I bought the Blackshark V2 at launch, was very happy with them though started to get into entry level audiophile stuff. Ended up with an AT AD-500 but plugged into the Razer USB sound card so I get the much nicer audio alongside the ability to change the profiles through the Razer software depending on if I am playing a game, listening to music etc. I don't bother with the software surround etc but it does have a normalisation setting which works well to not go deaf playing Tarkov. Definitely a hybrid approach and plan on getting a proper DAC/Amp but for now works well.
Are there more detailed / audiophile focused reviews of gaming headsets and headphones out there? Sure, but Dmitry cares about exactly the same things I care about with headsets, and for the last couple of years, I've 100% agreed with Dmitry's favorites. I'm curious how he'd rate the React Plus or EPOS H6Pro's compared to the king of gaming headset mic's, the Drop PC37X.

Personally, I feel a mounted microphone will always be the way for me. The reason I still look into gaming headsets over enthusiast level headphones is because I want to shift to a 2.4GHz wireless. Wireless headset with mounted microphone just seems like the absolute optimal setup for gaming, meetings, and recording. Just hoping for your G435 review. Honestly I'm just happy they introduced a new cheap headset with both 2.4GHz and BT, which is something I wish the Barracuda X had because I much prefer the low profile version of the Barracuda X over the G435. Hoping the next Logitech Pro X Wireless will carry this feature, but its unlikely cause the BT feature on top of 2.4GHz is pretty niche in the performance end. Also hoping you review the GTW 270 Hybrid, since it seems its the first wireless in-ears with low latency functions for gaming. IIRC, it uses aptx Low Latency with its own usb-c dongle to achieve this.
Thanks for giving us a very wide range of headphones to look at! I've actually been taking a closer look at the new H3Pro Hybrids from EPOS and would love to see what you guys have to say about them, especially considering their price range and feature set.

I use the wireless big brother of the logitech, the G733, and it's fantastic. Audio is tunable with the G software and the memory foam earcups are super comfy. I definitely recommend.
I switched from an open-back headset to a wireless headset and even though it would be a downgrade in terms of audio quality, I don't really notice the difference that much. I more prefer the convenience over my wire getting stuck all the time. And yes audiophile headphones will sound better in the end but that doesn't mean they're gonna be better in terms of directional audio. Headphones like the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro are also too costly for the majority cause you'd need the headphones, a dac/amplifier and a seperate microphone if you'd need one, wich the majority won't pay for.
I still haven't found a perfect wireless gaming headset, I find that I can still sense the audio delay. I've tested the A50's, G Pro wireless & G533, Razer Kaira and Opus, Arctis 9x and a few others, all have had at least the smallest bit of latency. I've tried the various display delay methods but all are very inconsistent and enhance the mouse & keyboard/controller delay. Thanks for all your videos. Despite watching many, I haven't successfully identified the right combo of features for me, partly because I'm uncertain how easy it is to convert a 3.5mm connector (example from a SHP9500S+V-Moda combo) to USB. My headset is for ATC voice comms only in FS2020. Other sim sounds will pipe through desktop speakers via a typical analog connection. For USB connection, is a Schiit overkill for my voice comms, vs a simple 3.5mm-USB Amazon adapter? Appreciate your guidance. PRIORITIES: - Big head, tall ears, glasses headset not too clampy, swivel and light weight a bonus - No noise cancelling for ears, need to hear my desktops as secondary sound source - Wired - Open Back - Clear Mic - Connect via USB to PC (if through a 3.5mm adapter, which one?) - Budget $50-200 Based on all I've read, leaning towards: Cooler Master MH-752 (USB) or PC37X or Game One + USB adapter TBD or SHP9500S+V-Moda combo + USB adapter TBD
I've owned multiple wireless corsair headsets and every one has had battery issues, either losing its life incredibly quickly, or suddenly thinking its on low battery right out the box, or like yours, just not doing the advertised time. But god damn I need their microphone quality damnit
I like the feedback when the headsets are worn with glasses, but can you try it with thicker plastic frames as well? and in talking about getting a new pair, Ill have to wait for my HS50 non-pro (which was the first video I watched from you guys, and helped me deciding to get it) to break, however, I did got it replacement earpads from Misodiko, therefore extending its lifespan.
Hi Dimitry, thanks for the great video. You can really rely on the quality. I own the GSP602, how does it compare to the Epos H6 Pro? I would be happy if you write me a few lines about it.
If you like the HS80, I would suggest to RMA it, if your battery-life is really that low. My HS80 is running at least 12h+ on a full charge, which is less than my Arctis 7, but still "okay". The charging time however is very long...way over 3 hours, as the last few percents state of charge, the charging current goes down to 100mA (it charges at max ~500mA when the state of charge is below ~70%).
Corsair hs80 is so good battery time 19-20 hours turn off the rgb! and that mic is just crazy good gonna be hard using something else after this headset and yeah its wireless :D
Nah i LOOOOVE the PC38x - one of my favorite headsets designs because of comfort and audio. It's just they are fairly old (compared to all these more recent pairs). -D.
@@HardwareCanucks How do you stack the PC38x against the H6PRO? The 373d/37x were my favorite headsets and I'm looking to pick one of the newer successors.
Loved the video .. How about reviews on 7.1 ( Atmos ? suround sound etc ) head phones . Not really seen anyone reviewing them for game/movies . Games coming out with surround sound and the like features ,etc.
I have a pair of Sony PS4 Platinum w/3d audio & bluetooth. I've used them with my PS4, PS5 & PC...and my ipod :D ... I find they delivery very clear and clean sound, the 3d audio is actually really good on both systems, (PS5 headset audio is different from PS4), and with DTS on PC it's especially nice, watching movies, I dont use DTS for gaming. They can be loaded with custom profiles or presets and have some (not many) specific game manufacturers profiles. As for battery life, tbh I have never let them run down to find out, but I believe its 10 hours..dont quote me on that. The only bad thing I can say about them is the headband is a "rubber" type material and can be uncomfortable after a couple hours, I modified mine to have a nice soft foam cushion. Would be interested in a "console vs other" headset comparison.

