    80D Review: • Is the Canon 80D WORTH...
    R6ii Review: • Canon R6 Mark ii Revie...
    This is a Canon EOS 6Dii Review and here you can read the video script if you wanna treat it as an article:
    The 6D mark ii packs a 26 megapixel sensor capable of bursting 6.5 photos a second, for a consecutive number of 20 photos or so till the buffer fills. but here we get to the first thing you should watch out for, when shooting in live view, with servo AF on, the burst rate falls to a whopping 4 frames a second! So either don't use servo, use the viewfinder, or get another camera. But more about that later
    It's shutter speed goes from 30 seconds to 1/4000th of a second, so you can't always use this camera at f1.8 or lower in daylight due to it not being dark enough. What you can do though is shoot at ISO50, which i never in my life have because it lowers your dynamic range by a stop. With that aside your ISO would also be able to go up to 102400,
    Which hints that the low light performance of the 6D mark 2 is truly it's main selling point and it beats many other cameras, i'd say when you go around ISO6400 or higher it can produce higher perceived resolution than the 5DIV, and a camera i got to compare it to, the sony a7r3 did WAAY worse due to the high megapixel sensor it has
    At lower ISO levels people say it has less dynamic range, and i can agree it's noticeable if you REALLY push it, but noticeable doesn't mean mandatory, 1 stop of dynamic range really isn't something to worry about, but knowing that i never shot at ISO50 with this camera. With that said i've shot anything from contrasty night time concerts to architecture and products and never complained about it, especially knowing you'll be shooting at higher ISO's most of the time, and you can always bracket when doing static shots
    The AF performance in this camera is pretty nice, it doesn't have eye AF but the face tracking is good and the viewfinder AF tends to chase eyes and faces the most when shooting portraits.
    Now we have another con that shows up, which is, the autofocus points in this camera were originally made for the crop sensor 80D or smth, and now you can't focus all the way up in the frame because they're all crammed in the middle. So you'll just have to do this, or crop later. Luckily even though there's 4 frames a second with servo through the LCD, the focus point coverage is better with live view (also don't worry much about that 4fps thing unless you REALLY REALLY need it) so in video you won't be having that problem if that's your thing. But here you can only shoot up to 1080p at 60 frames a second, which is just about enough for most people. Oh also when you shoot video in anything but manual or custom modes, like aperture priority, the camera just switches to auto. Though you can do manual exposure with auto ISO.
    Back to the 1080p thing, if you need to zoom in or stabilize your video afterwards, it will begin to suffer. But it does shoot 4K in timelapse mode at least
    This video you're watching was shot in 4K and exported in 1080, and because of that it looks better than the native FHD off the 6D, and i feel the canon 80D had sharper video than this camera, i don't know why it has this thing, but if you add around 40% sharpness afterwards, it'll make it way better. Just donkt overdo it
    Other than that i also wouldn't push video in low light as much as you would with photos because it tends to be noisier.
    Even though i focused on the cons of video don't be too discouraged by it, as no one i worked with really complained about it but me, same story about the headphone jack which it doesn't have, with this camera you'll have to know how to read the audio levels to properly adjust the microphone, but i found that just leaving it on auto produces very reliable results, and i often use that myself as well.
    Last but not least we have build quality and this is really something i have no complains about, the button layout is very well thought out and easy to get used to and work with. I wouldn't say it's a HEAVY camera but i like that you can feel it's weight
    The main screen is clear and responsive.
    Meanwhile the top LCD is nice but the buttons over it are even nicer, even tho i only really use 2. I also like the mode dial a lot because it can't be rotated without pressing the button in the middle, it has 2 fully programmable custom modes which are sweet. meanwhile the on and off switch is a bit weird but i'm okay with it. The weather sealing never failed me, but don't abuse it.
    Over all the 6Dii might be the best everyday camera for the price, be it for fun or pro work

      Finally got my Mk II about a month ago. Couldn't be happier with it; I'm nowhere near a pro but an avid hobbyist. One interesting though, is that I have found I still need to get a better handle on the AF. It's quite a bit more demanding than I've found to be the case on my 7D Mk II and my 1DX Mk III. For the record, I don't shoot video at all, only stills.

