  • I re-visit a ride I did over 2 years ago on Rouvy. This is the hardest climb in Scotland. It is now available on the Zwift climbing portal so I wanted to share it so you can see the real world location on Rouvy. This is me riding against my former time along with a lot of general rambling about cycling. Just a bunch of random thoughts smashed into one video. Please comment, like and subscribe if you can. I am close to hitting my first milestone of 100 Subscribers. Thank you for your support.

Thank you for producing these video rides, much appreciated. Nice ride, never done it in real life (doubt I ever will) but I have done it as a virtual ride on another platform. After I've finished the Vuelta '23 challenges I'll give this one a go. I'm up that neck of the woods later this month on holiday and if the weather's ok I might have a look over to Applecross.
One thing that made me smile was the shadow cast by the avatar, never noticed that before as I tend to ride with the camera perspective set to "me". Nice little detail that.

Dave, it is a great climb even if it's not IRL. Those pitches at 18%, yikes some tough going. If you get a chance to ride it from Applecross let me know, would love to hear about it. Yes the shadow of the avatar, it is really good, it does look real. Next best thing to real life!

Interesting video. I use FulGaz mainly but have used Rouvy, level 30 currently, and will rejoin over the winter months.

Thanks for your comment John. It is a really good, tough little climb. One of the first routes I did on Rouvy, mostly because I couldn't find these climbs on Zwift at the time. Great to be able to compete against your old records or even against virtual partners. Jump back in, Rouvy has only gotten better. Hope to see you around

I've ridden the Bealach three times. Twice E to W and once W to E, great ride. I won't be going back as there's too many cars on the route now days due to the NC500 pulling in loads of tourists :( Makes me want to sign up for Rouvy though !

Hi OldGit, thanks for commenting, awesome that you rode it in real like. I always wondered how bad the traffic would be right on the climb itself with the narrow roads and trying to find turn outs. I started riding these UK routes early on in my Rouvy career when I discovered the UK 100 Toughest climbs. A lot of them are on Rouvy: Cheddar Gorge, ButterTubs, The Bwlich, Rundlestone, so many more. If you want a sefe, controlled environment and tons of climbs, Rouvy is the place to be.
Oh and BTW you have a pretty awesome UA-cam Channel, so many cool interests. Hope everyone can check on your channel

I was there last April. Next to no traffic.
If you do it outwith summer months it should be fine. Northwest Scotland is best before mid May (before the midges hit)