Maybe you should rank your choices for us in an easier way or put some on-screen prompt. I don't really recall what are the top picks at the end of the day. Also would love to see a behind the scenes of how you shoot your videos.
PRIORITIES:
- Big head, tall ears, glasses
headset not too clampy, swivel and light weight a bonus
- No noise cancelling for ears, need to hear my desktops as secondary sound source
- Wired
- Open Back
- Clear Mic
- Connect via USB to PC (if through a 3.5mm adapter, which one?)
- Budget $50-200
Based on all I've read, leaning towards:
Cooler Master MH-752 (USB)
or
PC37X or Game One + USB adapter TBD
or
SHP9500S+V-Moda combo + USB adapter TBD
i would reccomend the redragon h350
In your opinion which is netter?
The epos h6 pro open version or the PC38X?
WTF. I also hammered my middle click and it is working now 😂😂
I've owned multiple wireless corsair headsets and every one has had battery issues, either losing its life incredibly quickly, or suddenly thinking its on low battery right out the box, or like yours, just not doing the advertised time. But god damn I need their microphone quality damnit
I love the Aston Martin BRG colour on the EPOS
I didn't know Chris Pratt was a pc gamer
You really should make a list of headset for every price tag.
Have you reviewed the top console headsets including the branded ones yet? Curious how they stack up.
Thank you Chris Pratt for another updated headset review of the month
@𝘿!𝙘𝙠 Riding ǤƗяℓ Luna lmao ikr
Nice vid. Would you go with the PC38X or the H6 Pro for an open back?
Perfect! I was just looking for a video covering the EPOS H6Pro 💪🏼
Setup looks 🔥🔥🔥.
What monitor is that?!
I bet those Corsair HS80 are lovely; I use my HS70 Pro as my daily and the microphone quality has always been top rate.
I have the same headset, they're great quality 👌
That HS80 sounds like a XLR Mic wow!
Hi Dimitry, thanks for the great video. You can really rely on the quality. I own the GSP602, how does it compare to the Epos H6 Pro? I would be happy if you write me a few lines about it.
My dog just ate my G335 so now i’m looking for a new headset but since i’m a teenager I probably won’t be having one for a while
Barracuda X against these?
im really surprised that not a single hyperx headset was mentioned here
I got the H6Pros, I dont NEED to know anything else ❤
I have rgb and voice commands turned off on my hs80s and the battery life is amazing never gets into red and just plug them in before work ever night
I have Krakens and this review makes me feel validated in my hate for them
Bro can you review the turtle beach recon 500?
Thank you for the reviews I have a Razor mic no longer working.
That thumbnail lol
Still happy with my Turtle Beach Altas Elites...still the best I've heard and the inline volume control is so useful...all for $89
I know that these days there are probably better options but you cannot go wrong with Astro a40s, been using them for 6 years
100%
If you like the HS80, I would suggest to RMA it, if your battery-life is really that low. My HS80 is running at least 12h+ on a full charge, which is less than my Arctis 7, but still "okay". The charging time however is very long...way over 3 hours, as the last few percents state of charge, the charging current goes down to 100mA (it charges at max ~500mA when the state of charge is below ~70%).
Corsair hs80 is so good battery time 19-20 hours turn off the rgb! and that mic is just crazy good gonna be hard using something
else after this headset and yeah its wireless :D
Lack of DROP + SENNHEISER PC38X GAMING HEADSET makes me sad :( I guess them being open back makes them VERY different
Nah i LOOOOVE the PC38x - one of my favorite headsets designs because of comfort and audio. It's just they are fairly old (compared to all these more recent pairs).
-D.
@@HardwareCanucks How do you stack the PC38x against the H6PRO? The 373d/37x were my favorite headsets and I'm looking to pick one of the newer successors.
g335 is on sale in Hong Kong, the price is hkd 299 (usd 38.5). seem like a good deal
Well since you mentioned it at the start of the video, please make a video about gaming headphones! Thank you
A headset review we deserve. Thanks Dimitry.
Loved the video .. How about reviews on 7.1 ( Atmos ? suround sound etc ) head phones . Not really seen anyone reviewing them for game/movies . Games coming out with surround sound and the like features ,etc.
How does the pc37x/pc38x compare to these?
Wondering what your take on the Corsair XT is.
As usual great video!
Yep, returned the Primes due to the crackling noise when adjusting.
Great review!
If you have the budget and don't want any compromise in terms os sound and mic quality I highly recommend the team tyger setup from beyerdynamic. Really good design, top comfort and top sound stage. Keep in mind the tyger 300r is open back tho.
I got an Arctis 1 wireless and it's pretty damn good. Been using it for 2 hours straight and batt level is still in green
How about coolermaster mh752 if you compare it with the other?
Yeah I changed to using proper headphones due to your recommendation.
Absolutely zero regrets.
the h6 pro my god I WANT ITTTT
H6 Pro is my go to headset.
People often overlook the build of a headset and just focus on the specs
What keyboard is on his desk? I like that color.
