John Denver's "Some Days Are Diamonds"song has always been very special, so meaningful to me since he recorded it….. This beautiful song touches me deeply and tears always fall freely…… John had this strong spiritual presence that just touches your heart and soul…… He spoke with ease, and this beautiful planet of ours was so precious to him as it is to me….. I am grateful that John Denver graced our planet and used his music to lead the charge for this precious world of ours and help us to start cleaning up our act….. In John's own words, "The earth is our mother "….. Just like you look after your mother we need to look after our planet…… There are so many wonderful songs by John, they are all great, just like him….. The day John passed we lost a gentle giant of a man…. How I miss him so….. RIP JOHN DENVER !!
So true Some Days Are Dimonds Some Days Are Stones. One of those days that's a stone was yesterday August 1st. That's my friend Jennas Birthday. She went home to Jesus May 1st 2008. Yesterday she would of turned 36 1 year older than me. I miss her very much she's my BFF she was also like a sister to me. I love you Jenna and miss you so much.:(
I think it is easier for these new (So Called) artists to throw some crappy beats together and call it a song ! John Denver wrote beautiful poetry set to music !
72 years old and a compulsive gambler for 3 quarters of my years. This song sums up my life to a tee. Sadly there were far more stone days. John, I miss your smile so much and your songs will stay with me forever. Many many thanks
This song means so much to me. 22 years ago I was in the depths of despair and active alcoholism. I was looking in the bathroom mirror and saw my face, this song started to play on the radio. The words 'now the face that i see in my mirror, more and more are a stranger to me' hit me like a sledgehammer. I booked myself into a rehab that day and heve been free of the demons since.
You just need to learn how to drink in moderation - i.e. 1 glass of wine in the evening or 2 beers throughout the day. This is beneficial for stress relief.
Funny, I listened a lot to JD as a teen. All the big hits. Then lost track of him ,for years. Now at 58, I find ALL his songs so meaningful, so easy to relate to.
I am 61 and I exactly feel the same, J D was ahead of his time. Listen to the song he sang with the Russian tenor Alexander Gradsky in Tokyo 1990. greetings from Germany and peace on earth.
I’m on month 5 of a 1 year tour in the Middle East, since I’ve been gone I’ve lost 3 grandparents and watched my dad struggle to cope with retirement, I rediscovered this song over here and it’s taken on a new meaning, there’s a hope behind the idea that we get through the hard times and savor those diamonds even more when we have them.
Have always enjoyed John Denver's music. Been married to a man for 29 years and found out today 5/15/2013 he had never heard "Grama's Feather Bed"!!! Had to let him listen and he's a fan now too. We did lose a great one with John Denver.
Nobody like John Denver. Never will be. Miss him a lot. His voice is like a clear bell. So beautiful. Love this song. We have all been there. RIP, John.
I love almost anything JD.Did he is so MISSED! His and Gospel are just about all I listen to!God bless his fans, and Lets keep his MUSIC alive!R.I.P.we will see you Lord willing bye and bye Amen!
When my grandchildren take a knock of sorts I always say to them - some days are diamonds some days are stones - and it always seems to put things into perspective for them. No doubt John Denver was very special and his music will live on forever. Peace.

I'm 57 years old and have been listening to John's songs since I was introduced to it by my brother in 1982. John's music calms me and mentally takes me to places I've never been to. It makes me say "Thanks God I'm able to hear the sounds". The two words that come to me when listening to his music are"Peace and Harmony".
one of my favorite songs by J.D. Thank you so much for sharing this. Oct 12 will be the anniversary of his passing away. I live in the Monterey bay area where his plane crash and I will be at his memorial site with my guitar playing his songs. This will be one of them.

It can be funny who likes this song. I was driving with a girl I was keen on when in my 20's back in the 90's and I had this on tape. I went to fast forward it when it played thinking she wouldn't like it but it was one of her faves. We never got together but was fun singing along with her having a laugh. Okay enough nostalgia. Back to reality and opening my latest utilities bill. Good God that's outrageous!!
This song has gotten me through my chemo - some days go fine, others have me totally wiped out, but I've learned that I can survive it!
I lost my husband in Nov 2011 and this song fits. Thanks. Miss you Ron.
