Which new VR headset is on your wishlist? Let me know in the comments below 👇👇👇
Play For Dream, its the Apple Vision Pro killer.
Pimax Crystal Super for me, a big upgrade from my old faithful Reverb G2.
Somnium VR-1 XR edition, ordered and waiting on shipment.
Q3 with a Bobo strap. Not rich enough anymore for the top HMDs, but I think I'll be happy.
Thanks, always enjoy your perspective. As much as it makes financial sense for me to add a Q3 (to my beloved Varjo Aero) for the times I want to create a "mask" to see my hands on my physical MFDs, KB, and ICP I think I will be buying a Somnium VR1 Ultimate at years end.. 👍
In videos where going through lots of products such as in this case, it's always very nice when the clip has been divided in chapters. So you quickly can go to the product(s) you're interested in.
Maybe time-consuming on your side and then I understand if you don't have that time but if it's easy, that would be great to see in similar upcoming clips 🙂
I will still use my trusty G2 for awhile longer, (Be the last one on your channel probably, LOL!!!!) Waiting to see what 50 series GPU performance brings, THEN decide what new VR to mate it with. Frankly, no reason to change with a 3080Ti. As always, thanks for the reviews!
flight simmer here: got a pimax chrystal and couldnt get it to run (on a 3080ti rig). bugs and problems abound. horrible tech support and bad experience getting it refunded. went the quest 3 route after. setup with wired connection. plug and play. very pleased and half price of the pimax.
I have Crystal original and q3. q3 is good vr but in dcs or fs2024 it is trash. Because it don't support DP
I did the same thing except on a 4090. How bad must Pimax be to make Meta a viable option?? SUPER BAD. Pimax is the worst of the CCP Communist companies.
@@asapdo7349 yup I have both Crystal OG and Quest 3 and the Quest is not comparable. the Quest 3 is a better all round headset but for SIMs nope
It really sucks that the reverb g2 will soon not be supported any more. It’s an absolutely great vr headset and my favourite of the quest 2, pimax 8k and oculus cv1.
To be honest I’m going to keep going with it as long as I can because I really have no need to upgrade if I don’t have to. It has all the clarity I could ever need and has done me thousands of great hours in flight sims and sim racing.
Huge mistake for them to be cutting the support for it in my opinion.
Real shame.
This week I'm receiving the PCL... Today I finally got the tracking number. Let's hope I get a "healthy" one. I must mention that I received a wonderful customer service by Pimax during the "waiting process" with very friendly replies from Emily and the support team.
Thats really great to hear. Keep us updated when you get your new Crystal Light.
I hope you get some goodluck. My got overheating problems and they are sending a newone.
My crystal light is now also on its way to me.👍
Close to 3 months after pre order and i hope it will be a good one....fingers cross.
I received mine 2 weeks ago cust SVC was great. I couldn't be more excited unfortunately I just mailed it back and I'm sticking with quest 3. I really wanted it to work . I had a lot of tracking issues so couldn't join a race and couldn't be tried of the blurriness. Xors are ok but q3 was a better experience.to me.
@@mikelvn5410 ya. Took me 2 weeks to work away the blur. Just dont let the gpu get above 6.2 ms and cpu 4.5ms. Rendering. Im now also back 2 quest 3. But the decoding artifacts are killing it.
I got my Pico 4, slightly used, for 250$. Can't beat that :D especially now that they ported Batman etc.
I'm still holding out hope Valve releases a headset this year, but it's getting harder to wait.
Same, I'm either waiting for Pimax Crystal Super, or a Valve option if leaks come out
My Crystal Light came with Warped lenses. It's been a nightmare dealing with the Pimax support. I would highly recommend staying away from them until they fix the issues.
I got the Pico 4 for only 265 USD equivalent 3 months ago and this is the main PCVR over my Quest and I love it for sim racing and flight games
I love my PIMAX Crystal and I thought many of your comments on the headsets you looked at were spot on. I own a Quest 3 and would agree for all around VR and cost it's amazing but I don't use it for Sims at all. I am looking forward to the Crystal Super but I know it will be some time before we see it. I sure hope they give you UA-cam reviewers an early peak at it
Cheers buddy
Me too. I have Crystal and q3. Q3 is lighter than Crystal. But I also don't use q3 in DCS. Q3 Streaming is sucks
Great video 👍 thank you! Your effort is appreciated
Thank you it means a lot!
