@@serithin4703 In his case, since a card never failed him, it's 100%. I've assisted with Nikon pros who also never had a card fail. One-card cameras aren't inherently risky scenarios.
@@serithin4703 A lot, if you look after it. If use the same card for years with hundreds and thousands of shots, then sure. The chances of corruption occurring randomly increases. But making sure you turn the camera off safely (when the camera isn't writing to the card), changing the SD/CF card and looking after your gear (in general) ensures that it'll last a very long time. I'll just say in general (not targeted towards you) pros do not need to take advice or criticisms from spec junkies and/or arm chair experts that think they know more than someone who does this as their JOB.
To me, the old 6D is the best camera for the money Canon ever made. The files are so nice, the handling very simplistic and the AF on the center point very precise. Not the fastest camera of course. AF in low light could be better. But still now after 7 years, you can't go wrong with this model. (unless you do action and sport photography only)
Agreed. I bought 6D when it first came out. Upgraded to 5D4 only for the reason that I shoot a lot of sports in ice rink (hockey and skating). The interesting thing is that my keeper rate was pretty much the same in those conditions with my 6D and the same lenses using only the center point. I kind of miss the 6D - might buy one newly as a second body :-). The more simple the camera, the more it frees you to focus on shooting. Not at all interested in RF-lineup, at least yet.
I'm sorry what are you talkin about. some of the greatest sports pictures were taken on film learn how to compose and anticipate... fast autofocus never needs to be a priority if you actually know how to Zone Focus
@@jukkasundbergJust curious. Have you still stayed away from the RF line? I have, and don't have much interest in it still. They seem like they're just turning on easy mode.
Amazing, that’s why people like me loves Canon. I own a 6d mark ii and I love it, despite the hate of the UA-cam “reviewers”. This is real world, the camera is just a tool, and in the right hands you can do whatever you want.... Love your videos... thanks
Yea, but if you can buy a better tool for the money. Isn't that valid critism? Of course it is. Hence Reviewers, who's job it is too look at the tool and compare it to the other tools, critisze it. Canon simply is falling behind the competition. That doesnt mean their tools are bad, it just means they are bad value relative to the competition, that they are technologically worse. Camera companies have you tied in with their lenses and eco-system, but if they werent Canon would have a lot more trouble. The point is never that the Canon system is uncapable because of it's aged technical performance, but more so that if you are coming into DSLR's there is little to no reason to buy the Canon over the competition, given you just compare cameras, dont have any lenses etc. Sure Canon has it's strengths (Tilt shift lenses :O ) but they are severelly hampered by their aging systems. It's time for Canon to start producing some top tier cameras again. The days of the 5D Mark 2 which revolutionaized the market. I personally own both Canon and Nikon. Although more Nikon gear. I enjoy both. Just some food for thought.
I have a 6Dii and classic and the classic's files are much more useable, the camera is compatible with all 3rd party lenses and flashes as well with no issue. I shoot 600 photos per week for my job and I still reach for the 6D1 everytime. No hate, but the 6D classic is a better camera.
I was considering the Canon 6D ll. Specs and handling seem good but I heard many bad reviews about the dynamic range. I may go with the Sony A7 lll or the Nikon Z6
@@MrNYCman530 in my case I bought it new for 1299 . The Sony a7iii is better but it costs 2000. If you need that dynamic range of 14 stops and you can pay for it is not a bad choice. In the real world I never push more than two stops and is very rare... Watch Jared Polin review of the 6DMii and other videos he have about this camera, and real photographers reviews, not only tech reviewers..People is obsessed with DR, and is good to have it. But people give too much importance. I'm not saying is the best camera, it does the job and this channel is a good prove of it.....IMO 😊
I have three 6ds as my primary workhorse but I have replaced them to keep them fresh: the shutter assembly has gone on a few of them and as the price dropped it made sense to pick up "refurbished" 6D bodies to keep fresh. The main benefit over the other big canon bodies: lightweight.
Excellent review! Too many youtubers only talk about what you miss out if you don't get the lastest models but to have an experienced professional talk about workflow and durability of the gear I find unique. Vielen Dank!
Oh my God!! Beyond excellent 👍 This is among the finest real-world reviews of any camera on the internet! The stats, the sample images, the presentation, it has all come together so well in this!

