Spot on about the inane chit-chat in so many videos . Maybe sub-titles would help , then we could choose turn the voice ..or any distracting background music ) off 🤔
GREAT tutorial! I’ve so been looking for this info from someone who doesn’t spend 30 min talking about their cat, boyfriend, shipping etc. GREAT job and thank you for taking the time to share ur experience!❤
I could cry, thank you for this! Went to the salon and asked for a level 5 brown. She colored my hair black, and when I texted her about it she told me she wasn’t going to do anything to fix it (????). I used this method on mostly dry hair and left it in for about an hour, and my hair came out to be a nice chocolate brown. I’ll probably have to do another treatment to remove a few stubborn dark spots, but I already feel a million times more confident. Thank you 🤍
I have an even better story My hair was bleached at platinum blonde and I asked for a bit darker blond and then she literally died it permanent black.. Yeah no joke I dont know what she did there.
For those who are skeptical, this does work. I had dyed my hair pitch black with BOX dye. I was very doubtful it would work on me but it did! I got a ~50 tabs Vitamin C bottle and Head and Shoulders Shampoo. I didnt even boil it. Straight up applied it on dry hair. Used about half in one go. Kept it on for 3-4 hrs each time. It was evident from the first try itself. Then the second try was even better. My hair is a completely different colour now. I wish i could post a before and after image here So before you try those expensive products, do try this one out first. I'm so relieved. I was so worried. I applied two boxes of blonde dye on black dyed hair and that didnt work at all. This worked like a charm. EDIT: So before trying this treatment, i foolishly thought that applying blonde dye on my black hair will work. but it didnt. not even a bit of that black dye changed. Then after the two treatments, i dyed my hair blonde again today (after about 2-3 weeks) and my hair has completely changed colour. It's medium brown now. Not as light as virgin hair would go but a huge change. It worked and im so happy!!! I'm sure another round of blonde dye will completely lighten it how i want.
Same here but I also have gray hair too. I bought jet black trying to fight grays. Wasn't happy so next. I wanted a copper look got it and should have known that copper would not cover such dark hair. So the copper made my grays orange. Not exactly copper. So now I'm going for a burgundy look and from my past mistake. I realized that I need to lift that jet black first. I'm new to this hair color thing and was led to this life saving video. Thanks for sharing your story. I do have vitamin c and I hope to get my hair color right.
Champion! Loved that your video was straight to the point and showed results. I honestly cried in the hairdressers with my black hair. Doing this tonight!
I tried this today on my black dyed hair and it kind of stripped the color, but not entirely. I've dyed my hair every month and a half for 2 years with non ammonia salon dye, so if that's your case too, you might need to repeat this method more times. But I can see it working, you just need patience! ❤
I have no idea how but this tutorial really worked as an undo button when I dyed my hair with a demi permanent brown that came out wayyyy too dark. A real life saver!
I literally did the same, did a 6n demi as a toner and went from natural dirty blonde + highlights to freaking BROWN!! Panic driving to Walmart rn for these items haha. What’s the ratio you used that worked for you?
Just wanted to say thank you because this was the first video I watched about how to remove black box dye without damage and went out bought the stuff and it worked!!!! Saved me money and the health of my hair. 💜
As a redhead I used this formula and it worked!!! I generally like my red a nice light strawberry blonde, I accidentally overtoned it to a deep deep burgundy. Used a professional line of clarifying shampoo which barely budged it. Then I used this formula about 4 days later- left it on my head for 45 minutes & im back to strawberry blonde. Even as a stylist, you saved my life with this little hack. I didn’t have the money to pay any of my coworkers and I didn’t want to use lightener on myself. 10/10
I wanted to ask if this works on red hair ,and u appeared🥰🥰Thank you for your feedback.I didn't colored my hair for about 3months now so I'm curious how it goes 🙏🏼
Just adding my comment that this definitely worked for me! I have a work conference to go to in two days and ended up with BLACK hair instead of what I was expecting to be a light ash brown! I tried the clarifying shampoo several times and coconut oil as I had heard that could lighten hair. Nothing worked, but this!! I followed exactly what Christiana did and my hair is so much better. I need to repeat the process tomorrow to get rid of some dark spots, but at least now I feel like I can go out in public! Thank you for this video and like others have said, that it was to the point with exactly what needed to be done.
This was the best tutorial I’ve seen for this process! I just tried it and I’m awe struck that it worked so well! Stripped deep Violet right out I can see my blonde highlights again! Plus my hair is silky smooth! Thank you!
Did you do this with washed or unwashed hair?? About to do this myself, I have 2+years of boxed darkest brown hair dye on my hair and would love to go back to a medium brown. I just don't know if hair is supposed to be unwashed or not. No one doesn't specify it 😅
Two words: family photos. I am so lucky I ran into this video! The comments gave me hope and as a ginger that went dark I did not have much. Works like a charm. Thank you!
