I had thought of trying this but always though of doing this but was certain the covers would bust, just as the originals were. After having my covers sitting around for 2-3years, I ran across this video, and it gave me the confidence to try. Sure enough, it took a tremendous amount of force, but the repros were pliable enough to flex and allow the seatbelt to push through as shown here. Worked like a charm. Thanks for posting this!!! Otherwise, I would have never put mine on without finding how to dissassemble the complete coil spring.