Hi Siddharta, thank you very much! You will find many Reviews like this, also about the R5, R6, 6DII and many other cameras and lenses :) With the 6D II I am now at 700.000 shots, a great camera with phenomenal face detection capabilities.
Just as I was watching review videos of other cameras I could possibly upgrade from my 6D to, I run into this one. It's not the first nor the last time I'd want to switch, but in the end I always end up staying. Thanks for reminding me what the most important thing in photography is, the person 3 inches behind the camera taking amazing photos.
I just bought a used 6D (27k shutter count). I’m really excited to use it! For context, I am a professional photographer, and have been for the last 7 years. I use an R6 Mark II as my main camera currently, but I want to use it as a dedicated video camera, so I bought a 6D Mk 1 as my main stills camera.
Great video. Canon rarely have class-leading specifications, but what they do have is robust and usable specifications for the real World. I have the 6D and an M50. I love that combination as it covers me for still images and HD video.
It quite surprised me as well ...I bought it a few years back knowing that it wasn’t the best spec wise ...but using it over the years I have grown to appreciate the practicality that Canon has built into 6D. The camera is definitely way better in use than what the spec sheet suggests.
Just got a Canon 6D as my first full frame a couple months ago for 600 USD with less than 2k shutter clicks. Absolute love the camera, makes my old crop sensor feel like a toy
It actually should not make a difference if you're using decent primes and know how to use your apertures but glad to see you like it and that was a great score with only two thousand clicks the one I'm looking at as I think about 400 and probably has about 50,000
@@DeathDasein here's the thing if you're creating good photographs it should never be a question what camera are you using? This review gave me so much joy. Not the least because I own this camera since 2014 and carry the same feelings about it. But there was something special about Dirkson's affection for his instruments that serve his craft well - and that made me endearlingly stay glued to this presentation. And of course, his photography is top notch and I particularly found the rainly shooting sequence with strangers fascinating.
Inspired by your 6D review! A lot of canon photographers I’ve seen here in youtube uses 5D mk iii or iv or 6D mk ii. You’re one of the few who appreciates 6D so much even though it’s cheap and old. 😄👍

I also have the 6DII and have taken 200.000 images with it since February 2018 - but my main working camera is the 6D to this day.
Very informative and entertaining video, reinforces why I bought the camera. I've watched it twice now, once before I bought the 6D and a revisit just now. I use an R6 for anything moving quickly, everything else the 6D. Really enjoy the ease of use and am always very happy with the results great camera, I would also recommend it.
Nice video. The 6D is amazing. I also had two... but I recently sold one. Now using 5D4 and EOS R, but my 6D shows very well even compared to those cameras. When I got the 6D, it was about the best you could get for low light! Your images look great! Good work!

I've owned the 6D Mark 1 since 2014... (long story but after a surviving a medical crisis, I moved from a Nikon D5000 to Canon and L-glass, never looked back). The solid build, durability, and low light performance, and of course full frame IQ (it was my 1st) blew me away compared to what I had. I do ZERO people photography and primarily landscape, astrophotography, and something the 6D wasn't intended for ... fast moving aircraft at airshows. Yes, the AF system on the original is "basic" 11pt AF and one cross-type point by today's standards seems like old tech. Yet, the results I've achieved with this camera have far exceeded what I ever imagined. The clean images w/ great color (I shoot only RAW) never disappoint. I've locked on in AI Servo on the center point and "stopped" a 500mph fighter jet w/ all manner of details. When the 6D2 came out... I rented for a weekend and shot at low ISO in daylight (ISO100) and shadow recovery couldn't match the original 6D. At higher ISO especially if you're someone who shoots indoors in low light, I hear the 6D2 is quite good but that's not my space. I'm outdoors in bright light shooting planes or under stars (doing star trail imaging). I had hoped for more but waited until Black Friday and got an insane deal on the faster higher MP 5D Mark 4. Love the 5DM4, 7FPS is great, touch screen and IQ is great as well... but the 6D still goes with me every show I attend and BOTH deliver. That you can still get a NEW 6D for 999 USD online in the US, IMO, makes it the best FF for the money that can be found. The original 6D will be a Canon legend one day. Great video. (an example of what the 6D does in my subject space 500px.com/photo/244876829/us-navy-blue-angels-boeing-f-a-18-hornets-solo-pair-takeoff-by-mark-streit )
I'm owning a canon 6D since 2 years now and I use it mainly for landscape and astro, it's a great camera for astrophotography. It's dynamic range is said to outperform the 6d mark ii. I'm happy to hear your successful story with the 6D. You have some really good images! Nice work. And I wonder what is the font used in your signature? I really like the style

