    Have had FSD v12.3.3 for a few days. It's crazy good. It sometimes goes a little too close to curbs on right turns but other than that it's nearly perfect. Definitely drives better than most of the humans around here.

    You commented “relatively aggressive go.” That’s my biggest complaint for rural driving-a bit too aggressive especially when it’s in “chill” mode. Let the driver push the accelerator if it’s necessary to take off. Yes, I’m not a kid anymore.
    It is pretty amazing, however! Love it on the open road.

    Also on 12.3.3. It’s been great for me but I had a couple of issues today. It took a sharp curve waaay too fast and the right tires went off the road. It moved into the right lane which was a right turn only lane when it needed to go straight.

    Hi Jim, good video, I tried the FSD last night for the first time and it worked well. Just a reminder I met you and Brian at Bethany MO. super charger, I live in CR and have been renting from the Avis counter at CID. Friday March 29 I took delivery of a 2024 Stealth Gray Model Y Long range. The sale process did not go well, at the end they congratulated me on my purchase, at this point I told the salesperson that I had a code and he told me it was too late to add that in and could not change it. Not happy about this situation and everyone I have talked to at Tesla say there is nothing they can do to help me.

    I'm in Des Moines. The only issues I've seen are driving too fast on occasion, getting in/out/in on some turn lanes and nav related issues like getting into the far right turn lane when it needed to go straight. Other than that, it's been amazing!

    The only real problem with 12.3.3 imo, is when it does 45kmh in a 30kmh school zone lol.

    I've had FSD v12.3.3 for a few days while I happened to be taking this week off and it is horrible. No where near "full self driving". I frequently need intervention to prevent accident. It generally drives very dangerously.
    I wonder why people indicate such different experiences. Don't know if its expectations. You're happy it can do anything right. My expectation is not as a beta tester but assuming its actually supposed to drive somewhere. For me its an series of interventions. Works ok on highway if its "supervised", but in town doesn't last long before its lost and rather than do something safe, it launches headlong into possible or likely accident.
    Some issues:
    - In my neighborhood, narrow streets with cars parked on both sides, it accelerates much too fast from a stop to the speed limit. Does that on major roads as well, even if its confused about where to go. That is dangerous.
    - In rain, it launched from a stop light to full speed (40mph) even though it couldn't sort out what lane to be in and guessed wrong. It straddled two lanes and another car was encroaching. Too fast for road conditions.
    - Properly made a right at a major road with a nearby on ramp to expressway. Immediately accelerated too aggressively from 0-40mph only to realize it didn't know where the on ramp was. It was accelerating at break neck speed straight for a concrete lane divider only to swerve at the last second.
    - We have a tight S curve entrance to the neighborhood with multiple lanes. It runs into the curb or it randomly straddles lanes ends up in random spot at a traffic light.
    - Exit from expressway. Engaged it. Got to a light where navigation clearly showed it should go straight. However it decided it wanted to make a right turn from the center lane. I have no idea where it wanted to go. Its directions do not match those of navigation.
    - Had a light turn yellow soon enough it should have run it, but it slammed on brakes where would have caused an accident if someone was behind me.
    There are more but thats enough to get the gist.

    We just got v12. 3.3 and it has been just amazing compared to previous v12 versions, which were all heads above the v11. 4.9 we had for the longest time ... Virtually all of the problems we were having have just vaporized! The only item left for us is trying to get into our gated community ... It needs to learn the difference between the guest entrance and the resident entrance ... But I'm confident that relatively small edge case will be solved within the next year as FSD starts to approach robotaxi level of driving ... Should be there within the next 2 years, just as the new compact Tesla starts rolling out of Mexico! This will be a really fun period for Tesla as the world wakes up and realizes just how advanced FSD is compared to anything out there in the market ... A true "ChatGPT" moment is coming down the road for Tesla ... Maybe this year? We'll see ... Should be quite the ride, so to speak ... :)

    05:11 That BS - Colorado lost all of its Kum & Go's to Maverick. I'm already jealous! The downside to renting with Uber/Tesla all we get is autosteer (basic autopilot). I am going to do some digging to see if Hertz will push the update to these cars as well. Driving for Uber while letting the car drive is my unicorn! To your comment about the speed - Colorado Drivers are only happiest if you are going 20+ over the speed limit 🤣

    wow this version is crazy good. i went from thinking this thing is 10 years away to thinking this thing is now a Data + Compute issue, but I think Tesla has the Data and Compute and they can for sure do a "chatgpt4" for driving -- just need to gather all edge cases that may happen once every 100k miles and build up a fat model! This thing is level 5 autonomous within 2-3 years.

      Watch people on UA-cam testing the *very* *latest* FSD in busy big cities. There are still lots of human interventions and issues, and you don't have to wait 100k miles for them.

      When will it be good enough for you?

    • @DerekDavis213
      @DerekDavis213 3 місяці тому

      @@TCRS16 It will be good enough for me when it can drive like a human: A human can drive every day for 10 years without an accident. That is 99.995 percent success.
      Right now, the very latest FSD is maybe 97 percent capable. That is not good enough.
      FSD has been in beta for almost 4 years, and it still makes all kinds of rookie mistakes, and it totally lacks situational awareness in strange or unexpected conditions.

    • @lkrnpk
      @lkrnpk 3 місяці тому

      That’s the issue, it is really hard to get it work near 100%. As impressive as it is, it is a tall order anyway

    • @DerekDavis213
      @DerekDavis213 3 місяці тому

      @@lkrnpk Nobody expects 100 percent. Even humans make mistakes on *rare* occassions. But if FSD is 97 percent capable, that is nowhere near good enough.

      Not at all actually, in an emergency the car can go about 200 miles on 80% charge, and at a supercharger it takes about 35-45 minutes to charge back up fully.

    • @LordTimelord
      @LordTimelord 3 місяці тому

      I bought a Model Y Long Range in December 2023. My charging experience so far has been the following times.
      Level 1 120v Pigtail on the Tesla Mobile Connector Charger (1.4kW), roughly 70 hours from 5-100%. Roughly 1% of battery added per hour of charging.
      Level 2 Destination Charger (6-11kW Output), roughly 8-10 hours.
      Level 3 250kW Tesla Supercharger, 20-80% State of Charge in about 22 minutes.
      I've been averaging about 280 Miles of range with the AC and 600 Watt Stereo System both blasting. I also have a "Supervised" Lead Foot.
      Also I turned off Sentry mode and Data Sharing and left the vehicle parked in my garage for 6 weeks. It only lost 7% of the battery being parked all that time.
      It's perfectly fine once you make the mental adjustment to driving an EV. 😉
