DISCUSSION & E-Mails HERE in case of video removal: forums.flightsimulator.com/t/king-air-350i-extreme-review-by-perfect-flight-discussion/306601/2 NOTE: IF YOU PURCHASED THIS FROM THESE RETAILERS: SimMarket / Flightsim.com / PC Aviator / Simulshop, please start the return process by contacing them. If you have any resistance or trouble getting your full refund (not credit), please contact me in the flighsimulator forums (link above) and I will chase them for you. I have varying promises from these vendors and a forthcoming review that your experience with them will guide. If you did receive a return for instance (a number of you said that flightsim.com gave you a return immediately) let me know also so that I can point out those retailers who are being fair. I started this channel as something to do during COVID, but after spending the last few hours for the second time second guessing whether or not to release this video, you guys have removed all doubt. Thanks for the support!
@@jfelipe1987 flightsim.com refunded me without hassle based on their policy of the description not being accurate. Simmarket refunded me with hassle stating that they would only refund me if the developer authorized it. At this point the developer had caught on to my review and me as simmarket had forwarded him my notices to remove the copyrighted material so simmarket failed IMO as they would have not refunded me if the dev said no. Simulshop has not responded (I believe the developer owns that store) and in turn have not yet issued a refund. I have sent PC Aviator a take down notice and they have not responded.
Can we please get a slow clap going? My word man well done, well done, well done. You exposed truly deceitful business practices but this is truly horrific and disgusting beyond all words. I also agree that this should be a test to see how the retailers handle this is going to be incredibly important for how people will view them and do business with them in the future. You have actually given them a wonderful opportunity here to capitalise on a mistake they have made, that being they sell shit they themselves can't or don't want to test. It's just like you have pointed out... there is thus far very, very few developers or individuals that take what they make really seriously.
Thanks Conf.D, always appreciate the kind words. I just mentioned it to another poster, but its the supportive comments that help more than you think. Had serious reservations about posting this one as I might piss off a few vendors. Said eff it right as I clicked post on UA-cam but had reservations. Its the positive and supportive comments that follow which get you standing straight again. Spent years listening to UA-cam channels sincerely thanking their viewers. I can honestly say I get it.
@@NOTAM1 if you stand a chance of pissing someone off then you are probably on the right track hehe people never get pissed off or defensive if there is no truth in something. They would simply shrug and blow it off but this is not one you can sweep under the couch.
Let's be honest, this happens because civ sims are a goldmine for dishonest developers since there's a majority of players that will buy ANYTHING. People will justify everything. It's not just the newbies, people actually justified OrbX London,or the "weather addons" that are literally just presets.
@@Z28-h2y I think if your big on heavies thats an easier choice. I'm mostly Military (DCS) and GA Aircraft now MSFS. Hard to go back to X-plane for GA's. I do understand the heavy pilots rather being there though.
... top work Notam ... you are really giving our community first class reviews and sticking your neck out or at least your wallet out there to do so ... thank you👍
@@kendalley2314 simmarket just confirmed by email that this product DOES contain an aircraft which is why he listed it in the forum. Devloper by email confirmed its only liveries. They can't agree. Already contacted Asobo to get a hold of legal department.
@@NOTAM1 ... I’m disappointed in Simmarket ... a well established supplier of fs software ... they need to up their game, own their responsibilities and provide a service to a community which is based on integrity and takes account of the passion and intelligence of most of its members! Thank you again for fighting our corner ... respect!
@@kendalley2314 Thanks Ken. Admittingly, I didn't even want to post the simmarket thread as that's where I buy my stuff. That said, at the end of the day, I'll let the viewer decide and let the cards fall. I'm disappointed in them so far. I would have been very concerned if it was my business.
Great stuff as always. Reading the email exchange back and forth with simmarket makes my blood boil. I was going to buy the mb339 from them but after reading that I am boycotting them. From now on I am Only buying add ons after reading a review from someone I trust (like NOTAM)!
Thanks so much Tim... appreciate the support. Honestly I almost didn't release this one again, but as soon as I did and the comments are full of support, all my reservations disappear. Glad I followed through. I may have said f#$k it right before pressing save on UA-cam.