Thank you for posting this video, this really works. Tip if you don't have a blender, break the tablets with a heavy tool and soak them in the shampoo until soft, they will dissolve and turn into a smooth paste.
THANK YOU !!! I can’t believe i’m sitting here writing that it works. I previously had a beautiful blonde balayage. I asked for it to be dyed Ash Brown at the salon to match my roots and she dyed it very dark brown. LOL i was mortified, thought there was no going back - I tried this method 3 days after the salon and it’s lightened my hair heaps especially at the ends where the blond was. I’m going to do another round soon but i’m so sorry happy!! ( my hair feels healthy)
I forgot to add the water in the mix (oops), heated it on the stove top and it still worked great! I may do it again in a couple days. Saved me a $145 salon visit. I’d post pictures if I could! Amazing info and thank you!
This is LEGIT! Thank you - times a million! So thankful for this tutorial! I was skeptical, but after doing some research not only does this method not damage, but from what I gathered it’s actually good for your hair so I thought why not!?! So glad I did! The results were perfect! I am so happy! I went from an accidental almost black color back to my nearly natural color in one round! I was shocked! 🙌❤️
I left it on 30 minutes. Went from dark black to dark brown, tint of red. I had professional caramel highlights then box colored my hair to dark brown. It turned too dark, like pitch black. This helps a lot! I just wanted to lift a little, but I am not crazy about the minor tint of red, but that's probably part of the color of the hair dye I used. Thanks!!
What did the highlights look like after you removed the dark color from your hair? I box dyed my heavily highlighted hair and now I hate it! I"m just worried about what will happen to the bleached highlights if I remove the dark box dye.
@@bourbonfarmhouseThis happens all the time with box dyes, I just used a no 7 on my hair which is supposed to be dark blonde! It came out really dark brown and I hate it. I have always used a no 7 no problem but stupidly I tried a new brand and this was the result. I will definitely try this, thanks for posting!!
I colored my hair and it turned out black eventhough the box says brown. GRRRRRR! I tried this method and it did work. It really helped removing this black color. It's not perfectly back to my brown color but it's a lot better. I will do this again in a couple of days. Thank you very much Christiana for sharing this tip.
Girl, this works! After hairdresser charging me $90 to do a Malibu CPR treatment on me claiming the very, very dark brown almost black color lightened. (I did not see any improvement). Then she said since she got some “movement” she wants to do another in a few weeks. NOT!!! I’m not made of money 😡 I decided to give this a shot. I put it on and sat under heat for 45 minutes. I’m not gonna lie, when I rinsed it out and shampooed again my hair felt “not good” but nothing that deep conditioning would not fix. I did a hair masque using heat for a bit, rinsed out and did a leave in conditioner. The color… not almost black any longer! It’s still too dark brown in the lower part of the back, but I will repeat in a few days. But girl, I’m impressed. Thank you so much for sharing!❤❤❤
15 or so vitamin C tablets crushed to a powder mixed with dish liquid into a suitable consistency (add more dish liquid to spread it, not water), massage well into hair, wrap hair tightly with glad wrap and wash out after 1.5hrs, fixes my hair every time, even gets dark red semi permanent out, similar as to what she did. Condition well. Repeat after a few days if you need to. Doesn't damage hair at all
Dyed my hair black and decided i wanted to go back brown and i tried this and it worked! It also made my hair so so shiny and soft. I might do it again just because my hair was super dark but definitely satisfied and never heard of this technique until i saw your video, thank you sm!!
Got my hair professionally dyed “chocolate brown” that literally just came out black. This method is the GOAT. I also added some dawn dish soap to the mixture and let it sit for an hour. Saw dye literally pour out of my hair when rinsing it off
I used this to get out a very dark grey colour from my boyfriend's beard and it got him to the bleached blonde before that. I didn't boil anything and added only a small amount of luke warm water so that the vitamin C won't be destroyed. Thank you.
Yes! I love this method. It works really well. I’ve been removing color with head and shoulders and crushed vitamin c for about 3 years now with so much success whenever I regret a certain color. I love how simple and straightforward this tutorial is. Perfect. 😁
Curious if you colored hair after doing this, and if the color turned out too dark again? Wondering if this treatment affects hair chemistry and subsequent colorings.