@@seanperry1348 I don't see any APSC camera that matches a 5D II or 6D I or 6D II quality wise. I would always go to a 6D with a 50mm f1.8 over any APSC combination. Thanks a lot! I'm not using the 6D so much like you but have some dust on the sensor. I'm wondering. I bought my 6D 3 years ago as a used camera for about 800€. Now I shoot about 300.000 images and it's very durable. Everything is working fine and AF also working in very dark conditions, when you have some lines to focus on. Only faces, without glasses, have some problems in dark conditions. Also the camera is working very well with 3rd party lenses. Like you I'm using often used gear. The community and marketplaces are full of good and cheap stuff. Also renting is fun for playing around. Now you can buy this camera cheap, amazing.

The 6D II has much better AF when using the flip out screen, its on par with all new cameras like the R6 II (I have that one also). The images look great from the 6D I and II. Look at any of my 1400 videos, nearly all are done with the 6D or 6D II so both are phenomenal. Adda 50mm f1.8 and you're ready to go!
what lens do i need with it for wedding? i have 50 mm 1.8, but please select non expensive ones?
5 років тому
The 50mm f1.8 is great, you could nearly photograph a whole wedding with just this one. I suggest having three focal lengths, one wide angle, one normal and one tele. You already have the normal (50mm). For wide angle you could go with a 20mm f2.8, the 24mm f2.8 or the 28mm f1.8. The 20mm might be a great choice and is very. cheap also (200$ used). For tele I would go for a 100mm f2.0 also used relatively cheap. With these three lenses you can photograph weddings easily. I suggest using full frame cameras, the 6D I being a very cheap entry and it is still what I use for weddings today, although I have an Eos RP and a 6D II. Get 2x Bodies of the same camera, then you don't need to change lenses often. And you're ready to go :)
I have 5 Camera bodies at the moment, 3 Canons and 2 Sony. On the sony side, I currently have my workhorse Sony a6500 and Sony a7iii, specifically for video. On the Canon side, I got the Canon EOS R, my lovely Canon 6D and my old man 550D (which my dad bought for my college project), I've always thought of selling all my canons especially my 550d and 6D, but will always end up hesitating and hugging it at the night, as I have been using the 6D since I started wedding photography in 2015. This camera taught me so many things and survived so many events. It's such a robust camera, and a best friend.
I have a Canon 600D (which I don’t use anymore), a 6D, and a Sony 6300 for videos. I was thinking of buying the EOS R now, but I’ll keep the 6D with me for sure. Such a beast of a camera. Anyway, was the upgrade to the R worth it?
@@LouisLuzuka I can't say much which one's my favourite, surely they have pros and cons. I have more experience using Canon 6d for weddings, but since I made a move to sony, I havn't been using my 6d and 550d for a long time now, and the sony a7iii is the reason. I think it depends on what's the purpose of your photography, or where do you want to use it. Wedding? Sports? Travel? Photo? Video?
@@grababi I just recently bought and extensively used my Canon EOS R this weekend in a real wedding, I am in awe on how the image quality is so good in all situations, but some features like the AF (which some times are missed, which is a bummer). I think the continuous shooting should be improved, it feels so slow, and using the video mode, has some inconvenience, like the huge cropping (I can't seem to know the logic behind it when you actually use a L series and probs defeat the purpose of the original focal length), and the digital IS feels like an in-body Premiere PRO warp stabilizer, it's not bad though but it can improve. And I know most Canon EOS R users would agree who used a sony system. But then again, I'm not a pro. I would need to used it again on an wedding event this coming weekend to learn more. It's still good, I think it's worth it, coming from a 6D user, who enjoys a flippy screen, dual pixel AF, and I think one of the best feature that every company should do, that when you take out the lens, there's a blocking mechanism to protect the sensor from dust or anything that can harm it while switching to a different lens.
I love that 135 f2 as well. Wonderful images. The 6D is a good camera, but you would've been successful with any brand because you have an eye for composition. Bravo.
Thank you, this has helped me with my decision. I'm going to my local camera store this morning, to buy a used 6d. I've had my eye on it for a few days now. It'll be my first full frame camera, can't wait 👍🙂

