    Oldschool bikes with no canbus were easier to equip with aux lights. All you need was to trigger the relay with the correspondent instrument's (high beam, horn, break light etc) positive wire...😊

    You MAY actually be able to connect that other company's brake lights to the CANsmart, if you make an adapter so that it plugs into one of the CANsmart circuit connectors. And as long as there's no controller or programming inside that aftermarket brake light. Then you should be able to allow the California Legal Flashing (flash, flash, flash, solid) and the deceleration braking to work for those aftermarket brake lights. You do need some sort of brake light plugged into the CANsmart in order to get access to these special braking features. The same applies for Driving lights or Fog lights. Any OEM driving or fog lights won't have those special features like strobe with horn, or dimming, unless those OEM lights are wired into one of the CANsmart circuits. But then you would no longer control them with the factory aux light switch.
    There's so much you can do with these types of controllers!
    What are your thoughts now that you've had them for a year?

    Great instructional video Colin. I haven’t actually used these particular lights but the pc connection is interesting. I do have to use printed instructions all the time and we won’t talk about how much I’ve worked with them or can-bus systems. I do have to say, I’ve never been intelligent enough to use my “smarter” half as a spotter for intensity optimization.🤣
    Be well my friend. 🤙🏼

    • @Broncoride

      I don’t have a specific one but Denali walked me through a couple things. The install really isn’t difficult. My biggest time I spent on it was removing tank. Saying that, you really don’t need to do that. Just run wires underneath but I would recommend picking up some wire loom. Everything else is plug and play and just mounting hardware for lights.

    So i thinking of going with D4s on the top and then maybe later on get a pair of D7s for the lower crash bars. For the brake light I was originally thinking of going with the B6 but these look better. Horn I am getting hella two tone horns and custom wiring made which just sounds like a car horn, since pressure horns are illegal where I live. I wanted to check if you get the harness for connecting the lights with this cansmart or you need to purchase separate harness ?

    • @Broncoride
      @Broncoride  Рік тому +1

      The cansmart has the wires to plug into the units. I connected via plug and play the front two sets of lights. The horn would do the same if you have their horn or another aftermarket. Remember, the brake lights I picked up don’t work with the Cansmart, so if you want strobing, these don’t work. You will need to get the B6 to have that. The T3 are just run, brake, and turn.

    • @Dude_Virus
      @Dude_Virus Рік тому

      @@Broncoride Thanks for the reply, good to know that I don't need to get additional wiring harness. So if the T3s dont work with the cansmart, then how did you connect those ? I was thinking of getting a single B6 as that would be sufficient enough as an additional brake light but then these T3 look much better. And I am also planning to get some running lights put on my top case. Since the PanAm battery is all the way at the front, did you need to modify the cansmart wires that connect to the battery or are they long enough to reach thr battery even when the device is placed under the rider or pillion seat?

    • @Broncoride
      @Broncoride  Рік тому +1

      @@Dude_Virus you need a separate brake harness for T3. I called them and they told me which one I needed for T3. It’s a plug and play adapter that goes into existing OEM one. As for cansmart, they are long enough for sure.

    Thanks for sharing these. A guy I work with has these on his African Twin. I have been thinking about adding the D4 LED light pods to my Ultra Limited since I do a lot of highway riding to work at night. My trip to and from work is almost 100 miles round trip. These will be awesome for some extra lighting to light up the side of the highway. The guy at work his D4 lights strobe its pretty cool.

    Looks way cool on a Pan America! I guess the usefulness depends on whether or not you ride a lot at night on lonely dark roads. Can’t believe how wimpy the stock Harley rear lighting is! I guess part of the “adventure” is wondering if the guy behind you is gonna see those lights. Do they sell a kit to convert the stock turn signals to run-brake-turn lights? I have a kit that does just that on my Road King and it definitely helps.

    • @Broncoride
      @Broncoride  2 роки тому

      Oh, they are pretty weak. That was first thing I noticed when riding at night. I believe they do sell a kit that would convert the OEM brake. I’d rather get a better light and then do conversion.