Yeah I stopped buying from simmarket years ago. And after what happened with FSPilotship.com(where I lost $200 in refund credit that I never used) I made the choice to only buy from first party vendors. Which is why I want the MB339 but since IFE is only selling through 3rd party vendors I am going to wait until it either comes to the MP or they offer it for purchase directly. I only buy A2A planes from A2A now, and I got back ups of all my CerraSim helicopters so I never have to go back to simmarket again.
@@johnnyboythepilot4098 It went the way of the dodo. The folded up shop about 2 years ago and left a lot of people stranded without access to their purchases. Some developers like A2A and a few others, would provide a direct link in their own stores, but I am out about $1000 dollars worth of software that I have purchased from there since about 2002, on top of that they not only billed me for a product they did not have in stock(Saitek TPM) but when I called them out on it after it was clear that stock was most likely never coming back they said, all they could do was give it to me in credit, $200 worth. Fast forward to two years ago when Honeycomb Aeronautical started talking about the Alpha and the Beta and I started to talk to the FSPilotShop.com guys again about the possibility of using my credit towards one or both of them. A few days later, ALL the expired links in my account were refreshed without having to pay a dime, and then about one month later, the site just went offline and never came back. Not a word from ANYONE there. Word is they weren't able to renew their Certificate after rebuilding the site. They said they were going to try and get it back up as soon as they could but, alas, there was not another word from them and the domain name is again available.
NOTAM, please add me to the chorus of voices applauding you for your work. I’ve been impressed with the depth and insights of your reviews before, but revealing this scam really raised the bar. Your are doing EXACTLY what a great reviewer of anything should do, and because of this you are saving your viewers from wasting money and time. I think it’s also worth noting that your reviews can convince viewers that a product is worth their money - I had no interest in the Aermacchi MB-339 until I saw your review. I bought it, and i’ve had a blast flying it through the canyons of Utah.
Thank you so much Leon, that's very kind. More importantly I'm glad you are enjoying the MB-339. I'm always concerned when being critical that I'm being too much so and in turn when posting the MB-339 before posting was wondering if I should have been more critical. I'm starting to feel the pressure of not getting anything wrong for the viewers while still providing a timely review after release. Tough balance.
@@NOTAM1 If its good, its good. NEVER feel pressure to find "something" wrong if there is not anything...with a big caveat "worth mentioning". Discretion with that will always be relative to the package in question, and I've noticed that, if anything, you seem remorseful if you really can't find anything even minutely wrong with a plane, and feel the need to at least mention the little things you did find. This is good, to at least try to "balance" the review and make sure if those "little things" happen to be a big deal for some, you've notified them of it and they can make an informed buying decision. Its ok to like a plane as a reviewer, and still appear neutral to simmers if they've come to respect your opinion over time, which I feel you've done fantastically so far! Five hours to get a plane started from cold-n-dark, stating it in a review as fact, then showing any inkling that you are not pleased, while taking the time to review the product again after patches, shows me a lot more than a "reviewer" who raves about the accuracy of the flight model, and he's a stickler for detail, while the whole time in the background doesn't even notice (or mention) that the altimeter, right in his instrument scan, is completely inoperative! I'll trust your review anytime over his. ;)
@@stevedra1 lol, thanks steve. For the most part the community is awesome, but you always get that one guy who's like... You like this aircraft? You didn't mention in your review that when I fly inverted over Katmandu the transponder stops working.
Hey, I just caught up with this channel a few days ago and already getting presented with quality public service! =) Great work, Dave! Your reviews will be a "must watch" for my future purchases. Keep at it, mate! :)
although you may not be able to eternally review and purchase all released aircraft , i feel your work right now and at this moment in this Sims development is essential and we are lucky that we have someone like you looking out and bringing all this to attention. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the Community.
Thanks Sekuru, Really appreciate the kind words. I'd love to review every aircraft for this sim, but clearly as they start getting released faster and in more volume I won't be able to keep up. I also have little knowledge outside GA or military aircraft. The airliners or heavies completely allude me.
glad you reviewed this for us, It's literally just a bunch of liveries and apparently no updated cockpit. I was hoping for a high fidelity mod similiar to the flybywire mod for the a320.