@@lilstardust777 after this color removal method, I have dyed my hair light and also dark. I’m not an expert at all, but what I can say is that my hair turned out perfectly the colors I wished to dye it. I have zero complaints. My hair is soft with this technique, and doesn’t get fried or turn into hay like when I have used the “color oops” products before. I’m so happy to know and use this now when I want to remove color. My latest color removal was to dye my hair a lighter color, and it’s worked great. I really do recommend it. I leave it on for about 45 minutes. Depending on how dark my hair has been dyed, the most I have needed to use was 3-4 times of doing this to remove all of the color. I wait about 1-2 days in between and keep going until I’m happy with the removal. Then I usually wait another day or two to dye it. But I have dyed it the same day too and I’ve been happy with all of my results. I’ve ranged from honey blonde to dark brown, both light to dark and dark to light and back and forth 😊, and this technique is amazing.
It worked!!! Thank you so so so much. I dyed my hair mid brown and hated it, thanks to you my natural hair color came back, I thought it’s gone forever 😅
Worked for me got rid of lilac, I put cling film on my head, brilliant holds heat in. Yours looks nice natural. First time I’ve seen my natural colour since 1986, platinum blonde still at 68, chuffed. x
I used the lilac color of the year. Lol. Hated it on my gray hair - what was I thinking. But I loved what it did on my dyed hair that was dyed dark blonde but had lightened
I have black hair ( box dye) for 15 years. My original is greyish brown not that nice brown. I tried the Colourless today and my hair is not that black already but still too dark. Do you think this would help me ?
Thank you so much, I thought I needed a change so I went crazy. I DYED my hair purple. YES, purple. I;m 59 and wanted to go wild. Big Big mistake lol. I followed your directions and I'm back to being a natural blonde, no streaks just me and my grey and blonde. If I think about going crazy again I will fill the tub with ice water and take the plunge. Thank you again.
you just saved my life. i had purchased the wrong color and did not realized until after the fact. just did this, might have to do one more time, but thank you. worked really well
Last night I used Age Beautiful permanent hair dye, (1/2) 5n mixed with (1/2) 4n and volume 10 developer, even though I had done a strand test, the result was much darker than I had wanted. This morning I used 20x 1000mg vitamin c tablets whirled to a powder, and added head and shoulders shampoo. Spreading it over the top of my head where my hair had been dyed, i wet my hands just enough to make the mixture spread through. Covered with a plastic bag, went over it with a hair dryer for a couple minutes to warm it up, and let it sit for 1.5 hours. Thank goodness this worked for me. Just lifted enough of the dye where I can see my natural red brown again. Also worth mentioning is that my hair seems just as healthy now as prior to the treatment. Thank you for posting this video and for all the people who left comments, you helped me a lot.
The brown suits you so much more. It brings warmth to your skin, and looks more natural. I was always a fan of black hair, but I am pretty fair, and it makes me loose all my warmth. A dark chocolate warm tone brown would be pretty (if you go dark again), now I just do medium brown myself. My natural hair color is light brown / dark blonde. Eventhough my eyes are the darkest brown, I just look like a vampire with black hair, and not in a good way. The warmer tones just make a lot of peoples complexion have a warm “glow.” Awesome job! I’m currently stripping pink from my hair using the same method! I want to go a warm light blonde. Wish me luck 🍀😁
Although I'm olive skinned naturally I have natural light brown hair dyed it black looks cool on Me but unfortunately the roots are so light I just wanna go back brown and have a more natural look with some blonde highlights. Maybe x
This really worked.!!! My overly dark brown dyed hair went lighter......I did this the day after dying my hair. I used powdered Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) mixed with a little hot water to dissolve and squirted in some natural dandruff shampoo that contained tar. I doubled the recipe because my hair is very long. I basically just poured the stuff (about a cup of thin liquid) over my head and scrubbed it in really well. I wrapped my hair in plastic and left it on for 45-60 minutes.....then rinsed it out and washed with the dandruff shampoo and then a neem shampoo and conditioner. I am very happy with the end result. Thank you so much for this utube.
Thank you so much!!! Omg you saved my hair. I’ve used oops to remove just a week ago. Re colored and it just grabbed too dark. It was a light brown that went completely black. I followed this video to a T and my hair is perfect! Nice lighter brown. Also it doesn’t dry your hair at all!! My hair is already so damaged and this left it so soft. I did use a good conditioner after but even before my hair was soft. I cannot thank you enough!!!!
Ahh that makes me so happy! I'm thrilled that you were able to get good results from this method. And that's great to hear that it didn't make your hair feel dry. Im sorry you had to go through all of that in the first place...I've been there 🙋🏻♀️ Thank you for letting me know how it went! Have a great rest of your weekend!
Omg this happened to me too!! I thought I was going crazy. I was black.. went orange.. added a light brown auburn…. Went to rise it and I couldn’t believe my eyes. It literally looked black again. I’m so grateful I found this!! I’m definitely using this treatment now!!
