Another note on Mika's design is that she is heavily based off of Joshi wrestlers. Joshi is Japanese women's wrestling and most competitors have outrageous costumes and a very common move is the flying peach which is basically Mika's wingless airplane!
Flying peach and wingless airplane are actually two distinct moves in her moveset. Flying peach is the butt attack and wingless airplane is the anti-air grab.
Wingless airplane is when she sits on your face.
Am I the only one who wonders why Mika's outfit isn't... you know... rainbow coloured? Oh, and good video or whatever.
+The4thSnake Well she was given the name from Harmageddon in reference to some inspirational imagery in a letter from her. A rainbow-coloured outfit probably wouldn't have been as visually distinct or fit well in a single-character's aesthetic, since too many colors can make a design look messy.
But this is just my opinion. I'm mostly just going off what DiGi has said.
***** Oh, I'm not suggesting she SHOULD wear rainbow colours, just that it's surprising she's not. She'll probably get something like that as an alt colour or a full costume in SFV.

+The4thSnake He briefly mentioned her and yah, all we know at this point is what we've seen in the SF5 beta and that she was in Mika's promotional art, I don't believe she's had a presence in related media even.

Playing as Rainbow Mika made her my most favorite character to play as other than Cammy.

When you beat Karin with Mika, she says something along the lines of "Hey thanks for the sponsorship and the match!"
I'm expecting some more shenanigans in story mode.

@@DiGiValentine funny how you didnt mentio r. mikas butt attack, oh well. r. mikas one of my favorite street fighter characters along with poison(you should do a who dat on her/him.lol :3), sakura,chun li,laura,ibuki,makoto and elena(you should consider doing ones for the last 2 as i think you could do a funny/great who dat on them.)i think for street fighter alpha 3 the fights against bison arent canon while the characters destroying parts of the phsycho drive are(i know alongside mika, sakura,ken,sagat,vega,cammy and ryu's are canon while most of the others are debatable and charlie,guile, and akuma's arent.also weir how yamato hasnt had a story in the games despite being mikas partner outside of the comics recently where she's a heel upset at being left out of mikas return.)

Y'know, the thought had drifted in my mind for a while, but now that I know of Harmageddon's existence, it makes me crave a Street Fighter of the past even more.
The days when Gen was a young assassin, when Gouken and Akuma were the young Shotos just getting going, when Harmageddon was at the peak of her career, when Oro was in his prime. Street Fighter has so many "Old Masters" now that it makes me want to see them all in their prime, especially since the story mode for that hypothetical game could let us better examine the characters that followed in their footsteps.
+JacksonJin ..you know, in all my years being a fan of this series this idea never crossed my mind but you've convinced me. This would be such an interesting spin-off entry to the series. I would be very interested in seeing something like this. It could even feature Chun-Li's father too since he would have been alive and in his prime at that point.

For sure an interesting idea and I'd say the same goes for real life. We've had plenty of old masters who'll we never see in their prime because there was a lack of video cameras back then and stuff like that.

R Mika was originally voiced by none other by Takeuchi Junko
who wasn't famous for her Rasengan's etc back in 1998, being the voice of Naruto is probably the reason why Mika's SFV Japanese voice doesn't sound as iconic Junko was replaced by Hiromi Igarashi in SFV.

Amazing Episode about my All-Time favorite character in this universe. However, you missed something when it comes to R. Mika's presentation and her outfit. It was actually inspired by Old Joshi Wrestling in Japan. Female Joshi Wrestlers wore outfits like this all the time and it was so they would be remembered as well as because it was flashy. This is what Capcom used for their inspiration of Mika.

+JacksonJin Regarding her outfit in SFV, honestly i'm not fussed. I know it's a little more revealing than her previous outfit but i don't think it's gone too far nor is it such a radical change from what it was in Alpha 3.

What's interesting to know that in Street Fighter V's cinematic story, R.Mika is shown in a tag-team match with Zangief. Also, in another part of the story, Karin and a few of her guests are seen watching that very match on a giant screen in her estate.
R.Mika is pretty much the Sakura of Zangief since in SFV they became master and student becoming a tag team

Don't worry, I don't know much about wrestling either! But Street Fighter 5 is looking more and more exciting with every character they confirm will be in it! And Mika and Yamato Nadeshiko are definitely the characters in the most excited for! Especially since Mika is my favorite character to play as in the Street Fighter 3 games! Her level of enthusiasm for something other than being the strongest in the world is extremely refreshing for this series!

They should do a spin off game "Street Fighter Wrestlers." It focuses just on the various wrestler characters and they fight in the ring. Maybe even add in Mike Hagar for the fun of it.

Great video, but mika's eye color change is due to original sprite just being a limited pallete color swap, her eyes share the same shades of color as her clothes, so when the clothes change, her eyes change along with it. In Street fighter 5, her eyes stay blue regardless what color you pick.
It like how some characters boots or belt share skin tones, so when there skin changes color, the boots and belt or object that share with it will change the same.
This happens a lot in 16 bit games + capcom CPS2 games, where the colors are limited to 15 colors + 1 clear color per sprite.
I'd guess her eye color matches the outfit bc a simple pallette swap was the fastest way to implement her alt outfits.
