That's awesome. I'm very happy to see more people restoring these cars. I wish you luck, my friend, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. I know these cars pretty well.
@@jeepadventures909 Thank you! I wanted to ask were all the body, trim clips on the bed and tailgate originally metal or was that an upgrade you made like you did on the front windshield?
@elcaminodraco it was an upgrade. All the original hardware was plastic, but I found that the older elcamino hardware was metal, and it was the same as the plastic, so I used the metal stuff. Hopefully, the next guy that restores the car ((((when I'm dead and gone. because that's the only way some other guy is getting his hands on it)))) appreciates it lol.
Hey great video do you know where I can find just the corner pieces at the end of the tailgate that you didn’t put on.. it connects those two pieces you installed together
I'm sorry I didn't reply to this sooner. I had a battle with a bad health problem that has kept me away from my hobbies and social media. I made a video on all the trim but lost most of my footage when I moved to a new shop. If you need any help still I'll try my best to walk you through it.
Thank you for watching. Usually if I find something that gives me trouble I try to show people the way to do it or make it better. I'm always glad to help when I can.
Hello. Here's a link to a Amazon listing for the clips. Those plastic ones are crap. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Retro-Motive Windshield or Rear Window Molding Trim Clips for 68-81 GM (Qty-20 Clips) #118 a.co/d/hWZmucq
I bought mine at a little mom and pop bolt company named "SoCal Bolt" in the city of upland CA. I'm sure they do phone orders. As for the other specialty clips I bought them from Dixie restoration online. They have good quality stuff and decent price.
How do I attach the trim on the door that separates the two tone? I have new clips but I can’t figure out how to attach it without bending original trim
I know it feels like you're going to damage it but you gotta give it a good slap with the soft back side of your fist after you kinda hook the top side on the clip. I hope I was able to explain this in a way you can understand. Let me know if that works.
@@jeepadventures909 ok thank you !!! I’ll give it a try! I was thinking I had to set the clips into the trim by sliding them from the side but I couldn’t figure out how to attach it to the car securely that way. I knew the clips had to be attached to the body first . I’ll give it a try !
Beginning the removal process for these along with the front & rear windshield trim this year. 💪🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾😎

Yes, the last time I checked the website www.dixierestorationdepot.com/default.aspx had all the trim pieces. Also try this site www.gbodyparts.com/
Did you ever make a video for the trim above the back window?

Is there a removal video by chance?
Do you have any guidance on how to do the top rail ?
@JeepAdventures Can you provide link or picture of the Metal clips you suggest for the G Body Trim above rear window.. Thanks Much

What about the tailgate molding??
You think you can give me an idea of where I can get all of the trim clips for the paint & body work I will need done in the future?

Need to put the rear corners on first because there's a screw hole behind that long side piece.

great video! very informative.
How did you do the top part? Can’t find the video
The one above the window?
@@jeepadventures909 yes sir. The one above the window with the slide on clips. How do you do that?
Don't use those shitty plastic clips. Use metal clips from a impala. It will snap right in and hold forever.