I owned the 6d for about 3 years now but almost forgot them if not for the Rome trip this summer, then I took it out from storage and started to learn to shoot again by watching tutorial on UA-cam and run across your review. The 85mm at f1.2 is a diva that is very difficult to focus. The new cameras like the 6d ii and eos r and rp have face recognition and there is now a huge difference in practicality- on the 6d ii the 85mm f1.2 at f1.2 works great with eye af, without you may lose focus often with any camera body, as the depth of field is so thin

3 Primes is a great all-round solution - a wide angle (20mm 24mm or 28mm), a standard (50mm), and a tele (100mm Macro, 85mm or 135mm). I can also recommend the 6D II, with the Face AF it works amazing!
Thanks for the kind reply. Looks like I'll be able to buy an EOS R body - I'll miss the 6D's wonderful sensor, but a camera with silent electronic shutter is very desirable in my work - school plays, classroom photography as book illustrations, public talks, etc. I'm tempted to keep the 6D as a second body! I am also tempted by the 135 - I've had several and they are over the moon wonderful. I would have to use it as a standard - highly croppable - tele to justify the cost (used).
Thanks for making this video, now I know how still powerful the 6D is. Planning to buy one soon as my first full frame camera! Great work and subscribed to your channel!

So inspiring sir to have you here in UA-cam, you inspire me as a new user of canon 6d.. i bought it 3 months ago, second hand camera.. and I felt so bad because I can't capture moving subjects like in wedding day.. would you mind if what settings did you used during processionals and it's hard to get focused the subject.. hihi after the shoot, when i got home, and preview it,, some of photos are not in focused.. hihi.. I'm a new subscriber here .. Thank you
Hi Jannis, I'd be grateful for your expert opinion on the 6D vs the 6D Mk 2. The reason I ask is that I currently have a 6D, and am thinking of switching to the Mk 2 because it has new and useful features. The original 6D has a fantastic sensor for landscape photography, which is my main genre. How does the Mk 2 sensor compare to the original 6D sensor please? I'm particularly interested in the "colour science" and dynamic range aspects. Thank you.

color is similar, I find the flip out screen to be of excellent value and you can touch to focus which also works great. It also got super cheap, I bought my 3rd one for 600 Euros/Dollars.
Thanks, I really value your opinion. The flip screen would be really useful for landscape photography. I think I will buy one when I see a good used example. As you say it represents fantastic value for money!
Had my 6D since 2015 and take approx 10.000 pix pr year. Fantastic camera. I do Streets, every Day life, my kids sports (field hockey) and Stock Photo for an agency
I’m new here, but just subscribed. Love your presentation. I use Canon lenses on my Sony a7rii. Just now bought a used Canon 6d with 13,000 shutter count. looking forward to using it,

@ wow that means that 6d can be bought with a bigger shutter count as well with no significant risk (I don't take too much pictures, so that means plenty of remaining shots for me until it breaks)
Excellent review! It is great to see a camera reviewed by a photographer that values reliability and predictable results more than spec sheets.
Thank you!
Reliability with the 6D? How much reliability can you get with a 1 card camera?
No offense but a photographer that cares about photography would not need to shoot a million exposures
@@unbroken1010 Your TV is warmed up now.
@@townhall05446 I don't have one

Whoa thank you very much! You made my day :)
I have a feeling you would take great photos no matter what you use.
Thank you very much! I feel the same :)
I have so much admiration for your charisma and your ability to connect with strangers. It's a delight watching your videos.
Thank you very much Eddy!
@@MikeJovani what do you mean by the files being more usable?
Very very impressive. Love the street images, and your style. I have the 6D2, and love it. Makes me want to maybe try out the 6D1. LOL
LOVE this video!! You truly shows an amazing journey with Canon Camera! To me, 5D3 and 6D is really reliable camera body even in 2022.
Oh my God!! Beyond excellent 👍

Hi Siddharta, thank you very much! You will find many Reviews like this, also about the R5, R6, 6DII and many other cameras and lenses :) With the 6D II I am now at 700.000 shots, a great camera with phenomenal face detection capabilities.
It's very different a review from a UA-camr than a review from a working pro photographer I think
Marvelous. How wonderful to see masterful work with basic tools.
Thank You very much!
I just bought a used 6D (27k shutter count). I’m really excited to use it!
For context, I am a professional photographer, and have been for the last 7 years. I use an R6 Mark II as my main camera currently, but I want to use it as a dedicated video camera, so I bought a 6D Mk 1 as my main stills camera.
great choice :)
I am planning to buy 6D and when I see this video, I am super excited to get one! Thanks!