I’m eager to pick up study level aircraft as soon as it’s available. I won’t purchase until I hear feedback from reviews like this one. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
You're awesome! You basically took one for the team! It's important to highlight this type of deceitful behavior in the community to ensure we get good quality add ons. Great job!
Thanks Seweryn, yup, simmarket has taken it down. 1 down 3 to go. I've sent requests for removal on behalf of the community and its new users to all the e-tailers.
@@gordon861 Working on it. Asobo kept bouncing me around to different departments and I have finally ended up at the Microsoft Business department who are not back to work until Monday.
Good looking out brother. When something as complex as a King Air comes out for this new of a sim that quickly it should raise a few eyebrows. You just gained yourself a new sub!
Thanks Leese, I was blown away by the audacity of this developer. I kept second guessing myself. Who would do this? I kept thinking. Incredible... thanks for the support.
Just found your channel a few days ago and love your content. Thank you for the honest reviews. You're supporting the good products and exposing the bad ones. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more of this type of content throughout the community!
Wow! Thanks Dave, I’ve been liking your videos and this one through me as I purchased this addon a few days ago and worse still, I can’t even get it to run. The thumbnails in the plane selector are blank. When I select one the title shows I have selected it but the thumbnail in the left top corner then still shows my previous aircraft. When I go into the hanger any of the liveries show as a x-ray monotone view at best. I contacted the dev and they did get back to me suggesting that I re-download. Which I did. Still the same. I’ve been back in touch with the developer but now no further response. So your review is spot on. This is blatant fraud. I purchased from Simmarket, so I will get in touch with them for a response. After I looked at the documentation I realised the developer was someone that I had purchased from many years ago in FSX and whilst their prices were modest, I decided very quickly that I wouldn’t buy again as their quality was so low. If I had of recognised their brand I certainly would have given them a miss now.
Thanks for publishing this and taking the time to consider the ethics of all of this! You provide a great service when you provide information that prevents us from making a purchase.
Thank you so much for doing this. These sorts of developers have to be called out and weeded out. The Asobo and Microsoft lawyers need to do better work and explore these sites for crap like this. And yes PLEASE let us know how the refunds go and with which retailers: the "no refund" policy they all have MUST be excepted in cases of deception and cheating as here, otherwise, a class action lawsuit could be brought against each of them.
I knew there was good reason I joined this channel, thank you for this Dave. Your compassion and understanding makes me think that you should do a follow up, you know like 60 minutes, a talk with the developer not to shame them but to hear their side of the story 😐
Thanks William, your guys kind words and support make it pretty easy to stand up. Serious reservations this morning when posting have been replaced with an amazing feeling of pride in this community. I realize its just a sim, but its amazing what a community can do together. In the process of getting 4 etailers to delist this and make a statement in regards to it at the moment.
The internet needs more honest reviewers such as yourself. Please keep up the great work and that was some top level investigative journalism you pulled there. Thank you for the warning. o7
Wow! Although I haven't yet purchased MSFS2020 your video exposes what could potentially be serious copyright infringement and yes, it is the responsibility of the retailers to know what it is they are actually selling. I was an Alpha tester for MSFS2020 and I'll be waiting at least 12 months until MS have sorted the major issues which were present only weeks before release.
Thank you, the reviews you do for community help us a lot in making a purchase decision. One thing that is becoming common with the new FS 2020 is that companies simply launch the same product that they had on FS X for a higher price. But this one really stood out.
Thanks for this review and the amount of homework you have done. To many developers out there trying to make a quick buck. I decided not to spend any money on FS2020 addon's until the dust has settled.
BTW, looking at their other products, I think they're just outright deceitful all around. Looking at FS Approaches - Italy for example. First, they're selling 300+ navigation charts. Wonder who really owns those charts and if they're able to legally be sold? Second, it states "Product also includes a complete set of planes", which are again just liveries for default planes. The product is literally just approaches? What the hell, anybody can create those in-game without an additional product.
