throughout your videos but having a dedicated smart plug video would be helpful to come back to.
Looks impressive. Realistically, how much debris can a single tiny pad pick up and hold on to though? That's the thing that's always kept me away from these robot mops. Seems like it would just move dust/dirt around more than collect it.
@@matorres87 hey could you tell me more? I'm considering these robots things but for 1k, I feel like they might not quite be there yet. Do you feel it has moslty replaced your vaccum cleaner? Buyer's remorse? Feel they are worth the price tag? Even for an apartment?
Does the robot + app require active internet connection to function or they work well in a separate iot wifi without internet access? Can you still use the all the app features or it depends on webservices?
Can I take it to 2nd floor and do cleaning without taking heavy dock and bring it downstairs before charging finishes. Please reply ASAP as I might buy today because of sale.
With the bag, are only genuine bags available, or are there after market and maybe reusable bags available? I can understand using a bag to reduce the dust going back into the room. The self emptying and self cleaning would be amazing. These robo-vacs are really starting to become quite sophisticated and are genuinely an alternate to standard vacuuming, rather than just being the gimmick they were just a a few years ago.
I thought I heard about some cleaning solution from Roborock to pour in the tank. I just looked for it and I couldn't find anything about it so maybe not. I'll reach out to them and let you know.
I've been putting vinegar in as well as pet enzyme stuff. I only put a cap full and use good softened water. Although I think using distilled might be better.
Cool and informative presentation. I do have a couple of questions that are outstanding: How is the encryption level between the vacuum and the app? Is it directly connected to the internet via wi-fi or is it connected to the base as a relay or some other hub?
@@shanew7361 lol, that may be, but I am more worried about the teen down the street sneaking into the back yard and driving the vacuum into my daughters bedroom or other ways the camera and remote control capability can be abused.
Lots of things, like your map, are stored locally on the device. To enable remote viewing, you need to hold down a few physical buttons on the device, and only then will an encrypted video feed be available from the app. Keep in mind they only allow you to use the Roborock app, and no 3rd party apps, for remote viewing for security I'd imagine.
Yes what TheGFactor said. You have to physically enable remote viewing by holding down all 3 buttons on the vacuum. Then if someone did guess your Roborock password there is still a different pin to see the remove viewing. To top it off the vacuum says in a loud voice "remote viewing" over and over again so you couldn't sneak it into someone's room without them knowing. But yes the robot vacuum is connected with WiFi. Also all the photos for object detection and everything is stored locally on the robot vacuum.
Did you set this up in Home Assistant? It seems there is a new integration that can be used with the Roborock app directly but there’s a lot of conflicting information.
I have a Roborock S7+ VMax at home and I can recommend it. Though, I'd break all finger of the software engineers, who made it. It is totally non-hackable and you can not improve it's software easily. ATM, my floors are all dirsty for 3rd week, because I am trying to fix it's stupid behaviour of "If I couldn't get there first time, I'll never try again". Also I want to improve the visual navigation... it does not remember the color of the ground and does not pay more attention to dirty areas. Also, I want to code in a patrol-schedule, which will patrol the area at given time intervals and vacuum up anything what does not belong on the floor.
I can’t find anything regarding the app integrations. I know on the hook mentioned home assistant but for those that don’t use that does it work with Alexa or SmartThings?

Looks like a very compelling product, the bag thing is enough to make me hold off I have to say. If I'm going to spend 2k on something like this it needs to have a reusable bag! Hopefully the 2024 model fixes that issue and then I will buy one!
I live in the desert (New Mexico), your recommendation goes a long way!
I think this robot is one of the best but I like the Ecovacs DEEBOT x1
Dude, you really need to talk to your kids lol. Good review
Robotnox is guaranteed for life
Love the irony of that wall-e tshirt
Free stuff is always a good review.
Have you been able to integrate this Roborock model in HA?
That's a good question!
I haven't tried yet. I'm still using my Alexa Media Player service to trigger an Alexa Routine to start the robot vacuum when I leave and have it return to the dock when I come home.
@@SmartHomeSolver Ah I see. Sounds good!
Yes, it integrates nicely with HA. However, I must warn that you lose the remote video/calling feature with the Xiaomi app integration. Everything else works like a charm!
@@lancercncs1822 oh great thanks for the info!
Just got mine today. Thank you
I like everything about this other then the vacuum bag system. I don't understand in this day and age why anyone would still want to interchange vacuum bags over a dust container.
I love your white peg board in your office with the shelves. Could you possibly do a video overview of it?
Yay for Luna! You need Luna merch!
I can't say that I'm impressed bissel has one that has rotating mop heads. If this robot vacuum were to replace that mop pad with a couple rotating mop heads I'd probably be first one to purchase it.
Honestly, I'm impressed how well it cleans. The vibration actually scrubs away some tough spots.
I wonder if they recommend only distilled water to prolong the life of the device?
You should give the Samsung AI+ a try. I just got it and am in love! It can be used as a rover security robot with video.
Hi, would it be good for a very large surface of pvc floors during the washing : how watering is the less amount of water put on the floor by this device? Thank you
Does having two adjectives at the end make it that much better?
S6 MaxV
S7 MaxV Ultra
S8 MaxV Ultra Pro
S9 MaxV Ultra Pro Luxury
S10 MaxV Ultra Pro Luxury Tornado Hurricane Cyclone Monster Edition
I've got two German Shepphards and 3 cats. It takes 2 (both Roborock) vacs to keep up with them in a daily basis. Send that thing my way, I'll see how it does.
I'm sold. Bought.