I used this after my brown hair color turned my hair black. It worked great and my hair is now a nice warm brown!!! I even forgot to wet my hair first and just wet it after all the mix was applied. Thank you!!!
I'm literally going on a vacation tomorrow and I cannot wait to remove this witch-like unnatural black dye from my hair! I almost cried lol! I hope this will work! Thank you very much
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! My 400 casting creme (dark brown semi permanent) turned out an angry reddish black (uuuurgh) and my disappointment was on the verge of hysteria, but YOU have saved the day! I followed exactly your tips and now i have a more palletable classy looking chestnut brown. I can turn up at work tomorrow without embarrassment.
This works! I colored my hair with a semi permanent color and it turned out to be too dark. Used this method and it definitely took out the harsh dark tone!
This actually SAVED my hair. I couldnt be happier!! Ive dyed my hair at home and it went 5 shades darker than on the box. I was so insecure, this gave me my confidence back ♥️ and to anyone doubting YES it does work!
That's awesome! Glad you're happier with your hair and feel more confident. I'm sure you were beautiful with the dark hair as well, but as long as you feel good, that's what matters! Have a great week!
Will this completely take out the hair dye or just lighten? Accidentally dyed my hair black when I was looking to get a dark/medium brown. Thanks in advanced!
@@rachelshunk4398 it lightened it and it did left orange cast in the sunlight but its super even and doesn’t look too bad. I dont think results would be any better with color remover. This did leave my hair drier than before but not damaged. Worth a try 😊
I used "C Salts" and didn't have the patience to wait, so I will try again on a better, calmer day with your exact instructions. I like your recipe better than what I've seen on another page. 👌
Used this method the other day my hair was previously dyed blue black and was showing forms of brown. The blue black faded fast which was surprising, now my hair is a brownish red. Great method ! It also makes your hair shiny if anyone experienced that.
Thank you so much for sharing!! I used Wella 5N Light Brown and it turned jet black, I was so devastated! I tried this and it worked!! I did this twice, it didn't take all the black out but I'm happy with the results, my hair is black and light brown now. THANKS AGAIN!!!
So, I did try it today. My hair had a few applications/layers of Clairol Herbal Instincts cool medium brown on it. It covered the gray I have, which is not a lot, but I wanted to go back to my natural color with the gray again. This hair color is semi permanent. Anyway, after I tried your concoction, I washed my hair again and used a rich hair conditioner. I still see no gray, but it did seem to lighten that color that was too dark for me, so I'm happy with it for now. It did zero damage to my hair.
@@JardineFlower My hair was died black and this method turned it much lighter. It was lighter than my natural color, almost blonde, it had an orange-ish tint to it at first, but after a few washes is settled to a beautiful auburn blonde. So I guess it was not a true blonde but It definitely removed the black.
I can't believe this worked. I had brown hair and I bleached one part. After five months, I got the desire to return it to the old one, but the brown paint was received as black. After just one treatment, my hair is soft and silky and now the same brown color as before. I am very happy and this really works. Thank youu, you saved my life 💗
Wow😱 Wow 😱 Wow 😱😱😱 this really worked. I cannot believe it. I was very concerned because I have kinky curly hair so I decided to leave the paste on for two hours. What a miracle, I am astounded with the results. Thank you very much for sharing this fantastic tip.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This absolutely works!! Just watched your video this morning!! I just finished and my hair has gone from almost black, back to a lighter brown with some red tones. I am going to do it one more time tomorrow and it should be good 👍🏼 Thank you very much!!
O m g !!!! I need to comeback here to say THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO 😢😢😢 yesterday i had my dark hair it's because the lady in saloon she did a mistake , my balayage hair turn into black hair 😢😢😢 , and I searched in tiktok and youtube , Thanks God and to you , you helped me a lot , I've been stressful since yesterday , you save my LIFE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you soooo much ,
This has been the only thing to make my permanent hair dye budge! My hair is a light ash brown and my dye came out too dark & too red. So far I’ve done this twice - first time for 45 min, second time for 2 hours. Both times I could see some dye wash out but it might take a few times to get it all out. I did experience some Skin burning the first time, so the next time I put Vaseline on my face before I showered and it helped protect my skin. I’m going to try one more time in a few days but try to apply some heat while my hair is wrapped up to see if that helps. Fingers crossed! But thank you for this video!!
@@markalejandrox I've watched this about 30 times. Ok so she used 100 Vitamin C pills (1 bottle of 500 mg tablets) & for the Head & Shoulders...3 ounces ....so just use a 1/2 measuring cup & fill 3 quarters of it w the shampoo. I hope this helps u!! I'm about to do this any minute now!! Wish me luck haha!!😩😂💕💕
Thanks for this video, it worked for me! I had demi-permanent color that went way too dark, I tried so many different things that barely made a difference but this one actually lifted a couple shades!