Thanks spencer. yup, these guys are scum. BTW, the approach charts they are selling are line drawings from what looks like a screen capture of a g1000 or something in a sim. Its hard to explain, but basically 1 line and an ILS freq. Wish I was kidding.
Thank you for this review! We all need to make sure we do our homework before buying any addons. It’s a shame people take advantage of this and make all the other developers looks bad. Please keep up the great work! Love videos like this.
The takeaway: 1. Before purchasing, always search for what other reviewers like *NOTAM* and other users have said about the product. One's mileage may vary of course, but other peoples' experiences may help you filter out cr@appy "products". 2. Steer clear of FS2000, plain and simple. 3. Depending on how this goes with the online stores that sell this "product", steer clear of them as well.
Thanks for doing the detective work. There are a lot of us out there who have rekindled interest in flight simulators and are hungry for quality addons, but aren't familiar with the addon market.
Thanks Josef. Its exactly why I posted it. I was actually planning to hold off for a few days and see how the e-tailers responded before the storm, but a post I saw of a kid obviously new to simming begging the developer to refund made me post this immediately.
Thanks for the 'heads up'. You have spent a lot of your time to 'warn' prospective buyers. Makes me concerned about buying any 3rd party aircraft although it is quite cheap and as such maybe we shouldn't expect too much.
@@NOTAM1 Disappointing how the shops handling it right now.... I never bought anything at Simulshop but I do at simmarket, I hope they change their tune pretty quickly as this is a wording scam....
@@deadraque just updated the thread. Simmarket has refunded me and removed the aircraft from the site. I'm not at all happy with the outcome. They think its about the $25, but I take offence to their stance that the developer needed to approve this refund (which he did). Although in this instance I was refunded, what are the chances that a developer who is stealing and cheating is likely to give a refund and how easy would have this been for the average consumer or kid for that matter?
@@NOTAM1 I am glad you got your money back and good to know about the bad handling of them. That's why videos like these are soooo important! I never pre-order or buy at release, I always wait. I did same with that REX weather system wanted to buy it found a few days later a good review that proved it was a mess and far from good, I spared 18 € as now the Free Unreal Weather mod came out doing a pretty good job and it's free!
I already loved your thorough and honest reviews, but this is definitely going above and beyond! Thank you for your efforts! PS will you be reviewing the Jabiru that was just released?
Thanks for the video. I think a lot of these third party developers are in a little bit of a panic mode and are flooding the market with add-ons as fast as they can hoping to make some sales. FS2020 is so well done there's not much of a need for add-ons anymore. Sure there are areas that can be slightly improved with an add-on. But as Asobo continues to update with improvements the need for add-ons will become less and less. I've been doing this for a long time. Started in the subLOGIC days and with out a doubt this is one amazing piece of software. Old flight simmers like myself have been waiting for this a very long time.
Same boat here. FS2 and FS3 (former on 5.25" and an 8086 if I remember correctly) actually helped me understand NDB's and instruments for my rating. You'll find few complaints from me on what we've received in MSFS 2020.
You did a very thorough investigation. Thanks for that. Things like this are likely to happen sind’s the Sim has only limited stock airplanes and people are looking for a more real life flight experience. Compliments, please continue.
Wow, I can't believe they distributed the Asobo aircraft. I started watching your review the day you posted it and thought "definitely a misleading product" and finished it today with the opinion "this has to be illegal."
They need to close the gate on this kind of non-sense fast . I hope the work you are doing informs the new people in the community about this garbage. You are doing a good thing . I hope we get to see more awesome and quality content soon.
Great work Dave, You sir are a star. I hope this stops others from wasting their hard earned cash and I also hope you do get your refunds. The community is truly lucky to have people like you.
This is an excellent insight to the negative aspects of our hobby. Flight simulation is not cheap when considering the base software and the necessary hardware. Serious simmers are prepared to pay more for good quality components for the a better and more rewarding experience. In other words we don’t mind paying for genuine quality kit that our budget will allow. However, scams or misrepresentation should br discouraged by all and named and shamed. The industry must come up with a consumer code of conduct and or an accredited kite mark for quality and customer care or a similar protocol.