I have three floors, and most floors are carpet; the only floors not carpet are the usuals: the bathrooms, kitchen, and front entryway. Would this be a good thing to buy? Probably don't need the Ultra as I only have a couple tiles floors. What do you think?
Im debating with this over roomba s9+, what do you think of the s9+ compare to this?
WHat is the difference between this one (price?) and Chinese's Xiaomi? Srch for Xiaomi floor cleaning robot to see if it's the same, better or worse?
Just ordered mine after currently having an i7 plus and the Brava Jet m6. Only thing that seems like will be downside is roborock has only 1 year warranty
How about the availability and serviceability of battery replacement once it dies?
with so many moving parts (esp the dock) i wonder how long it will actually last...
Beautiful video 👍🏼
I know this is an odd question, but wondering if the hose to the dirty water bin and other parts are easy to clean. We use a spot cleaner and since dirty water sits in there and you can't detach them it gets mildewy and gross 🤢. We've tried sucking up vinegar or other cleaning tips, but doesn't quite work. Would love a follow up on that sort of maintenance and what they officially recommend. Also if any if the baby moving parts start failing.
Good question
Been watching you for to long while not being subscribed. Let's change that 🙌
Great review! Thanks, officially subscribed 👍
Hola!! Te sigo desde hace mucho tiempo y quisiera saber cómo hiciste ese rociador que funcionaba para ahuyentar a animales de tu jardín, gracias!!
Great video! Unfortunately it's sold out in US and I have to order from China (for half of the price though).

I love my roborock, think I got the s5. really good price, and adequate for my needs, though self emptying would be nice, the bin is so small. I also have a dyson and it gets stuff the robo doesn't, but the robo does relatively good with light duty cleaning.
Any idea how it does vs a long fur carpet? Thanks. Great vid btw.
I could be mistaken but I’m sure the dock now has a no bag compartment option
Oooh I didn't know it had a proprietary bag for the dock. Expensive?
Last time I spent 1400 bucks on a vacuum was when I was 22 and dumb, I bought a Kirby that was a huge conversion piece but was heavy AF and extreme overkill
Can you do a video on smart plug ideas & routines? I've seen some ideas throughout your videos but having a dedicated smart plug video would be helpful to come back to.
Looks impressive. Realistically, how much debris can a single tiny pad pick up and hold on to though? That's the thing that's always kept me away from these robot mops. Seems like it would just move dust/dirt around more than collect it.
Agreed, I still do deep clean and just use the robot to aid throughout the week.
@@matorres87 hey could you tell me more? I'm considering these robots things but for 1k, I feel like they might not quite be there yet. Do you feel it has moslty replaced your vaccum cleaner? Buyer's remorse? Feel they are worth the price tag? Even for an apartment?
It does a great job as a matter of fact. It goes back to clean the mop during cleaning.
You can set it to wash the mop after every room so you don’t cross contaminate and spread yuck room to room
Does the robot + app require active internet connection to function or they work well in a separate iot wifi without internet access? Can you still use the all the app features or it depends on webservices?
Is Tesla comparison a positive thing ?
I love it! Might have to switch from Roomba and get this one if I upgrade in the near future.
I really want one but we’ve got longer carpet in the bedrooms, does this mean this is completely unsuitable?
Can I take it to 2nd floor and do cleaning without taking heavy dock and bring it downstairs before charging finishes. Please reply ASAP as I might buy today because of sale.
With the bag, are only genuine bags available, or are there after market and maybe reusable bags available?
I can understand using a bag to reduce the dust going back into the room. The self emptying and self cleaning would be amazing. These robo-vacs are really starting to become quite sophisticated and are genuinely an alternate to standard vacuuming, rather than just being the gimmick they were just a a few years ago.
for my s7 plus i bought 20 bags on aliexpress for less than 1 euro each bag, i use 1 bag every 2 months. So yes, there are 3rd party supplies.
Amazing, S6 is great, just the mop and the water tank is one weak point.
This new one, with the dock is really and upgrade. Great job roborock
Lol. Thanks Reed. Great looking vacuum.
I appreciate it Ron!
First time watching a video on your channel, it was a very well done review compared to others i watched.
Awesome! Coincidentally I have the same flooring but can you pour cleaning liquid mixed with the water inside the tank?
I thought I heard about some cleaning solution from Roborock to pour in the tank. I just looked for it and I couldn't find anything about it so maybe not. I'll reach out to them and let you know.
I have the Roborock S5 MaxV and have been using the Swiffer Wetjet cleaning liquid in it for over a year without any issue at all.
China is watching
@@shanew7361 lol, that may be, but I am more worried about the teen down the street sneaking into the back yard and driving the vacuum into my daughters bedroom or other ways the camera and remote control capability can be abused.
@@TheGarpttsr Better get a fancy password thingie lol yea I hear ya, I'm sure government already spies on us or buys the info from Google etc.
Can I use this with Alexa, set it up to tell it clean specific rooms etc? 🙃
Please consider to compare it to the ihome Nova iHRV6-BLK, but this thing looks awesome and its sold out already!
I would think that the mop would need to be cleaned after every room no?
I got the S5 and now the S6 Max and I really like them. The price of this one is... a bit too high though.
Those are still both amazing vacuums!
Roidmi Eva is less expensive and quite the same (even better in my point of view for what I expect)
I can’t find anything regarding the app integrations. I know on the hook mentioned home assistant but for those that don’t use that does it work with Alexa or SmartThings?
Has anyone ever told you that you sound like Tim Cook? Great vid thanks.
Is it also like a tesla in terms of repairability? (serious question)
Tell me the Toyota of vacuums because I would like it work like an appliance and more importantly be able to get it fixed if it breaks