Aww so happy for you! Thank you so much for your comment. Glad it worked for you ♥️ that's all I wanted when I made this video. Was to help people who were dealing with the same thing I was get out of that situation 🤦🏻♀️ lol
I dont really write a comment or review anything. But i swear to god this technique is legit and this girl should be rewarded with love of the community. My hair was pitch black and its now dark caramel or chocolate color . Its the perfect match for my hair color. Respect and love 🥰
I did this today. I didn't have the head and shoulders shampoo , I used a clarifying shampoo . I let it sit for 1 hr. My hair was the darkest brown and now it's a lighter brown it doesn't look as dark. My hair is curly so I attempt to use healthy ways in my hair care routine. This didn't dry my hair or any other damage I could tell. I did use a deep conditioner after just as a precaution after such a treatment. I'm pleased with the results. I may try to do it again next week. I'm naturally a dark blonde and this dark color I thought would be a good look hasn't been. Thank you for a healthy way to lift dye from the hair.
i am trying this on 6 years of black hair dye will update edit: okay i tried this method twice on my hair and i dye my hair black about a month before this after doing it twice and then 1 round of color remover my hair was at it original light brown i cant not express how amazing this method is and works soo good
I got back my natural hair color after dyeing it with almost black permanent professional dye. I got it back with C vitamin and head and shoulders. I did that method for at least 5 times. After the first few I managed to fade out the black, but my hair was a faded red. My natural haircolor was mousybrown, so I kept doing the head and shoulders and vitamin c!! for me it was the full success. I managed to get my natural hair color back. I am so proud! I left in on my hair between 40 minutes and 1 hour. I left it once 2,5 hour, and it worked more, than when I left it on just for 1 hour. I used C vitamin ashes, not the tablets!!
I am going to try this, I have dyed my hair with semi permanent dye. Dark brown. I want my grays back. Don't know if it takes away all the dye, but it is worth the try !!
Yes, I did. That wasn't a good idea for me. It did not look good after I had done that. But that was because I have already grown out my grays 5 cm. So today I have bleached my hair, and dyed it ask brown, because it looked so bad..... I didn't dye my gray parts though!
dyed my hair "dark brown" the other day over this orange colour i had gotten professionally done OVER my beautiful blonde balayaged hair with my natural root.. the dark brown turned into black and i HATE IT and want my blonde balayage back.. hopefully this works
@@avaritzel5910 no it legit did fuck all I don’t understand how this works, I even tried two different types of VIT c and I got the exact shampoo, I had dyed my hair 3 days before trying this I don’t get ittt
Valérie Rose Cherrier i dyed my hair last week a medium brown , turned out to be almost BLACK over my beautiful dirty blonde with natural super blonde highlights ... HUGE MISTAKE. it said semi permanent but now im feeling like it will never come out. Ive tried everything dawn soap, Colour remover , vitamin C, baking soda and shampoo, etc. Nothing!!! I think im just going to have to get it done at a salon):
It worked for me. I went to a new hair colorist and she dyed my hair charcoal black, my worst nightmare. I left it on for 45 minutes and I’m soooooo happy.
So I tried the shampoo and vitamin c and, I definitely see results, I probably will have to do it one more time to get the color I want, also it burns your skin so definitely wear gloves, but it was the safest thing to use, thanks once again.👍🙋
Hope it worked out for you! Thanks for the tip about the gloves. The mixture didn't bother me at all, so I didn't think to recommend gloves. But I'm sure it would irritate sensitive skin since there is vitamin C in it! Thank you for your comment!
This worked SO well! I had a deep blue faded into emerald, but I made a mistake and I went into a pool, (ya know, CHLORINE) and it faded it really badly and it turned like a dusty version of those colors. I lightened my hair right before putting the colors in, and when I tried this, it turned my hair right back to blonde! Thank you so much! I recommend this SO MUCH! Although, it left some little splashes of emerald, but they weren’t noticeable. If I just get brown dye to dye my hair back to normal, you wouldn’t even know those splashes were there! I can’t say this enough, thank you!
Wow! When I saw this today, I immediately check for Vitamin C (which luckily I have a new bottle and a head & shoulder shampoo from my bf) my vitamin C is in capsules form so I don’t have to use blender. I used20pcs of the capsules, shampoo and lil warm water and soaked my hair 40mins with cover and damn my 1 weeks dyed hair that is super black is now lighter than it was 🥰 so happy to saw this vid. I saved money and mostly I save my hair from dying 😅😅😅😘 Thanks a lot! I will do it again because it’s freaking easy.