Same with me except 100,000 shutter counts💀
It actually should not make a difference if you're using decent primes and know how to use your apertures but glad to see you like it and that was a great score with only two thousand clicks the one I'm looking at as I think about 400 and probably has about 50,000
@@unbroken1010 it totally does a difference, between APSC and Full Frame.
@@DeathDasein here's the thing if you're creating good photographs it should never be a question what camera are you using? I have created beautiful photographs on full frame I have treated beautiful photographs on the Ricoh gr and the pentax Q . We're starting to be like Hollywood movies creating a lot of standards that are not needed but in this case they're not protecting the industry if anything they're debilitating it more. Won't be long before photographers or spending $3,000 on cameras and working for two hundred bucks a day. As opposed to 20 years ago you could command $500 a day basic for most Publications and start your career on a $500 Nikon or a $1,500 RZ medium-format kit..

Excellent information on your experience with the canon 6d. I just bought a 5d mark ii. I liked your explanation it was very helpful to me. Thanks.
Good work!
Thank you! If you like the images, take a look at my channel, you will find over 900 photoshoots done with the 6D :)
Exactly ! I'm still using my 5D2 and 5d3 for professional work and i'm still very happy with it after all these years!

Wonderful photo - thank you for providing a sample of what the 70-300L can do - I might adopt one of those, such a great lens.
I'm saving up for the 6d, been shooting on apsc 1100d for a couple years now and am desperate to take the next step!
I started on the 1000d many many years ago. If you can afford it try to get a 6dii, if not the 6d is still a phenomenal camera. You will enjoy it! Get a 50mm f1.8 and your world opens up :)
@ got the 50mm 🙂 love it. I don't think I'll be able to afford the 6dii, do u think on a tight budget it'd be worth getting a used 6d or jsut stick to apsc? Seem to get better spec for cheaper with apsc.
@@seanperry1348 I don't see any APSC camera that matches a 5D II or 6D I or 6D II quality wise. I would always go to a 6D with a 50mm f1.8 over any APSC combination. Although the Dual Pixel AF is great to have (80D / 6DII / etc.). But the look of the image on the 6D is excellent in my opinion and on eBay you get them really cheap in great condition.

Do you think the 6d gives a different/better look than the 6d mark ii ?
The 6D II has much better AF when using the flip out screen, its on par with all new cameras like the R6 II (I have that one also). The images look great from the 6D I and II. Look at any of my 1400 videos, nearly all are done with the 6D or 6D II so both are phenomenal. Adda 50mm f1.8 and you're ready to go!
Thank you
what lens do i need with it for wedding? i have 50 mm 1.8, but please select non expensive ones?
@ thank you very much , you are the best

A 6D it will be ...
It's such a robust camera, and a best friend.
which cameras are your favourite? I love my d700 and my SL2
I have a Canon 600D (which I don’t use anymore), a 6D, and a Sony 6300 for videos. I was thinking of buying the EOS R now, but I’ll keep the 6D with me for sure. Such a beast of a camera.
Anyway, was the upgrade to the R worth it?
Andrew Abrigo I have the SL2 and d700 I’m not sure if I should get a 6d or a eos R or a7iii or just save for 1dx ii
It's still good, I think it's worth it, coming from a 6D user, who enjoys a flippy screen, dual pixel AF, and I think one of the best feature that every company should do, that when you take out the lens, there's a blocking mechanism to protect the sensor from dust or anything that can harm it while switching to a different lens.
your images are so beautiful. All with one style. Such a high quality work..

I love that 135 f2 as well. Wonderful images. The 6D is a good camera, but you would've been successful with any brand because you have an eye for composition. Bravo.