      That's great, and feels nice to see a good follow up story on a comment from a while back. It'll definitely help you grow as a photographer.

      @@PhotoDardha I did pick mine up a couple of months ago, and boy, do I love it! TBH, I still need to get a better handle on the AF in this body; seems like it's a bit more exacting (finicky?) than what I find using my 7D Mk II and 1DX Mk III. But it's been a heck of a lot of fun to learn!

      @adude394 i feel you, it doesn't feel as "dumb" or manual as it did in DSLRS, which was good cuz now it feels like it has more of it's own mind

    Really enjoyed the video,great pacing! I own the 6D mark ii and it’s been great to shoot with, although i think thw video capabilities are subpar even for its age. Been looking for a upgrade, thinking of going with the R8😁

      The R8 is pretty nice to be honest, myself i didn't get it because i wanted a more pro body and professional features that i'll hold onto for longer, so i waited and got the R6ii, i think it's worth it

    I was in the position of getting a 6DII, RP or R moving from an 80D a couple of months ago. My gf and I work together and she owns a 5DIV so the dynamic range of the 80D was very noticeable. I ended up going with the R and I got 0 complains of that camera. In the case you are in this position as well go for the R (same as a 5DIV) and it isn't that much more expensive than the 6DII on sales. Mind you I did had to get an EF-RF mount adapter but overall very satisfied with the camera.

    • @PhotoDardha
      @PhotoDardha  5 місяців тому +1

      Actually you have a great point, i don't know how i forgot about the R
      It literally has a 5DIV sensor in a smaller body, though myself i'd maaaybe get the 5D instead anyway, it feels snappier

    • @mrsuperselenio5694
      @mrsuperselenio5694 5 місяців тому +1

      @@PhotoDardha That was one of the reasons why I went with the R and not the 6DII, the other one being the AF points which are 5655 (I can press anywhere on the screen and it effing focus!!!) I hated the 45 AF points all in the center, not to mention the AF and eye tracking upgrade is slightly faster.
      I got one on sale for a little over 1k euros on black Friday + 120€ for the EF-RF lens adapter. A Full Battery so far gets me about 1.2-1.5k pictures outside and about 2k-2.3k at the studio, I was concern about those 370 shots from CIPA test. Also awesome improvement from your 80D video editing to this one, Keep it up!

    • @PhotoDardha

      Interesting opinion, i always thought about how the original 6D was and if the ii was enough of an improvement
      Why exactly do you see it as a disappointment, it didn't live up to expectations?
      Also honestly this camera is perfectly capable of 4K but it doesn't have it so i understand but i wanna hear your point as well

      I have a Canon 6D with only 230 shots ! Since the fall of 2017 it has been in a box in the closet because I don’t use it. Like new. I will sell on eBay. I also have a Canon 6D mark 2 , Canon 7D (38000 shots) and a Sony a6000, I used it very rarely, and since 2019 I haven’t used cameras, so I lost interest... I will put all the cameras and lenses up for sale on eBay....

    It is a "good" camera, but in 2024 it is honestly not worth the ridiculously high price that Canon intends to charge for it, there are many options on the market that are a perfect balance between quality and price, in my opinion, the body should not exceed 700usd... It is a product that is already on its way to becoming obsolete.

    It’s not a good camera, i shot with it for 3 years, the auto focusing system of the camera is ultra slow, your better off using one shot. The low light at high iso is super ultra noisy. Save your money and go mirrorless. I switched from a 6dmkii to a r6 mkii and it’s a world of a difference, DSLR is old n outdated.

    • @PhotoDardha
      @PhotoDardha  5 місяців тому +3

      You must have had a faulty version or something, i provided actual examples here where you can see it's not noisy

      There’s a huge price difference between the two models. The R6mkii is a professional camera with the latest tech. The 6Dmkii is a semi enthusiast camera made to a budget. I use a 6D original and still find it very good even after ten years. It just depends on what you want to photograph.

    • @PhotoDardha
      @PhotoDardha  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes true there is a big difference but the 6D isn't as this comment says, ofc the R6ii will blow it out of the water but i'd say for most people and even certain professionals who don't need the fast AF/burst/4K would be fine with it
      And yes just as you said, it all depends why you need the camera
