I love when creators speak about budgets/not buying things just to buy things. It’s both much more relatable and helping reduce the overconsumption trend that’s been around on UA-cam for years :) I love shopping videos/hauls! But it’s nice to see that the purchases are always intentional/mindful!
My Abercrombie also has super limited inventory in general! I feel like I see so many cute pieces online and only like 30% are actually ever in the store, especially in larger sizes 🥲 thanks so much for doing this series!! I’ve been loving them
Loving the blonde hair!! The first pair of jeans looked great on you! Have you ever thought of doing a “what would Rachel wear?” Video. Viewers can message you with upcoming events they need outfit inspiration for. You can “shop” your closet to create outfits that you would wear to the event. Could just be fun to play dress up! ❤
I love that you explain your thinking behind buying or not buying an item. It will remind me to do the same. Sometimes I see try ons and I want everything, but realize quickly the items won’t get worn much or be something I grab to wear. Thanks for doing a real girl try on and only buying based on what you really need.
I live in Algeria and the most popular stores in the mall are zara(but most ppl are boycotting it right now), bershka and h&m,we don't have old navy, Abercrombie or Hollister 🤷♀️, great vid btw😍💞💞
I have no experience with in store shopping because I exclusively shop online, but typically find it pretty easy to find my size online at Abercrombie (XL,16, 34). The curve love denim shorts are elite. They are the only jeans shorts I’ve ever found that fit my thick thighs the way the shorts were intended to be cut
The age-old dilemma of considering buying something just because it actually fits! To me anyway, that’s what prevents me from online shopping unless I know 100% it’s the correct size. So I don’t really try new brands unless I have already thrifted an item from them, so I can gauge size/fit/quality for a more affordable price. I went to Target recently to try on swimsuits and it was still an ego-killing, humbling experience. Sorry for ranting, but if you do end up purchasing online from Abercrombie again would love to see what you get! I really loved the jeans and shorts!
YAS. Abercrombie has been my postpartum God send. I had no idea what size I was and ended up being a 12, and I felt SO good in their jeans at a 12. And now at a 4 I still feel really good. Anyways, I’ve had my eyes on the suede shorts; so seeing you try those on and other items is amazing and someone who can only order online. Keep doing these please! Nobody talks about the struggle of finding clothes postpartum that not only FIT but make you FEEl good no matter the size!! Awesome video Rachel 🖤
You’re spoiling us with all these great videos girlie!! 🌸🌸 Loooooving these try-on videos especially since we have a similar body type. Keep it up girl! Also…loving the hair!!!!
Here for the European girlies ✨✨✨Specifically in Portugal, where I am from, I'd say Spanish clothing brands like Zara and Mango are still the most popular "mall" clothing brands. Probably followed by other european brands: Pull&Bear, Primark, H&M, Springfield, Tiffosi, Stradivarius and Bershka. I'm not sure if any of these are popular in the US. North American stores like Abercrombie, Urban Outfitters and Skims exist in some european countries - but not all. Popular American brands that are widespread would be like Levi's for jeans and sports brands like Nike. Still, I will keep watching these dressing room try ons, they're just fun ^^
Ahhh I get what you’re saying about the button down short dress not fitting your lifestyle with the baby and all but omg it’s so cute on you!!! I love it!
From Ireland - the big ones when I was a teen were H&M and New Look, H&M had and still have a much smaller size range than New look. Now its Zara, H&M, Bershka, Penneys (Primark), online ASOS, and older demographic Next, M&S and Dunnes. Think there's like 1 or 2 Abercrombie stores in Ireland.
I lived in Germany in middle school/high school and there was an Abercrombie store at my local mall. My friends and I went to the grand opening and took a photo with the half naked men at the front 😂 what a time
We’re living in Japan currently. They have Gap, H & M, Zara, at several of the malls near us. They do like sports here especially soccer and baseball, so many outlet malls have brands like Nike, Adidas, Champion, Under Armour etc. It’s been challenging shopping for clothes here, but at least we can still get clothing online delivered to us. 😅
This is the first video I have seen of yours, I’m ready to watch more! Where did you get the greenish shorts that you wore into the dressing room?! So cute❤
Loving these types of videos!! I will say I didn't find many items in store that were my size but much prefer them online (it's the same with Old Navy in my personal experience). Also, never buy full price! They run promotions pretty frequently and work with the influencer community, giving them codes you can stack.
Obsessed with the new hair!! 👩🏼 Bummed about the sizing in store at Abercrombie 😢 I don’t love shopping online so that is unfortunate. Loving these new videos 😻
Aussie here - stores popular here are: Teens/young adults - cotton on, supre, Ally fashion Adults - country road (I would say is similar to Abercrombie), sports girl, ghanda, seed, witchery, sabo, Cheaper stores include, showpo, billy J, Esther and co, asos, H&M ❤
Hi Rachel, I found you through Sierra 😊 I’m a fairly new subscriber and have really been enjoying your videos. You seem so down-to-earth and someone I’d be friends with irl. Congrats on all the new subs and keep up the good work!!
Stores will stock based off of sizes that are selling at that location so they aren’t going to stock the sizes that sell the most. The last 2 years I have become a HUGE Abercrombie Fitch jeans fan!! The only ones I wear now! Try the ultra high rise straight leg cropped 😍
I feel the same....loved everything I have ever bought online from Abercrombie but in person I struggle to find anything in my size...I am like a 16/18 and there is sometimes one or two things in person but I only do online now.