Have you replaced the shutter in those cameras?
I bought a 6D with 120.000 shutter actuations so I'm thinking maybe it will fail soon, but the replacement is very cheap
The shutter got an error at 947.000 shots and the other 6D is at 450.000 or so still working great. The same numbers I now have with my 6D II and the 6D II also shows an error at 950.000 shots - at Canon it costs me 630 Euros to repair, at another store they'll do it for 260 (its error 30 I think), I just got another 6DII for 600 instead :)
@ ❤️ thanks!
Awesome timing. Just purchased a 6d this week and I’m loving it so far. I picked it up from eBay for $450 with only 3,900 shutter count and flawless. I hope that I can enjoy it even 1/3rd of the amount that you have.
So cheap. Was it an auction?
scothu it was actually paired with the lens. After selling the lens that was the price of the body only. Figured that trick out from Mattias Burling’s video when he got a 5D classic for $90 after selling the paired lens
@@WesleyDropDead I like to inspect from Craiglist before buying but they always account for lens in their prices lol. So I guess eBay is the cheapest. Got my 6d body for 750 a year ago lol
scothu 750 is still a great price. I was watching a 5D mark 2 (with 9k shutter) listing at the same time as the 6D and it ended up selling for $750. I do think I got lucky with mine though though. I’ve found quite a few gems on eBay (i guess being global and all) but never really found any nice deals on Craigslist or Facebook marketplace. When I bought my 6D lens bundle I found a Facebook marketplace listing for the same exact bundle listed for $1700 whereas mine came out to be $1100 with priority shipping. It may take a month or 2 of searching but eBay always comes thru with something nice eventually
@@WesleyDropDead I got a lens on eBay once and it had a small crack in the glass. Didn't effect picture quality of course but it wasn't mentioned and I wasn't thrilled to keep it so I returned it. Kinda killed my trust in buying used equipment without fully inspecting it. I also came across 6d on Craiglist that was taken apart and looked bunk, so I was happy I dodged that one after closely looking it over lol. I guess key thing for eBay is to check for returns and have good quality pictures to see any imperfections of all sides. Love my 6d but itching for eye detection/mirrorless since I like portraits!
awesome pictures from your 6D, i own a 6D and use it each days too
Amazing camera, right now have still used it for weddings this season :)
@ you will make new vidéo ?
I am always astonished where the Pentacon cameras are showing up, thinking about the fact that they are east german made... Less than 100km from where i live...
Great lenses along with mamiya and pentax.. stop letting people know before eBay scum raise their prices
@@unbroken1010 the times when they were really cheap are over, about 20 years ago you could buy most of them for 5€ or less. Nowadays you can consider yourself lucky to get a 50mm standard with every camera lens for 30€. And every other, more special lens commanding prices 50 and up.
@@MrManniG $50 that's dirt cheap they try to sell them for hundreds in New York
@@unbroken1010 well I live in the very eastern end of saxony wich is like, the polar opposite of new york. But also I mostly try to get good lenses for my EXA series, these are mostly a lot cheaper because they dont have the 42*1mm screw on design but have a now unused bajonett design (like most cameras have today)
Sold! I wanted to move to a 5D II from a 77D but I think I want the 6D for the flippy screen (gettin' old can't lean down so easy). Btw, I do not know why this video has less than a thousand views, it has a plethora of information and amazing photos. Thank you kind sir.
John Adams original 6D doesn’t have a flip screen, the Mark II does.
Nice shots bro! I am still using mine ! Bought it on 2014.. keep it up!
Mike guitar planning to get one from friend it’s got 70,000 clicks. Do you think the shutter mechanism will last past the 100,000 clicks
murali kumar yes! Definitely, well it willl depend how well managed the camera was, but I think for sure will pass 100k
Hello Sir, I just bought a 6D in 2021, thank you for encouraging me!
It's still a great camera, you'll have a great time with it :)
I have my 6D since 2015 and I think that over 85.000 shots! I hope it's like yours and live a long life!
Very thoughtful and sincere review, I am studying photography as well and my sister who is a professional in Cali advised me the 6D as my "beginner" camera, she said to start learning with the "best value" full frame as she still has her 6D along with her Mark 3!
