How often does mom need a break from her pups? My mom dog had a C Section yesterday and she won't even go out to the bathroom or really eat and im worried about her. She's taking such good care of her pups though
Why are you not suggesting THERMOCHIPS to eliminate the using of rectal thermometers?
I'm guessing alot of the things you mentioned pertain more to pure bred dogs. My dog is a pure bred german shepard but I'm pretty she was knocked up by a pit bull/golden retriever mix therefore the pups should have a fairly healthy and diverse gene pool. From what people have told me the dog really does all the work I just need to make sure she is eating puppy food for the last week or so and that she has a comfortable place to have her puppies both of which are taken care of.

@lovemypups. My frenchie had 2 pups last time thou c/s as she went into labour not for any other reason other that we were not brave enough to let her go her self. So that all went brilliant and vet said there were big pups as only 2 of them but she things she could of coped . So my Question Is shes due again in the next 10 days and again only pregnant with 2 pups with already having a c/s do you think we should let her try herself ? Feeling braver but with only 2 pups I'm afraid they could be to big ?

I gave my bitch Herpes Vaccine during pregnancy because her sire had recently impregnanted a few bitch's and was advised to protect mum and pups.

this is a lot man. my friend had puppies and i do not think she had any of this stuff and only lost 1 because the mother smothered the baby intentionally. do we really need all of this stuff or can we just take the puppies to the vet? and how long after birth until the first vet visit?

I have another question... Sorry... I am trying to figure out how to keep my room during these hot summer months with puppies ( frenchies) on the way. A/c ok to use along with a heat pad? I have been trying to Google the answer but I get human babies or non specific to the frenchie breed. I was thinking of just putting a large blanket over the top of the kennel. It's really just a big play pen for dogs, I put her whelping box in, I have been feeding her in it. I just know that she's going to be so hot and I want to make her comfortable especially after waking up to babies and a big incesion. Ty again both of you, glad I found you both when I was getting my boy and I was learning other methods. So again ty for doing this and making sure that you tell people to see a vet. I am so shocked how many people follow this woman who whelped her frenchies at home 12 babies at that!!! It was so scary and sad and then people asking her advice if they can free whelp from home!!! Ahhh😳🤦♀️

You are forgetting health testing. You should health test, for the recommended breed testing to make sure the parents wont pass anything genetic to their puppies.
