Put the thing on the centre stand, turn the engine on and listen if the noise has gone. If yes, then you can't blame HD for an after market exhaust which has a design issue. If no, then the dealership could be BSing you.
More concerning was what SEEMED to be more noise coming from your front piston. Mine started getting engine coolant in the front piston. Thought it was a head gasket but it was deemed good. Replaced it anyway AND changed the front piston/piston rings. Also, it stealing on you. Mine had been nothing but trouble since i bought it in Nov 22. Contacted legal counsel for lemon law. Been in the shop close to 10 times with just over 5,000 total miles.
@@dylkelley I ended up having another issue not related to this one. Took it into the dealer and they updated the modules as well as changed the fuel pump. All under warranty but I only had 3 weeks left of coverage. I ended up trading the bike in on a KTM 1290 Super Adventure R. So far, I'm happy with the trade.
the same thing just happened with my 24 CVO Panam. It literally sounds like the front end of the motor is tearing itself apart. I had the service manager ride it around the parking lot and they suggested I leave it there, so I did. I am supposed to hear back from them tuesday, but they did say its most likely the cam chain. I will let you know what I find out. My bike only has 1900 miles on it.
Good luck. I ended up trading mine for a KTM1290SAR shortly after this. I had another incident with it going into limp mode in the sand. After the dealer "updated the software" (again) i had had enough. It's unfortunate because I really had a lot of fun with this bike.
I have over 30,000 miles on my PAS same color. Had a fuel pump go out at 20,000 and now it’s starting to scream again so it’s a matter of time until they will change fuel pump again.
Not sure I can hear am odd noise, I can hear the valve train, the motor is normal and sounds normal to me. I have a Pan Am Special, got it in March 2023, I ride it pretty much everyday.
My 22 in the Philippines has had a long list of problems but my engine noise was a alternator rotor and the VVT (variable valve timing) makes a lot of noise under power below 3500 RPM. I am trying to get a refund under a lemon lay here. It has been in the dealer over 3months in a 13 month period and the dealer tells me another month yet to wait. It has less than 10,000 KLM on it. I don't trust it anymore as it has been towed back to the dealer 4 times. NO MORE HD
I bought a BMW three years ago. F850. Never had any problems. That’s because of being built in Germany. I was considering buying a Harley Adventure bike, but after seeing people with problems, Dealers not helping them guess I won’t.
When I removed my right side engine cover to change the clutch that Harley said was not covered on the warranty with 3,000 MI I found the rear cam chain was very very loose it's presently at the dealer getting looked at now. If they tell me they can't find anything I am probably going to trade it in, I refuse to own this thing unless it's covered under warranty.
No, the center is spring loaded and wont stay down unless it's supporting the weight of the bike. And when doing so the rear tire is off the ground so i don't see how that would even be possible. Unless I'm misunderstanding your question.
@@retiredbiker if the center stand is rattling on the exhaust, place the bike on the center stand and start it. If the noise stops then you know HD was right. If the noise persists, the stand can’t be rattling on the exhaust and is probably something else.
2022 just turned 19,000 and cgange going in for 20,000 mile service soon , replace rear tire chain and sprockets. About a week ago fuel pump started getting louder when riding . A screech from pump somestimes when ignition is first turned on. We will see what the mechanic h as to say when he hears it This will be my first issue with it.

Where did you get the foot peg mount and footpegs up by the radiator? Thanks

Mine is noisy too. Sounds like valve lash or piston slap.

I have the same engine noise on mine is 4500 miles. No performance Issues
Sorry if I state the obvious, but did you put the center stand down and run it?

my PA sounds like that everytime .fter i drop it. pik it up and run it ! its warrantied isnt it?
Do you still have the PA?
No, I traded it in on a KTM1290 Super Adventure R

You do NOT need to tighten the bike down that much. Just enough to not wobble when you turn. You will blow your fork seals.

4:35 no sh--!
22,000 km no noise .
let the oil go back down to the crank case next time / fluke H-D
It wasn’t dropped. It just died while I was sitting still. Then made noise on the restart. You can hear it go away. Dealer said it was normal so…
Showing your load up and drive is a waste of valuable video time.
But I appreciate you watching it. Enjoy your day.
Well that's just rude.