As a small (sometimes XS) I can tell you my brick and mortar a&f is suuuuper limited. I always find 10x more in sizes and style selection online versus in store. Idk why it’s like this, but I don’t even bother going in anymore unless I happen to be at the mall and it happens to be completely empty. Online >>>> in store
The Abercrombie in my home town mall recently closed due to lack of business, but before it closed the sizing was also limited on L/XL. Also love this series ❤
Welcome to plus size shopping! we end up shopping online versus stores because they don't have our sizes. I hate going into stores because I know I'm not going to find my size usually or I don't like the stuff that they have for my size
I had a similar backstory with abercrombies- had like one sweater i saved for and hand me downs! I was thinner in middle school and even then had trouble finding things that fit, but Im glad to see its changing. Another funny story I was wearing an abercrombie shirt on the day of 8th grade field day which led to my future high school gym teacher calling me abercrombie all day and then for 4 years 😂😂😂
As someone who is the same size and body shape as you, I have been really loving these videos! Seeing the prices of the very basic items was disappointing. Thanks for making me not want to go there 😂❤ think I will stick with old navy
there are a few abercrombie stores in London, UK but I don’t really go to them because I am more of an online shopper. Shopping on the abercrombie app is really quick and easy for me, quick and free delivery is always nice too. I did go to the store the other day to do some returns and the stores are just so tiny, they don’t have enough space in their stores to shelf all the products they sell online so i just prefer to shop on the app when i get sale 40% emails!
I’m only 5’5” and I buy all their mini skirts and dresses in a tall because I totally agree with you the regular is too short if you have a booty at all.
I think a lot of their customer base is those of us that remember them from high school & now are a size twelve! They need to not bite the hand that feeds them! 🐶🐶😉
I’m from South Africa and we don’t have even a quarter of the stores you guys have, I feel in my age group most people are shopping at cotton on, factorie and H&M
Any time I find Abercrombie in a consignment store I get so excited and nostalgic (I was too big for their clothes in HS, but have recently lost 200lbs in my 30s) and show my 10 year old daughter. She just doesn’t get it and tells me my millennial is showing😂😂😂
Congratulations on the weight loss!! I thrifted an Ambercrombie t-shirt for my husband and when we went somewhere some lady asked him if his name was Ambercrombie.
Ooh yeah interested for h&m lol. I hadn’t shopped there in so long but they had some jeans that I liked the look of recently so I went to try them on. Glad I did that before buying, because I’m usually a size 4 or 6, but I had to get size 10 in all of those jeans. And even then, they are tiiiight before I do a bunch of squats in them lol. But they are my favorite pairs of jeans; I’m wearing them right now. Super strange sizing, though
Hrm, it's not really a store I've ever reconsidered. Too haunted by the past. But I appreciate you trying it out for us, opening a window into possibilities
I like abercrombie but i wish they had a tall options for their tops. Their blouses never work for me because they all run short in the sleeves and torso. I do have several sweaters and i used to have jeans and they have all held up really well.
I would say that in Germany, the most popular stores for women‘s clothing probably are H&M, C&A, Zara and New Yorker… I don’t even know if some of these are a thing everywhere 😂
I am Dutch and some popular clothing (physical) stores are H&M, Zara, Primark, C&A, the Sting, Ter Stal, miss Etam, Coolcat. I think only H&M and Primark are international?
I'm loving the fash content but feel like we have had a lot recently and not as much else. Mybe only 2 fashion videos on monthly might help to space it out
I am just making videos that are fun for me and that the audience responds to! Numbers don’t lie and an overwhelming amount of my viewers seem to love this content. As promised, a vlog will be out every Friday!
My daughter, who is now 31, worked at Hollister once upon a time. She was hired to work in the stock room, and it was made clear to her that there was a reason certain people were back room and certain people were front of store ( front of store were called models). Shame shame shame! I certainly hope this isn’t happening anymore!
"Not everything has to have pockets" That may be true in life but not in my wardrobe anymore! I'm really trying to stop buying any dresses/bottoms without pockets. As you said, simply everything should have pockets in this day and age!
Omg yes the teenage trauma. Pretty sure Abercrombie should’ve funded half my eating disorder treatment. Congrats on the jump in subscribers! You so deserve it. Hiiii new people!
haha when i mentioned to my friend that USA stores aren't stocking the plus sizes in-store, only online, she said that's because bigger people don't want to be seen in stores. she's a US size 4 😒 & I'm a 12. she didn't appreciate me saying how incredibly wrong she was
As a 35 y/o women who’s a size 12/14 I’m terrified to walk in that store. I just remember them selling sizes xxs-l tops and that’s it and that still all I can think about
My twin sons are now 41 they both worked at Abercrombie while in going to a Jesuit all boys HS. They both played hockey and their buddies would like to go to see them on Saturday to see them half naked. It was funny to them. Now, ones a Delta pilot and the other a United pilot. Now should I tell you about their older sister… lol
Sad to see some things never truly change… the sizing running small, the lack of size options, and everything being short and tight. They’re still pushing their body standard (and making sure that it will only cover the bare minimum on the bodies they “want to dress”). Glad I never gave Abercrombie a chance with their “revamp”; as a tall girl, nothing would be long enough in the things I would want. Thank you for the insight from this video Rachel!! These have been really helpful in knowing which brands I actually want to give my money to!!! 💕💜
I know what you mean about the thighs on their curve love jeans. It’s the whiskering. I ended up dyeing my pair black and it took away the whiskering, and now they look like they fit 10x better and now I wear them constantly. These jean brands need to let us live, why are they all bleached to highlight specific leg shapes when we all have our own leg shapes?
I love when creators speak about budgets/not buying things just to buy things. It’s both much more relatable and helping reduce the overconsumption trend that’s been around on UA-cam for years :) I love shopping videos/hauls! But it’s nice to see that the purchases are always intentional/mindful!