Thanks Rocky, I agree. Been giving it some though lately along with other community members. You want to allow a community to grow untethered by restrictions like DCS has (no sdk unless approved by Eagle Dynamics, and only a handful of people are approved) but on the other hand you don't want developers like this ripping off newer members or any members. Tough balance. For now we'll just try to shine a light on them.
Takin bullets for us left and right, David. Thanks so much for your efforts. This looks like really shifty stuff and I hope you are compensated for your "investment".
@NOTAM Thanks for this video! This is the opportunity for the e-retailors to elevate their game to check the content they sell, perhaps to stamp a seal of approval. If they don't have the resources or time to do it, here we are! as a community, this is a step in the correct direction. FlightSim Quality assurance group!
Really well done for exposing this shameful product. I really appreciate your ongoing reviews, and the service that you are offering through providing real objectivity and honesty with a balanced opinion. I have used your reviews prior to any purchases I have made thus far, and had I not, its really clear that I would have wasted my money in such cases as this. Every product that you have recommended, that I subsequently purchased, have been great fun and your opinion of them has been spot on! Thank you, and keep up the good work :-)
Awesome, thanks Andy. Appreciate the kinds words. I'm always a little worried when releasing a review that I missed something important or was too harsh on something or not harsh enough. The more people that appreciate my reviews, the more pressure I feel to get them right. I'm really glad to hear you've enjoyed the recommendations. That means a lot.
@@NOTAM1 woooooowwwww!!😳 I sure don’t know anything about your financial situation or availability but keep in mind there will eventually be hundreds of addon aircraft available?!
@@e36s50b30 well, one thing is for sure, I definitely won't be buying 3 copies of all of them. I now have to go explain to my wife how I got ripped off..... 3 times. lol. Eventually, I will just have a time constraint with this many aircraft.
Wow, great work getting the word out. Only recently stumbled on your channel and instantly subscribed. Only started because of COVID? Well some good can come of that then! Keep the content coming.
Thank you, this sort of info is vital.. FS2020 has bought into this kinda sim alot of new blood to flight sims and its 3rd party markets.. I've owned many but haven't put alot of time into and nothing into after market add ons. Now with 2020 version being so good I personally love it and want 3rd addons city's airports planes etc but sorting through the rubbish is hard.. i was immediately put off after seeing the first release of the London city by orbx was crap ( fixed since I believe )
NP... interesting conversation with the wife.... (wife: so explain again how you got ripped off three times? me:... you see, its very tricky wording, lol)
When I saw this product on Simmarket I actually thought it was just a missions & livery pack. But I can see with the wording why you could assume it is a new aircraft.
I personally didn't get duped. I bought it for the hundreds of people who did. Many complaints among facebook and forum users. On top of this 3 website owners assumed this was a full aircraft, 1 of them actually looking into it, finding the aircraft in the package and confirming to me it was an aircraft and not categorized wrong in his store. This was clearly by mistake or by deceit a problem IMO.
Why doesn't this surprise me lol. 🤣 This has happened on numerous occasions throughout the years. I can't remember on which aircraft, but the original developer (in this case Asobo) was able to identify it was their copyrighted material, as the code was identical enough to put in a claim. There is an issue they all ran into though, and that is the cost of taking the plagiarisers to court, and the distance between said companies. As flight simming is a world wide online business, it can be extremely difficult to navigate the different laws in different countries, and also to get everyone in the same room. To the point where some developers have actually just said, sod it, there is no point in claiming copyright. And that is the rub. Some developers - the shady ones, will push the boundaries and hope to get away with it. I comment on a lot of your videos, as what you expose has ground my gears for a long time. I feel especially passionate about the flight sim community as its my hobby, and it is also rife with shady practices. You and I are on the same page in this regard, and you should never sit on the fence when exposing this. Even if you are wrong, you have the chance to say so, and set the record straight. At the moment though you have a 100% record 😁👍 As for getting your money back, you have zero chance of getting a penny from SimMarket. Not sure about the others. What will more than likely happen is the 3rd party developer is forced to tell everyone its just a skin pack in its literature. That is probably the best we can hope for.