The 6D is still a great camera, although in 2020 I would take a look at the 6D II as well. Nearly half the price now new, take a look at my review to see the new upgrades it offers :)
Just bought one last week low shutter count in great condition and its great to see a review like this gives me a bit of confidence in my new purchase, thank you and all the best from Ireland
You will have much fun and great results with it - take a look at my channel if you want to see some photoshoots done with the 6D :)
@ Just subscribed a few minutes ago and looking at your videos il get through them in time , i love that they are very real world , thank you and continued success
Thank you! @@gonzphotographymusicchanne2855
My guess is that you really like the 6d.
My 6D with my Tamron 24-70 F2.8 VC is still my favourite go to set-up.
Howard Perrott I have used the same setup - love it.
nine hundred thousand shots?! dude, you're awesome!
I use 6d as well and I am in big agreement. I might pick up another
I still use my trusted EOS 40D from 2007 and everything works still though, it is not as weather sealed as 6d for example, I get spots on sensor and needs cleaning from time to time. I was actually thinking of finaly changing camera body for maybe EOS 77D, 80D or 6d mk I. You make really amazing photos, they really pop and they feel "organic" unlike most of the pople who's photos seem overprocessed. You sir, are inspiration for all of us because you make honest review, without any charts or graphs etc but by showing amazing work you do, unlike most people on youtube just talk about specifications and what are the downside and then it seems like it is bad camera to get. Thank you for amazing content.
Hi Zagica, thank you very much for your positive feedback :) I think an upgrade from the 40D will give you a great jump in image quality (high ISO and editing capabilities / Dynamic Range). The 6D I is very cheap on the used market, I can definitely recommend it :)
@ Thank you for your fantastic videos and honesty and honest review and advice! I actually wont Canon EOS 6D (from Germany and I am from Slovenia) and can't wait to get it! I have Canon's EF 50mm 1.8 STM and 70-200 4 IS USM and they will be great on the FF body. I was thinking about the Eos 70/80/77D because ot has Dual pixel AF and touchscreen and 45 af for video and so on, but if I will feel the need I can also get one later as a backup camera, but my main focus is stil photography.
The 6D is great with these two lenses - I much prefer the 6D to the other APSC Cameras, you will have a great time with it :)@@MilatovichFamily
@ Thank you! yes I alrady used it for the shoot, camera is just amazing! And I got it for 550 euros with a bit more than 27.000 shots. Camera is in pristine condition with exceptance of that came without the box and casmera strap, but came with two batteries.
I am with you for Canon 6D. I still have it after all these years.
Excellent points. Some of the same reasons I stick with mine!
Great video man. Many people always be like you need the 5d iv or whatever cause that's what pros use but knowing that you use the 6d as your work pro camera sounds cool I got a 6d ii for amature shots and I love it.
Sweet review. I got a 6D from Ebay for about $400US w/only 7K actuations. I should use it more but I find myself using my 77D and 1D MKIII more often. I got it to have as an "In between" cam. Seeing your shots, I'll definitely try to use it more. I do love the weight though and the simplicity of the menu system and the rear of the cam, compared to the both 5D MKII and MKIII's I sold. Those things were heavy!! Even heavier that my 1D! Thanks again for the inspiration. Funny to see that you have one of the lenses I also have (Tamron 24-70)... I don't use that much either.. Debating weather to replace it with the Sigma 24-105 Art... decisions decisions... Thanks again for the inspiring review... Peace
Hi Macke, thanks for your feedback! You will find over 900 photography videos in which many I am taking pictures and nearly always I have a Canon 6D in my hand :)
Your review was fantastic and I really appreciate your honesty! I was wondering if you could explain a bit more why the combination 6D + 85mm lense is not working, why the images are not in focus. I own a 85mm and was thinking about getting the 6D. Thank you!
@ Thank you so, so so much!
Beautiful photos! Was a great review. I would love to see your workflow in post - only a few seconds editing each photo sounds? Wow...I want to get there too!
I have created a Video Course in which I teach how you can get results like this within 20 seconds:

