I was under the impression that Riverclan were supposed to be the smart ones, at least till Leopardstar became leader. Most Riverclan cats are pretty level-headed, reasonable, and friendlier than the others they also don't fight other clans very often.
honestly, i'm saddened that the erins didn't decide to go the WindClan route with tunneling and moor running with RiverClan, why not have river channelers? for ex, have the channeling cats make streams around hunting territories to keep land-prey inside, and more places for the fish. also, why not have RiverClan cats ask WindClan if they could go to the barn, and since sheep usually are around barns, take wool for decoration similarly to the shells? anyway i just thought of this idea there may be some fault in some ideas hhh-
I like the idea of channelers! I think it would be awesome to have a super edition set after a at least semi code reform where characters are starting to get creative and find new ways to embrace the lake territory. Heck, even something set between new prophecy and power of three could fit even better!
"I dream of a world where we could get a RiverClan point of view in the modern times to see what's going on there and get some amount of strenght back into the Clan." This was so adorable for me to hear, since ASC came out before I watched this. I guess your dream's come true, Sunny ^^ Great video!
Unfortunately it was half overlap with crookedstars promise. The first half was just a different POV of the same events and the second half was okay but they ruined it with her relationship with tigerstar
It makes me so sad that the Erins do nothing with Riverclan. It would be interesting if Riverclan was more aloof towards the other clans because to their abundance of food and safety from the river. They spend less time worrying about patrols and probably miss gatherings because they just don't really care about the other clans. Then maybe there's a conflict that requires the help of the other clans or whatever. Just anything other Mistystar being older than dirt and Mothwing being mean to poor Shadowsight. (I'm still behind but is Willowshine dead or just forgotten about?)
Willowshine is still alive, but she's been doing next to nothing. She silently shows her sympathy to Mothwing when Mistystar exiles her (but doesn't do anything to actually stop it) and for the sake of the plot doesn't pass Mistystar the information that Bramblestar isn't himself when she learns the truth. She's only gotten a couple very sparse appearances through this whole arc anyway. It's very disappointing.
Minnowtail... MINNOWTAIIIIIIIL! Seriously though, I genuinely want her to get a super edition with her and Mousewhisker that goes over how they deal with having a forbidden relationship. I mean, I think the idea of a super edition about a forbidden relationship between two cats who are still happy in something long-distance. Something set in TBC where Mistystar is starting to crack down on codebreakers would be interesting, because we would get to see a cat who is perfectly happy and fairly loyal to her clan have to *actually* do something to be able to keep her clan and her love. I dunno, there was a bunch of hints set up between these two over a couple books. I think that they could be a great example of a relationship with two cats from different clans that aren't actively harming their respective clans, families and friends by falling in love. Hopefully with the way things are going by the end of TBC the code will change to allow for these relationships, and I think Mousewhisker and Minnowtail could be a great way to bring it in. Also, we always need more relationships where they *don't* need to have kits to be happy considering the extreme population growth.
Yes! I’d atleast love if they could imply it again to show they’re still happy together 😂 Or have her have mystery kits as part of the plot or something. I think it would be a better novella if they made it main focus tho
We still have every opportunity and more some now to have this ship in the books now with the broken code. Please erins do not forget mousewhisker and minnowtail and please let us have them

This is partly one (of many) reasons why i'm so upset about the decision to bring SkyClan to the lake. The LAST thing we needed was a 5th massive cluster of characters to keep track of when one of the four we already had has been shoved to the sidelines and all but forgotten about for years. RiverClan somehow has even less to do now then they did before 😔
@@legrandliseurtri7495 yeah and their backstory makes me want them to keep their individuality and not just become discount thunderclan. So. Here's *MY* theory. There is something wrong in Riverclan. I might be giving the erins too much credit, but... She exiles mothwing. then the two others. She refuses to attend Vigil. When the big imposter reveal happens, she disagrees with killing the imposter. My theory is she's working with the baddies. Maybe she's an imposter too. We have no idea how many lives she has left, maybe her last life was taken and the Mistyimposter moved in while her soul drifted off. Maybe Mothwing thinks she's working with a cunning clan leader. Maybe Mothwing's in on it too. Maybe Mothwing's also an imposter. (I mean, if there's one, why not more?) it seems unlikely, but why not?
It's a very good video Sunny! Very informative and engaging, while highlighting the problems on the lack of focus on RiverClan and the butchering of established characterizations. #notmymothwing
I agree that for most people RiverClan is most appealing because their way of life is what most would consider the most fun when imagining themselves in warrior cats, which I think is also why I have NEVER liked RiverClan as a whole. Just make Reedwhisker leader already. He's probably the easiest cat to build around for character development. Making him turn evil would probably be the best for RC.