EDIT: Just read your post in the forums, and you did get a refund from SimMarket, but only because the 3rd party developer authorised it. The 3rd party developer must know Sim markets No Refund policy, so as to authorise it leads to some form of guilt on their side? Why would they want you kicking up a stink? Just action the refund. 😁
Hey Chris, thanks for the comment. I agree... I also see that most could never navigate the legal maze involved in multijurisdictional lawsuits, but if there is one company I wouldn't want to test this with, it would be Microsoft. They head up the anti-piracy software copyright (multiple divisions and associations) worldwide and even have china using their army to enforce things in China. Asobo directed me to MS Business department at this point. If I was going to rip off someone's work, it definitely wouldn't be theirs.
Subscribed. Now I know where to look first when a new payware aircraft is released. Sticking to only long going and serious developers like A2A, pmdg etc. Not worth taking chances on being scammed by these new and unknown developers.
Thanks Sim. Can't wait for A2A or PMDG to give us some study level stuff also. Believe it or not fs2000 (this developers older name) has been around forever (more than 20 years) and made their own models in the fs2000 days. They are nothing but scamware now. sad.
My 2 cents: anyone can charge whatever they want for their products. Costumers should decide if they buy or not. So my point is: Does it worth to pay 15 Euros for a bunch of liveries and missions? Personally I would not buy it. If they sell it including, at least, some changes and tuning on the flight model to correct what is clearly unpolished on Asobo’s default King Air then I would think twice. On a side note I have checked Simulshop website (EShop linked from Developers page) and they mention this is Asobo’s in the description: “King Air 350 eXtreme offers you an exaustive and realistic simulation experience adding beautiful liveries at the default Asobo King Air 350i - liveries are taken from real world - and a set of Discovery Flights “CUBA ESCAPE”, added in the ACTIVITIES/BUSH TRIP category and available directly in Microsoft Flight Simulator.” I don’t know when they added that but it seems fair enough. Anyway, I agree on overall picture that this product is not worth as it does not bring much.
Hey Henrique. First of all, the developer has recently changed that description so this isn't an accurate reflection of what he was saying when this video was made. Secondly, can a developer steal copyrighted material and include it as his own? What about stealing liveries from the community? If this is just liveries, is it fair for him to pretend this is a full aircraft, and include the default aircraft in his package and install it as a separate aircraft? This has nothing to do with what a developer is charging for liveries and everything to do with fraud and deceit.
It’s hard to believe that they’re using Microsoft copyrighted material in their own product. Perfect Flight is around for very long time. But hey, I’m not defending them by any means. I’m thinking here if Asobo would have granted distribution rights for their files so they could be included in Perfect Flight’s product. You’re alert is appropriate. It is a misleading advertisement at least.
@@HJCoelho I found it just as hard to believe. It was not only investigated diligently but confirmed by the developer. Asobo gave no distribution rights. This was distributed illegally.
Congrats on a job well done. I wonder if Microsoft can come up with an accreditation process for 3d party developers so their clients can have some assurance they are not being duped.
Thanks Z06, I've been thinking about it, but it takes a LOT more time to do an exhaustive DCS review. I have all the modules except the helicopters, but I'm only really familiar with the 2 wwii birds and the f/18 and warthog. The others I'm only as proficient as I would be in any aircraft. Definitely on my radar, but harder to approach.
@@NOTAM1 I do appreciate and definitely understand the time restraints. In DCS, I too have most and the Huey. F-18, and F-16 and the FC3 stuff pretty good at. 14 still working on and the A-10 is so time intensive on the learning. Ive kinda put that on the back burners now, just purchased Navigraph thanks to you well no really was on the fence due to approach charts over world. . @@z0688 Thanks Z06 I've been staring at the Huey for a heli purchase but I don't have a collective setup. I actually have one heli, the Ka-50 and throttle works ok, but nothing like the Huey to bring back the "tour of duty" episodes I'd watch with my dad. Please fire me that discord, would love to jump in. Actually I though of an idea regarding DCS reviews where you can have a smaller group of DCS guys sort of co-write the review together and I can piece and edit their thoughts into something cohesive. Sort of hash it out first offline. Could name the review group something so that is recognized as being reviewed by that group instead of me or an individual etc... just a thought as I want to add some DCS content but compared to MSFS is so much more time consuming.