But you will also find many videos where I am in Lightroom and edit some images here and there on the fly - just look on my channel for "Lightroom". Let me know what you think and if you like the content :)

Thanks for a beautiful vlog
Very comprehensive Dirkson! You just broke other's point of view on the 6D. The compose recompose been into it also and I find it ok with me. A budget full frame can do away much. By the way, I genre is mostly landscape. I am intrigue you mentioned seconds when editing. I am leaning into getting a used quality body having a EF24-105 f4 for a start or with the EF17-40 f4. Thank you for sharing! No one in youtube testified having a million shutter count and still counting!
Thank you very much!
How is the autofocus? Just using for still. Landscape and when I go hiking and camping....
AF is great when using the centered focus points, I always use the middle one for everything and then recompose. Works great even at f1.4 to f2.0.
Wonderful video, very informative and just what I needed. Thank you, Paul
impresonante muchas gracias
Sensor cleaning is done by piezo element that shakes fast , but it only cleans fine partcles , it wont clean big ones . I clean Sensor , and will clean your 5D Mk1 , cuz i have it as well and apriciate it , so if yuo can send it to Croatia , i can pick it up clean it and send it back .
Such a zen camera. That video inspired me to sell my 60D I had for 10 years and upgrade to a 6D. Haven't looked back since. I just got an additional EOS M as a back-up. My primes are: 28mm 1.8, 40mm 2.8 and the Tamron 90mm 2.8
I am just finishing my 40mm f2.8 lens review - such a great small lens!
Nice choice, it could be the case less perfected cameras are more exciting as they involve you more in the produzione. I still use mine.
That's what I'd call a professional… creating amazing shots using the same camera for years. Unlike us hobbyist jumping cameras every few yrs (haven't had a camera that I use more than 5 yrs… )
Thank you very much!
I still use my trusted EOS 40D from 2007 and everything works still though, it is not as weather sealed as 6d for example, I get spots on sensor and needs cleaning from time to time. I was actually thinking of finaly changing camera body for maybe EOS 77D, 80D or 6d mk I.
You're a little bit on the right path although I'm not so sure an amazing photographer would need 1 million exposures that's basically spray and pray but I still give him some props
thats so so true
His images are outstanding!
Why do you shoot with just one hand?
To Film with the other hand :)
@ I want to master this one-hand tecnique like you, very fluid and effective :D
Simply wonderful, the most complete and utterly enjoyable, experiential guide to the 6D. Just bought one for $495 with
3 Primes is a great all-round solution - a wide angle (20mm 24mm or 28mm), a standard (50mm), and a tele (100mm Macro, 85mm or 135mm).
Hola que iso recomoendas para ina biena calodad en bodas con la 6d
Thanks for making this video, now I know how still powerful the 6D is. Planning to buy one soon as my first full frame camera!
Great work and subscribed to your channel!
Thank you very much! It is still a great camera even in 2019 and 2020. If you liked the video, take a look at my channel - you will find over 900 videos like this - please let me know if you like them :)
Great review of the 6d now I want one, and beautiful pictures by the way very nice!
It is super cheap to get especially used
Keep doing what you love!! You use them very well...Peace to all.
Hi, do think i can shoot a wedding with a 24-105mm f4 + 50mm f1.8 + 85mm f1.8 only?
Yes, use the 50mm most of the time. Use the zoom for the wide Angles and the 85mm for emotions and close portraits.
I’m perfectly fine with my 6D. I love it
Had my 6D since 2015 and take approx 10.000 pix pr year. Fantastic camera. I do Streets, every Day life, my kids sports (field hockey) and Stock Photo for an agency
You have great videos. Thank you for this review. Your photography is beautiful.
Thank you very much! Take a look at my channel, you will find many videos like this one :)
Good camera, I have one and use it for landscape and travel photography. I did have a few dead pixels that I remap to remove it from center of images.
I’m new here, but just subscribed. Love your presentation. I use Canon lenses on my Sony a7rii. Just now bought a used Canon 6d with 13,000 shutter count. looking forward to using it,
You will find many photoshoots on my channel with all sorts of lenses on the 6D I and II - take a look - I look forward to your feedback if you like the Videos :) Greetings from Germany, Dirkson!
That is impressive. Have you ever had to change the shutter?
No, have not even ever cleaned the sensor Till now. 6D II is now also at 700.000 and 350.000 shots, also never cleaned :)
@ wow that means that 6d can be bought with a bigger shutter count as well with no significant risk (I don't take too much pictures, so that means plenty of remaining shots for me until it breaks)