BGA went into that and she said that Mothwing behaving like that is probably because she’s broken and I agree. She’s gone through a lot, losing your Clan that you fought so hard to get respect from, then losing your best friend is going t make you act out of character. I think it’s more interesting to see her react with normal emotions to losing everything you have ever known.
I am very glad that in a starless clan we actually get some things about RiverClan that actually are important. We really needed more RiverClan, and we got it
They reason I chose RiverClan as the Clan I would be in if I was in this series is because of many reasons. The main reason is because I am lazy and hate being uncomfortable, so the ease and comfort of he Clan would be good. I'm not much of a fighter, so it's good they don't fight as much. I also love swimming and seafood, so that works out as well!
Riverclan use to be my favourite clan, but the way it’s been written in the newer series made me change my mind to Skyclan being my favourite. I’m honestly disappointed on how the writers are treating Riverclan and hopefully in a newer series Riverclan and even Windclan can get a point of view.
Wait... but isn't Mistystar half-clan? Why would she focus so much on Code Breakers, when it was clear during Bluestar's death that she never had a serious problem about it before. In fact, her brother was killed for being half-clan, and surely she would see the similarities between then and now! Edit: Nevermind, Sunny brought it up. This is why I shouldn't write comments in the middle of videos, lol.
I would love a Super Edition on Riverstar and more about how he set up an official mentoring system. Given how in Dawn of the Clans, it seems like cats just started taking younger cats along with them, I like to think that Riverstar is the one who came up with the naming/ranking system in order to make apprentice training more streamlined and defined. And if there are going to be more series, I would like to see us move away from ThunderClan and even the current timeline in general. I would not mind going back to a few generations after DotC or a few generations past the current timeline, in which we get a whole cast of brand new characters and all the current cats (or at least the protagonists of the other series) are dead. Fresh characters that are not restricted or overshadowed by old characters could potentially breathe new life into the series.
Mothwing, Leafpool, and Squirrelflight have been my favorite characters since childhood. And RiverClan my favorite clan. I haven't read any of the books since 2014 or so, but I've been getting back into the series lately through videos recapping, analyzing, etc. the more recent arcs. I guess some will say I don't have a right, then, to comment on this but... I'm really disappointed with where things have gone and how these characters that meant so much to me as a kid have been used and treated by the Erins. Warriors was never the best series ever written. Nor does it aim to be. But I'd still wish for and expect better from it than what we've been getting. But that's just my thoughts 🤷
It also irks me that they also brought in a whole new clan to the mix too. Like I get they set up the whole 5th clan before this was a problem, but Sky Clan doesn't contribute to the story besides being new neighbors to shadow and thunder clan. Please Erin's, we know thunder clan is your baby but give us eyes in river clan. They have the potential to do cool stuff like claim the gathering place or like how there was the drought and they became anal over the fish.

So, about the begining where you talk about where each of the clans hunt, you mention that shadowclan ''hunts in the dark''. It's funny cause their territory is indeed always portrayed in the books as being sinister, in the shadows, dark...even tho their old territory at least was a swamp. And well, swamps are in fact often quite beautiful. Like, if I had to pick a place where to live, I would have followed Tall Shadow with no hesitation. As opposed to moth, who had a tyrant murderer for a father, and a kitty pet for a mother. You do know that having significant kitty pet blood makes you suspicious amongst the clan
Shadow in riverclan is good and I have hopes for riverstar super edition
Ive never been this early. Second.
Congrats :3
So, about the begining where you talk about where each of the clans hunt, you mention that shadowclan ''hunts in the dark''. It's funny cause their territory is indeed always portrayed in the books as being sinister, in the shadows, dark...even tho their old territory at least was a swamp. And well, swamps are in fact often quite beautiful. Like, if I had to pick a place where to live, I would have followed Tall Shadow with no hesitation.
Also, I haven't read the broken code yet(I want the full arc at once next christmas), I can't watch the second half:(
Im on both sides too! The general clan like how they swim, ect. is good, but what they do in the books is well just weird or boring.
you need to do this video again since the feathertail book is out lmao
maybe once A Starless Clan book 1 is out and/or Riverstar`s SE?
Mothwing is gonna become evil 😼
Honestally RiverClan just got bad cases of the erins mostly using less developed characters and using RiverClan just as plot convenience
I'm gonna say this right now.
Riverclan should have been kicked out instead of skyclan
Riverclan was the worst clan? I thought windclan was? Especially under Onestar.
My biggest problem is how medicine cats are nerfed in the broken code, and everything past the first series (other than that one continuity error in the first book). HELLO, YOU ARE THE ONLY CATS WHO CAN REBUTE THE LEADER
You may not worship StarClan, Mothwing, but come on, do better! You can punish Mistystar!
Meow
Ok but shadow clan is the best clan