I got to try this one I did the baking soda and apple cider vinegar didn’t work at all. I’m going to try this one. Thank you for sharing your video.😁👌 it came out gorgeous 😊👌
For anyone that is about to try this, use the exact Vitamin C that she does!! I tried another brand and it did NOT work at all! I did it two separate times for an hour each and my hair didn’t budge. Then I bought the brand she used in this video and my goodness did the color came right out! It really does work! So I highly recommend using exactly what she uses to hopefully get good results! :)
I just found your video and I'm already so excited.. Have wasted so much money buying lighter shades of hair colors but didn't worked... Would definitely try this tomorrow.... Thanks in advance!
It definitely worked - however, my grandson experienced burning from the vitamin C and Head and Shoulders combo. We researched it and others experienced that, also. Others may not be as sensitive to the chemical combo.
Theres alot if reviews from ppl saying th same and if u google it alot of ppl and sites say the same thing whilst it may not happen to u its important ppl know it can indeed happen
♥️ thank you!! I’ll try this. Was coloring my hair strawberry blond from a level 9 copper blonde and it turned a level 6 ash red. Was trying for level 8 strawberry. I’ll try this! Thanks so much 💕🍓💕🍓💕
I confirm, I did it too and the brown came gorgeous: I suggest doing it once, then wait some days, because the colour may change a little. Repeat if necessary. I suggest staying away from the roots (they could come out lighter) until you got the right colour on the lenghts!
I'm so happy I saw this. I was going to bleach my hair tomorrow but I really didn't want to because I've been taking such good care of it this past year. I don't even use heat but my hair has so many colors in it I just have to lighten it and figure out what's going on. I'm happy everyone said it worked!
Since you have shorter hair, would you recommend to double or triple the recipe for medium to long? Thanks you , can’t wait to try!! I’ve had black dyed hair like yours for 10 years! Wish me luck 🤪
How many times do you dye your hair. I dyed mine a lot with dark brown dye. I want to try it as well but not to sure how well it will work since there a lot of dye over the years
I have dyed it for a while but I tried this and it worked but I feel like I am gonna have to do this more often to really lighten it like how hers turned out. Plus black is hard to get out versus just freshly dyed black hair. I also didn’t do the best job at grinding the Vit c so it didn’t penetrate the best. Overall it works but it will take a few tries to lighten by summer time
Wow, this is awesome. Thanks for doing this I'm definitely going to try this. I just dyed my hair last night and got it trimmed today and I really don't want to dye it again.
Ladies, I'm very tempted to try this method, the only issue, I have long hair(till my butt) and it is colored black for decades, my natural color is brown and now I wish to go back to it. I haven't dyed my hair for months now, so I would really appreciate if you can tell me did this work for you if you had your color for long time. Thanks in advance, loved the video 😍👌👍
When I (rarely) get a color that I like from the salon, it washes out in 2 weeks. This time they colored it DARK BROWN ALMOST BLACK (I did not want this!!) And it will NOT BUDGE. I've washed it 20 times in baking soda, Dawn, Epsom salt, etc and all it's done is rough up the cuticle and made it look worse. I have had nothing but BAD experiences at "hair salons" for the past 12 plus years!!!! Why do they NOT LISTEN TO THE CLIENT ANYMORE?? I'm praying this method with Vit C and Head and Shoulders will work for me because nothing else has and I'm afraid to use developer with baking soda. Or "hair color remover" kits.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Last night I used L'Oreal root touch up on my gray. I've used it before with no issues. This time my hair came out black with no shine at all. It was so bad! I went out and bought Vitamin C and Head & Shouders. (I used an electric coffee grinder to break up the Vitamin C tablets). I followed your instructions and, voila, my hair is brown again. A real lifesaver!
Hello ma'am I watched other videos n then I saw this one. It was short n simply. I got small bottle of head n shoulder shampoo n vitamin c. I dyed my hair it went way too dark. MA'AM IT WORKED😊😊😊😊💕 THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO

Thank you 🤍
So glad it worked for you! Thank you for sharing! ♥️
Same thing happened to me recently
I have an even better story
My hair was bleached at platinum blonde and I asked for a bit darker blond and then she literally died it permanent black..
Yeah no joke I dont know what she did there.
Omg me too!!! I wanted a light brown color!😭
@@Mamassunshine need to be wet hair before proces, or not..?
For those who are skeptical, this does work. I had dyed my hair pitch black with BOX dye. I was very doubtful it would work on me but it did! I got a ~50 tabs Vitamin C bottle and Head and Shoulders Shampoo. I didnt even boil it. Straight up applied it on dry hair. Used about half in one go. Kept it on for 3-4 hrs each time. It was evident from the first try itself. Then the second try was even better. My hair is a completely different colour now. I wish i could post a before and after image here
So before you try those expensive products, do try this one out first. I'm so relieved. I was so worried. I applied two boxes of blonde dye on black dyed hair and that didnt work at all. This worked like a charm.
