You're the best! I wasted a lot of time for search how to turn on these additional curve objects. It's nowhere info to find, really. Thank you so much!
Ah man this is epic. Saw them in the drop down menu, glad I quickly stop by to view what you've demonstrated. Glad to know there is an entire preset for making ropes/strings. Thanks!
I was seriously just walking around in circles, trying to picture a flexible way to model an arc. Got bored, put YT on, your vid's on the recommended, et voila!
Hey there, thanks a lot for the tutorial, was really helpful, and saved me a lot of time. One question though, I can't see that tab where you change the radius and all the other presets, which would be really really helpful. Is there a way to open it or access it somehow?
Hi The CG Essentials , I regularly use Extra Curves, especially Spline Generator. I got a problem since Blender version 2.93 and then 2.93.1. I could not find TAB "create" in upper right, even i already click "add curve extra objects" and "add mesh extra objects" in add-on section under preferences. It force me to do downgrade my blender to version 2.91, the latest version i still found the add-on working properly. Any suggestion from you about it? Thank you.
Loved the Video although I only seen two things that gave me any ideas to use curves for but I'd love a series going through all the add-ons and their functions. Just a touch on nothing in-depth like this video. Just a thought, it's your time and Thanks for the time here.
Well I might do some list videos later - I usually like to have videos for the individual add-ons first so that I can link to them for more info in the lists though...
I know I’m late on this, but thanks for the helpful video. I am wondering though if there is a way to draw geometry between 2 to 4 curves to create patches of geometry?
@@TheCGEssentials - BTW, the issue I had with the textures bleeding over was only, in part, solved by adding seams. Once the sub surf modifier is applied you can see the the seam has shifted. At present my only solution is to apply the sub surf and redo all the seams. It's annoying because I don't like applying sub surface until the final stages. Essentially it means I can't properly UV unwrap until the sub surf is applied. It's not pleasant because at that point you're working with really complex geometry.
Just a quick question, have the curve options in blender 2.9 been expanded since a year ago? I have found blender quite lacking compared to 3d studio max back then. Edit: so far it looks quite good with the addon, have to see how working/editing with the curves will function. Edit 2: these add-on features are so cool, thanks for this video, subscribed!
Yeah - I found that to be SUPER buggy - it comes back maybe less than half the time - it's probably better to just plan that you won't be able to get it back, but you're right - occasionally that's an option ;)
Imagine how cool it would be if the original parameters remained in the the properties panel (like 3ds max). That would open up huge possibilities for animation especially for motion graphics. C'mon Blender Foundation, make this happen for all the base objects.. The other day I was testing out with the gear objects which can take a bit of messing about to get the gear looking the way you want. Click off and the settings have gone. Back to square one :-(.
Great videos, great work, and very thankful to all of you guys sharing knowledge for us. But just one thing. Lose that intro, it does not reflect your great content and your character. It doesn't fit the sound of the video. I was thinking to comment or not, to be an ass**** or not, but this time that shit scared me (I had my speakers little louder). I hope I don't sound like a hater or something, and my comment helps instead.
I think you could change the title of the video because it may be misleading for people looking for CURVE TOOLS built-in addon. And please, please: upload again your video about finding missing textures. It's broken at higher resolutions and many people have problem watching it.
Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about this add-on in the comments below! :)

You are amazing. Very detailed and nicely explained. All videos are good. Keep it up !!!
Wow. This video is the latest discovery, of hidden gems in Blender. My mind's racing at the possibilities they offer.
Great tool! I can see this preventing so many headaches.

Glad you enjoyed it!
OMG This was really helpful, i was looking for the way to wrap with surves!!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent tutorial! Thanks a lot!
Great Intro video!
Thank you so much. Looking for more great tutorials.
More to come!

Thank you so much for the great tutorial. Just started learning Blender and this helped me alot in the curent project I'm working on!
Phantastik!
The celtic knots will come in handy if you are making a video of someone in a pie fight or bubble bath!
Very, very, helpful. Thanks.
Thanks for video. How do you add vertices once say you’ve picked the rectangle tool?
There's a lot of ways - extruding, adding edge loops, etc. You'd have to be more specific about what you're trying to achieve
Greetings, I enjoyed your video. I have a question, is there a downside to turning on all the add-ons in preferences?
Is there a way to measure the length of a curve once it's been made? Or in my case is it possible to denote every interval of one inch on a curve?

I'm trying to create a 🧵 spool like this that has wires wrapped around how can I do that?
oui
Incredible 😍
:)
Awesome thanks man
No problem 👍
Very Nice thanks

When you click off the object and haven't done anything else you can press F9 (= "Adjust last Operation") and the menu returns.

Yup - occasionally if you type the F9 key it will come back, but not often. I really wish it would retain these windows...
@@TheCGEssentials Maybe "Everything Nodes" will come along and save the day.
Yes, that would be great indeed! 3D studio max is just very complete in how it handles curves.
i cant find it
where can i find the simple curve menu ?
I am also looking for this, did you ever find it?
@@ReddiGamer
I can't find it either, extremely aggravating.
I hope Blender gets a better line tool and snaps. Something like in AutoCad or SketchUp.
WHY Aren't these enabled as standard in Blender?!? Well, I know now!

I think I'm pretty clear on what the add-on is, where to find it, and how to enable it thanks.
Can I get a shout out in your next video I am a small channel and I teach video editing. Love your videos!
I'm not sure randomly asking for shout outs is really the best way to grow your channel...
@@TheCGEssentials okay then thank for relying tho

Wow. The basic Curve tools in Blender are weak.
Greetings, I enjoyed your video. I have a question, is there a downside to turning on all the add-ons in preferences?
