For anyone curious, the belt clips in the prequel movies were covertec wheels used for camera equipment originally I believe. You can get one with a screen accurate belt hanger for between $15-20. Also most saber part stores carry a WIDE variety of wheels that work with the belt hanger.
Makes sense that it's a blue saber since it's linked to the Obi Wan show, but man that green section really makes me wish it was green. Either way great build, you make it look so easy.
This is pretty much what they did in the 70's when creating props for star wars, not just the lightsabers but they are the best example of the team just finding parts that fit together and making it work

I have only been working with metal lathes, mills, and other fab equipment for a short while, and so naturally I watch a ton of machining vids. Yet nothing, and I mean nothing, is more magical than watching Odin piece together such great works with spare parts. 10/10, best content on youtube.

A good term for "small bits and pieces" are greeblies. On top of that if you look into the current custom lightsaber community people currently love building a full internal chassis for their electronics I've seen people put together so much detail it's insane and I've used a chassis building my own father an accurate ANH Obi-Wan hilt. Even having a crystal built into the chassis with an LED lighting up that crystal. This combined with a custom blade plug is what I used to make sure it could be completely accurate no matter how it was displayed. The price I spent for those supplies was about $500. Now for the blade. Yeah you want to a mirror on your trip BUT you need to make sure you use the right amount and type of diffusion film. I prefer using frosted cellophane because you can get more out of it with less. Another trick I do is I sand the entire blade to help further blend the light that goes through it and makes the tip not stand out so much. Oden, the yellow glasses things were sweet. Could we get another lightsaber made of PVC and PEX? The hilt of pvc fittings. Something the kids can bang against a pole and not break? Ive seen a few hacks about but was looking for an everyday mom and pop build. Drill, hacksaw, maybe a frying pan or toaster, common everyday tools.
Top tip if anyone wants to make their own lightsaber, and like Odin don't have a metal lathe handy. You can use a pipe cuter on the metal tube, and just not cut the whole way through. This gives you nice groves that adds to the look.
Tis a fine sabre you have made. Greeblies and Nurnies are a vital part of the look and feel of a sabre, and yours has some great ones. Nice junk drawer sabre build. The only change I would make would be to use "fun foam" foam sheet to make a non-metallic grip. I have a pair of Chinese sabres headed for the Geeklair, and hopefully greebling it up will be uneventful. I would add a belt connector wheel, but unfortunately I have no idea where there would be a safe spot on the hilt to put it. So my non-working hilts will remain on my belt.

Great build but for comfort I'd put a leather wrap over the open green pipe but still leave a couple gaps so that the green can show thru for a but of detail

For the blade on the other hand, you can buy them at a hardware store to, but it'll be expensive. But I found some cheap blades/clear pipes that you can buy. And for the light that comes out of the blade, just buy some LEDs.
That's what I did for my first Lightsaber, built it from a sink tube that I got from a Home Depot or Lowes and got the LED and Blade from the CustomSaberShop and the battery holder, resistors, and switches from Radio Shack before they closed up shop and for a time I figured how put in the toy saber soundboard into it, but now my newest sink tube saber is using a MUCH better soundboard that I got off of ebay, I think its the same soundboard that Saberforge uses the Sabercore soundboard.

An idea (or more an out-there thought); what would happen if, on the acrylic end cap, you perhaps used a small disc of 3M hi-vis material? In theory, wouldn't that kick a lot more light back to the LED source (after all, it is just cinema screen/PPE fabric, no?)? Something to ponder, I think ...