EDIT:
So before trying this treatment, i foolishly thought that applying blonde dye on my black hair will work. but it didnt. not even a bit of that black dye changed.
Thank you for sharing that with everyone! So happy it worked for you!
Does the head and shoulders have to be the original or can it be the 2 in 1kind
@@angiescott342 i think it can be any kind as long as it is anti-dandruff. but im not 100% sure sorry😔 mine was a simple shampoo
@@Mamassunshine you saved me so much money. this was the least i could do! thank you.
I did same cried when I got home did it work Christina
@@adina3901 did it work????? i has them do a toner its dark from honey brown to dark today???????
Gona give it a try
@@louiseworrell-qd1tm and? did ot work
Just wanted to say thank you because this was the first video I watched about how to remove black box dye without damage and went out bought the stuff and it worked!!!! Saved me money and the health of my hair. 💜
How much water and shampoo did you use; she didn't specify in the video?
So so happy it worked for you! Thank you for your sweet comment. Sorry my reply is 4 months later 🤦🏻♀️ but I really do appreciate your kind words.
Yep, this totally worked for me too!! Though I’m naturally a medium brown. After this treatment I am back to being light brown 😮
No one doesn't specify it 😅
Omgoodness that's sooo amazing🤯
Does it leave your hair patchy ?
I'm so glad it helped you! 🥰 Have a blessed day!
Good ol' mums always helping us out
Haha yes!
Hi, witch color die you have after the treatment? ❤
It really works?? I have black color hair
Yes it works, but only do it once! I was so happy with my results after the first time I decided to do it again, but the first was perfect! 😊
Did you ever manage to get the tint of red out?
I colored my hair and it turned out black eventhough the box says brown. GRRRRRR! I tried this method and it did work. It really helped removing this black color. It's not perfectly back to my brown color but it's a lot better. I will do this again in a couple of days. Thank you very much Christiana for sharing this tip.
Did you use brown permanent hair dye
Doesn't damage hair at all
Can I use any shampoo or it should really be head and shoulders?
Dish liquid will be bad for the hair :(
@@SoyLaEll3 you can use dawn.
I hope that you're using DAWN Dish Liquid. It's safe enough for kittens.
I tried it today and it helped alot saved me from spending $300 at a salon for color correction
$300?! That's crazy! 🤯 So glad it helped you! Thank you for the comment!
Dyed my hair black and decided i wanted to go back brown and i tried this and it worked! It also made my hair so so shiny and soft. I might do it again just because my hair was super dark but definitely satisfied and never heard of this technique until i saw your video, thank you sm!!
How long did you have it black before you decided to try this?
Did it end up patchy? I'm scared to try this.
Got my hair professionally dyed “chocolate brown” that literally just came out black. This method is the GOAT. I also added some dawn dish soap to the mixture and let it sit for an hour. Saw dye literally pour out of my hair when rinsing it off
Was the dye permanent
That is wonderful to hear! So happy for you! Thank you for sharing 😊♥️
Most of my natural color is half ways through except the bottom part its light brown and ima give this a try 🙏🙏hope it works for me
It totally worked on my natural instincts BLACK hair dye that wouldn’t budge before. Thank you! 🙏🏾
I can’t thank you enough for this trick.
It worked for me like a charm.
Thank you again girl 👍
you just saved my life. i had purchased the wrong color and did not realized until after the fact.
just did this, might have to do one more time, but thank you. worked really well
Last night I used Age Beautiful permanent hair dye, (1/2) 5n mixed with (1/2) 4n and volume 10 developer, even though I had done a strand test, the result was much darker than I had wanted.
Yay! That's awesome. So glad it worked for you ♥️ thank you for sharing!
Thank you will try that coz my hair is also long
It worked!!!!!! I used Vit. C powder and Dawn only. It took out my burgundy coloring 😮 TY for this video!!
Im sorry you had to go through all of that in the first place...I've been there 🙋🏻♀️
Thank you for letting me know how it went!

I followed exactly your tips and now i have a more palletable classy looking chestnut brown. I can turn up at work tomorrow without embarrassment.
This works! I colored my hair with a semi permanent color and it turned out to be too dark. Used this method and it definitely took out the harsh dark tone!
You are a life saver, Christiana. This really works. Thank you!!

Same happened to me, wells 5N is super dark, way darker than I expected gonna try this method to remove it
So, I did try it today.
You saved my hair !! I was looking horrible with that black color !! Thank you 🙏🏻
OMG was kinda skeptical at first but I was desperate. I went from black dyed hair to blonde!! Sooo happy!! Thankyou!