Wow I just purchased this yesterday before getting a change to view the video! Upon installation I was confused as to why they provided a G1000 manual and also realized some of the liveries in this payware addon are available for free from the community. My question is has this addon altered in any way the default ASOBO King Air files? If I delete it will this affect the default King Air in any way ?? Thank You David for posting this and I will be sure to be more careful on where I spend my money for addons.
Request a refund from the etailer. If you'd like my help with this, they are very receptive to my requests at the moment and I have just received my second refund now from both simmarket and flightsim. If you'd like a push from my side I'd be more than happy to help. Start the process on your end and if you meet any resistance, let me know in the flightsimulator.com forums as seen in the link in the first post/description.
Looks suspicious to me. Thanks for this video. I do not yet own MSFS, but this gives me a heads up for when I do become involved in the new sim. Good to know, and thanks again for the info.
Whoever is behind Perfect Flight is doing this for some time now (FSX/FS2004). As I always check addons carefully before buying, I realized that description and pictures were always vague and showed freeware level stuff and things that I could get from free sources, but for a steep price. You have to read the text without projection of your imagination what this could be. It is all noncommittal and vague. Prices of 22 Euro or more are a warning sign.
Thank you for helping someone like me who is new to the sim community. I do have a question. In a lot of the sim stores there are tons of scenery already made for msfs. I’m almost afraid to buy any because imo it’s just too many too soon. Do you or anyone else have recommendations on what to buy. I have used your reviews to make purchase choices so thank u for those.
Thanks Anthony. One thing I've found is that the more information they provide (look at all the big sceneries) the better the scenery actually is. Think of it as them being proud of their product because they know how good it is. Some will list 50 items or more like pbr textures, high resolution ground etc... On crappy sceneries they almost always talk about everything except their scenery like, this is located in a beautiful region with lots of sites to see etc... This usually means garbage. This rule doesn't always apply, but has been a very accurate indicator for me so far.

I started this channel as something to do during COVID, but after spending the last few hours for the second time second guessing whether or not to release this video, you guys have removed all doubt. Thanks for the support!
Hi NOTAM, the link does not seem to be working? Great video and another sad example of a 'developer'.

@@duijzings1980 looks like the ms forums are down.
@@NOTAM1 so any refunds yet?
@@jfelipe1987 flightsim.com refunded me without hassle based on their policy of the description not being accurate. Simmarket refunded me with hassle stating that they would only refund me if the developer authorized it. At this point the developer had caught on to my review and me as simmarket had forwarded him my notices to remove the copyrighted material so simmarket failed IMO as they would have not refunded me if the dev said no. Simulshop has not responded (I believe the developer owns that store) and in turn have not yet issued a refund. I have sent PC Aviator a take down notice and they have not responded.
you’re a legend for doing this and i’m very interested in seeing how the story unfolds from here. i had a gut feeling that something was up with this.
I appreciate that goal, definitely going to be interesting to watch play out.
MSFS it’s the new paradise. Lots of newbies with hot wallet. You are doing a great job...
Let's be honest, this happens because civ sims are a goldmine for dishonest developers since there's a majority of players that will buy ANYTHING. People will justify everything. It's not just the newbies, people actually justified OrbX London,or the "weather addons" that are literally just presets.

Thanks for putting in the time to reveal this as a scam, or at the very least, dishonest behaviour. Keep up the good work; it's really appreciated!
Thanks, will do!
@@ImpendingJoker Can't wait for an Accu-Sim from A2A
@@ImpendingJoker Whatever happened to FSPilotShop anyways?
I'll trust your review anytime over his. ;)

Thanks Sekuru, Really appreciate the kind words. I'd love to review every aircraft for this sim, but clearly as they start getting released faster and in more volume I won't be able to keep up. I also have little knowledge outside GA or military aircraft. The airliners or heavies completely allude me.

Let me know how it turns out on simmarket with your return. Would like to consider your experience when forming my opinion in a review about them.
Thanks for publishing this and taking the time to consider the ethics of all of this! You provide a great service when you provide information that prevents us from making a purchase.
