Indeed there are, Larry. I've often said that there's beauty everywhere in this great nation if you're willing to look for it, even here in the Great Plains where we are right now. Sometimes you just have to look a little harder to find it.
Marc, you were right about saying there was more to the axle story. Unbelievable service from George and his daughter doing the 17 hour round trip plus fixing the issue! Although, you’d prefer not to have the issue needing their intervention, their service recovery is memorable! Oh yeah, Lake of the Ozarks was pretty cool too! Safe travels
Thank you Tim, and same to you! It was a postscript to our story that blew our mind. I reached out to George because I wanted to send him the follow-up service bill, which would've been far cheaper than his time to drive down to Missouri. But he wanted it done right and wanted to see firsthand what went wrong. When he texted back, "I'm on my way," we were flabbergasted. I give him an enormous amount of credit.
I can’t believe you came to the Lake! I’ve lived near there my entire life. I lived right on the channel for 6 years. You’re right, it’s HARD to find a place to really enjoy it if you don’t live there - and even if you do. Lake of the Ozarks is way too overgrown, overpopulated, and over-boated for my taste. I guess I got old, I loved it in my 20's and 30's. If you don’t have a boat that’s over 35’ in length, don’t even think about the main channel on the weekends. Still, if you have a big boat, the main part of the lake is fun with all the little restaurants and bars right on the water. There’s something kind of awesome about pulling up to a dock, hopping off and getting dinner in your swimsuit or shorts, right on the water. But, as you’ve shown, quite beautifully I might add, away from the main channel, the Lake still has a few quiet places. Consider yourself lucky to have been there when the coronavirus made things quieter. Ha Ha Tonka has some amazing trails and boardwalks. People tend to forget there’s more to Missouri than St. Louis and Kansas City - It really is a lovely place to live and visit!
Thank you so much! I'm sure it was wonderful when it was less populated, but it still is a beautiful area to visit. We enjoyed ourselves very much, you live in a terrific spot.
