Great video, as usual - we've also seen that FSD 12.3.6 is doing really great - we have just a couple of edge cases where we need to disengage, but overall this latest release is super-good! Looking forward to getting the new FSD 12.4 soon - I'm hoping to see some videos from the early testers to show up over this Memorial Day weekend - and assuming it looks good, to have the rest of us get it by the following weekend - keeping the fingers crossed! Thanks again for showing us the improvements in your local area!

If you love miles and miles of corn fields, Iowa is the place to be.
It didn't seem to register the lot ramp. I seem to recall it showed more awareness the first time you tried with 12 or as I misremembering?

For this video, yes. However, I keep it off mostly.
I have had 12.3.6 for around a month and have not disengaged once. So many people have different results, this is mine, maybe I am less risk averse.
It's absolute trash it can't figure out anything in Vegas it got totally confused just disengaged as soon as I tried to use it
For all the Elon nut huggers out there the things absolute trash on my 2021 it disengaged like two seconds after I tried it slammed on the brakes at a stoplight like I've never been break that hard in my life absolute total garbage

I had watched all the videos and couldn't wait to get the free trial
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement as a matter of fact if I was buying a used Tesla I would ask someone if they had and used FSD if they did I would not buy the car the car does excessive acceleration it drives too close to the center line
It does excessive breaking at night it drives inches away from my mailbox on the right hand side in a 25 mph speed zone it'll hit a speed bump at 35 mph without slowing down one time the call was going to turn into the woods in heavy traffic the car will start passing in the left-hand Lane when there's a long line of cars and you have to exit to the right
Driving with FSD is like letting a 7-year-old drive your car FSA reminds me when 3D came out if you were attacked you wanted 3D didn't matter how much it cost but after watching 3-day for a couple of days he didn't want it anymore
I have a Tesla and we'll keep it in case war breaks out in the Middle East and gas goes to 10 to $20 a gallon but there is one thing that should really tell you all you need to know about a Tesla is the insurance it's 80% higher than a regular car
I have a 2023 Tesla model Y long range. Unfortunately, I never got the invite for a free month of FSD so I subscribed for the service on May 1st. To date I am still on FSD 11.3 and have never received any updates. Here are some issues that I've run into and maybe they've been addressed in later versions:
Visited Yosemite valley in California last week and going around hairpin turns FSD would turn the turn signals on.
My version of FSD can't handle U turns.
I'm in a lane right next to a right turn only lane at a stop light. When the green arrow comes on for cars in the right lane to turn, FSD wants my car to go forward in the intersection. I still have a red light.
I have had a few incidents where the car would come to a complete stop right in the middle of an intersection where there are no stop signs or stop lights, or any cars or pedestrians.
Hopefully, these issues have been addressed in updated versions of FSD. I'm hoping to get the latest update soon?
FSD 12 still turns on signals on tight turns. The problem is that the navigation, which is controlled by Tesla, shows tight turns as 2 connecting lines at an angle instead of a single rounded line so FSD decides a turn signal is needed. I’ve figured this out because I have 2 such curves on my work commute.
FSD does well on a very easy small town route, in broad daylight. Not many other cars around.
Maybe test FSD in a busy big city, during morning or afternoon rush hour ?
Great to see how it’s improved on roundabouts! I’m having lots of zero disengagement drives up here. Still not perfect but this is the progress we’ve been waiting to see.
Thanks Brian. If 12.4 is as good as Elon says it will be, it's hard to see where it can improve much. There are a few rough (but minor) spots I hope it can fix.
@@iowatesla Remember, Elon has said many things in the past that turned out NOT to be true. A healthy dose of skepticism would be prudent.
I do not like the acceleration...I am in chill for a reason.
The problem is traffic. Human drivers are unpredictable and in cities like LA and Boston, even FSD 12.3.6 struggles at times. Cedar Rapids is not known for traffic jam. You hardly have any cars on the road at all in this test.
Well on that one roundabout, The Tesla hesitated too long and the other human driver is going to make his move and take off, I didn't see anything wrong with what happened. The other driver assumed you wanted him to go first.
Are you driving with FSD in the Assertive mode??
i am doing my FSD 30 day trial in "Average" mode and it does allot of hesitations. Also when I drive through my neighborhood streets, I don' trust FSD when there are cars parked on both sides of the road making a narrow passage for 2 cars should they meet at the same time. I always disable FSD should I run into this situation.
I would like to see you do a test of this kind of condition when you in the Tesla and another driver coming at you meet at the same time and looks like not enough room to pass with cars parked on both sides of the neighborhood roads.
I just don't trust the Tesla in this situation.

1 test of each scenario? could be chance, luck, lack of challenge, ect. Anyone remotely serious about testing would take almost nothing from 1 test
Well, I don’t think this is his day job. And this isn’t the first time he’s tested FSD on these routes. I think ITG would know if FSD is getting better or not.
In my area, I tried to break it with construction where in version 11 it tried to kill me. Version 12 is nearly perfect in my area. Any construction you can try where you are?
It's complete utter trash disengaged as soon as I tried to use it again I have a model three 2021 probably doesn't work on those
'nearly perfect' means FSD still cannot drive *alone* . Human intervention is necessary.

FSD is a complete joke I used it last night I had disengagement immediately it kept over breaking he kept getting confused failed self driving