No, but when you wash your hair it starts to glow a little bit

I died my hair dark brown and it came out way too dark. I freaked out! I can’t thank you enough. I seriously love you. I’m serious I love you. 😳😭
did you have permanent or semi permanent hair dye in??
This has been the only thing to make my permanent hair dye budge! My hair is a light ash brown and my dye came out too dark & too red. So far I’ve done this twice - first time for 45 min, second time for 2 hours. Both times I could see some dye wash out but it might take a few times to get it all out. I did experience some Skin burning the first time, so the next time I put Vaseline on my face before I showered and it helped protect my skin. I’m going to try one more time in a few days but try to apply some heat while my hair is wrapped up to see if that helps. Fingers crossed! But thank you for this video!!
Did it work once you added heat?
This WORKED!!! I love you for doing this!! Omg!!

I looked at many videos and I found yours the easiest with the best results. It really worked for me. Thank you so much.
I'm so glad to hear that it worked out for you! Thank you for letting me know ♥️ Have a blessed weekend!

That was a simple and great method. Loved your easy presentation style. Very upbeat!!
Thank you so much!
Your natural hair colour is beautiful! 😍
Hi.. have you done it yet? I plan to do the same as you, to get greys.. never seen myself with grey hair. 😊
Yes, I did. That wasn't a good idea for me. It did not look good after I had done that. But that was because I have already grown out my grays 5 cm. So today I have bleached my hair, and dyed it ask brown, because it looked so bad..... I didn't dye my gray parts though!

How exactly did you do it? I am asking because I also got my hair dyed black at the salon around 2 months ago!
@@Salted.caramelo have you tried this yet? I’ve had mine dyed for a year now so idk if it’ll have an effect on my hair ):
@@Salted.caramelo Seems most salons charge big $$$$ nowadays just to ruin people's hair.....
SO happy for you! Glad it was able to help! It's my pleasure ☺️
I had burning to and my hair literally smoked and melted off
@@jessicawhitfield5674 yeah no that didn’t happen unless you put something else in there
I had absolutely nothing else in there and it exactly what happened it literally melted my hair off and burnt like hell
@@jessicawhitfield5674 vitamin c and shampoo does not do that to hair. You had to have had something other than vitamin c and/or shampoo.
Theres alot if reviews from ppl saying th same and if u google it alot of ppl and sites say the same thing whilst it may not happen to u its important ppl know it can indeed happen
Thank you so much for sharing such an effective method. This video is very useful. It works ❤. It works 👍💯. It works 👏👏👏👏❤❤❤
I suggest staying away from the roots (they could come out lighter) until you got the right colour on the lenghts!
omg is this my sign???? i have black and am so bored of it
I'm so happy I saw this. I was going to bleach my hair tomorrow but I really didn't want to because I've been taking such good care of it this past year. I don't even use heat but my hair has so many colors in it I just have to lighten it and figure out what's going on.
I'm happy everyone said it worked!
Let me know if it works pls!
Just to say thank you very much for your video. It did work on my black hair. Excellent.
Absolutely works.. fast and easy method. Thank you ❤
So nice video, your mom helping you was so cute 🥰
Overall it works but it will take a few tries to lighten by summer time
It WORKED I USED THIS METHOD IT WORKED THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO
Please, can you tell me, if you used the same exact vitamin brand or just any kind of vitamin c?
@@lucystankus hi:) it can be any vitamin c brand it truly doesn't matter
I just came across your video now… very insightful🎉
Please, can I also use this method on a jet black weavon?
Wow, this is awesome. Thanks for doing this I'm definitely going to try this. I just dyed my hair last night and got it trimmed today and I really don't want to dye it again.
Thank you for your kind comment! I hope it works out for you ♥️
both colors look good, I actually liked the black on you
Ladies, I'm very tempted to try this method, the only issue, I have long hair(till my butt) and it is colored black for decades, my natural color is brown and now I wish to go back to it. I haven't dyed my hair for months now, so I would really appreciate if you can tell me did this work for you if you had your color for long time. Thanks in advance, loved the video 😍👌👍
This is the exact question I'm asking. Have you tried it yet?
I would say try it in a small piece of hair for the beginning to see if it works and if yes then do the whole hair
Same her
Did it work for you? I’ve had black hair for 8 years
@@lauramontesino6080 it didnt :/
Can we immediately dye the hair after this ?
Hey! Did it work? Please respond
Please, can you tell me, if you used the same exact vitamin brand or just any kind of vitamin c?
You are 👼🏻 , thank u so much , it worked for me , so i colour my hairs jet black yesterday !! And i hated it , i tried what you did vitamin c and head and shoulder and my hairs were brown color 💞💞 i luv it , may do it again but i love this color tooooo 💞💞 thanks 🙏🏻