Thanks Dave, appreciate the kind words. I try my best.

I agree. These e-tailers want to wash their hands of responsibility, but worse, even their customers.
Thank you, the reviews you do for community help us a lot in making a purchase decision.
One thing that is becoming common with the new FS 2020 is that companies simply launch the same product that they had on FS X for a higher price.
But this one really stood out.
Thanks VultUx, yeah this one really takes the cake.
Thanks for this review and the amount of homework you have done. To many developers out there trying to make a quick buck. I decided not to spend any money on FS2020 addon's until the dust has settled.
Thanks Johan, Good decision I think.
Well done. I saw this pop up on Sim Market the other day. They definitely have it listed in the Aircraft category. Very deceiving indeed.
I found your channel just some days ago and i must say: Great work man !! Your videos, espacially reviews like this, are totally good !

The takeaway:
1.
Exactly... Especially 2 lol.

@@deadraque just updated the thread. Simmarket has refunded me and removed the aircraft from the site. I'm not at all happy with the outcome. They think its about the $25, but I take offence to their stance that the developer needed to approve this refund (which he did).

For now we'll just try to shine a light on them.

lol, thanks Al, great laugh here.
At the moment though you have a 100% record 😁👍
As for getting your money back, you have zero chance of getting a penny from SimMarket.
Once again, a very thorough video. Thanks Dave.
Thanks Bill.
I bet the one thumb down (so far) is from the "developer". Thank you for your review.
lol, you're the first to point it out... I didn't notice, that's too funny and probably true. He's probably really making an impact here, lol.
Congrats on a job well done. I wonder if Microsoft can come up with an accreditation process for 3d party developers so their clients can have some assurance they are not being duped.
Fingers crossed, I'm also hoping there is a strict vetting process for both vendor and addon.
Waiting for Milviz to release the 350i for MSFS.
Awesome. Thanks again. Please do DCS reviews. Very factual. Thanks
Ive kinda put that on the back burners now, just purchased Navigraph thanks to you well no really was on the fence due to approach charts over world. . My wallet is not so happy lol, maybe should stop watching your reviews. (Costing me money LOL). There is a Discord channel with some older dudes just doing DCS. If interested I can send link. Take Care... Kudos again on the great work.
@@z0688 forgot to mention, I think my channel about page has my email, fire me the discord if you can.
@@NOTAM1 Email sent. Getting things set up/started.
Good lad! Your reviews save me quite a bit of money (Of which I don't have a great deal lol)
Looks like Simmarket have took it off the site.
Thanks MorrisseysMonkey, I'm glad to hear that, glad you are enjoying.
yup, they were the first, flightsim to follow, pc aviator or simulshop haven't responded to me yet but we're making headway.
Good job getting to the bottom of this. Eye opening. Thanks,
Wow I just purchased this yesterday before getting a change to view the video!
Just delete the p2k.... or whatever the name of the folder is in the community folder. This will not effect your default king air. Hope that helps.
@@NOTAM1 Many Thanks ! Got a store credit from simMarket right away.
Looks suspicious to me. Thanks for this video. I do not yet own MSFS, but this gives me a heads up for when I do become involved in the new sim. Good to know, and thanks again for the info.
Your welcome Owen.
I agree. The problem is e-tailers are selling this as an aircraft and half of them when emailed confirmed this is an actual aircraft.
Great review, keep up the good work buddy and big thanks.
Thanks Denis, much appreciated.
I love your passion for this game.. you should try making your own livery and tell me about ittt!!!
Not a bad Idea.. thanks Detective. Maybe I'll do a NOTAM livery.
Perfect Flight have been doing this for years in P3D/FSX
Yep, I have always avoided them, as every review I have seen of their add-ons has found them to be "not perfect".
This is next level for even them.
The way you know... the default king air-fuel gauges say "fuel capacitity"... and so does this one!
lol.
Awesome find!! Thank you for doing your homework so that no one buys this.
Happy to help!
Please keep us posted for further information from retailers
Working on an update video about my experience with the e-tailers.
I subscribed to your channel because of THIS video.
Keep up the good work NOTAM