Hi, thanks for all your videos, they have been very helpful in deciding to buy my Reverb G2 a while ago and also having just got my hands on a Pico 4 and Virtual Desktop App.
One thing I would take issue with though is the idea that Godlike settings need a 4090. I only have a 4060ti (until a AMD 6900XT arrives in the next couple of days) and went from HD to Ultra and still getting reasonable frames so tried Godlike and got a very good image and with a prop twin still got low 30's frame rate at London City. Only low 20's with a single mind you, I think more going on without the engine in the way. My settings are similar to you mid/budget settings but slightly higher with some and DLSS Quality.
I do probably still have my VR Toolkit settings running for the G2 if they transferred over as I haven't touched that for months.
I am using a wired LAN on the desktop and have 5G wifi about 6 feet away but if a 4060ti can hack it, many others will too. Hence I would say the Pico is a perfect upgrade for a G2 even with a lower end card 4060ti or better especially if your happy flyng twins. I'll try ultra for singles but was just so happy with Godlike flying a couple of twins around. The view is much sweeter than the G2, more realistic, AA speckling almost non-existent.
Thanks again,
Mike
As Always thank you very much!!!😊 Im still in Love with my Pimax 8kx🎉🎉🎉
Cheers Andy best wishes
What a collection recap of VR headset my god. Nice summing them all up. I'm still in focus in getting the Pimax Crystal light with local dimming & Dmas speakers to replace my G2. But still first a GPU upgrade propably to AMD RX 7900 XTX because that price is still going down and is powerfull enought. Nvidia is just too expensive. Have a great wedding after party & enjoy the good life out of VR also :-)
Knocked it out of the park on this review/s! 🙂👍
Thanks mate I really appreciate it
I'm looking to buy a VR headset in the next few months. I've been eyeing the Bigscreen Beyond. I'm only casually interested in flight sim applications and am really looking forward to 3d movies, 360 photo experiences, and a few video games with cinematic style. I think it still seems like the right choice.
Thanks bud ❤ I like the T-Shirt: I have too many guitars 😂 Enjoy the rest of your day ❤
Haha well spotted mate. Take care 😁
I'm going to try out my PSVR2 on my comp on Tuesday.
I decided against purchasing one since they use fresnel lenses, have a relatively average resolution for an OLED display, and also have issues with Mura that are apparently quite noticeable. Additionally most of the features will not be usable on PC.
I have not tried the features of any of my VR glasses. Hab Vry software, did not work well, but the image quality was impressive. My Pico4 is collecting dust, I don't know what the PSVR2 looks like, but first impressions are very good.. from 4 hours is the app available on steam. I think much less mura via comp.
please let me know how it is with MSFS 2020 and DCS World. Do you know if it will work with the non-steam version for those of us who bought it from the MS Store?
Got one selling it with my ps5 and the psvr2 adapter it’s good be no we’re near the quest 3 looking for a pcvr with dp to replace my quest 3 know
Quest 3 is amazing - especially for the money. Upgraded to it from my Reverb G2 and haven't looked back since. Picture is so much sharper and clearer, no more tiny sweet-spot and head-tracking is also better. It's also more comfortable, I think, especially with my aftermarket facial interface and Kiwi head-strap.
Drawback 1: The Link-software seems to eat an awful lot of VRAM - I'm seeing 2 - 3 GB gone with only the Q3 active and ready to go. I'm only doing wired, so I don't know what would happen on Air-Link. Not a huge deal in most sims, but in DCS my 12 GB of VRAM are constantly maxed out, just flying around on my own on an empty MP-server. SP leaves at least 2 to 2.5 GB free under the same conditions and with the same settings. I'm not using SteamVR, so I'm not sure if there's a way to minimize the Q3's resource-hunger.
Drawback 2: Getting a Q3 almost mandates a few aftermarket upgrades, thus raising the "actual" price by at least $/€70:
- The stock face-mask is indeed quite hard and I'm glad I spent the €20 for an aftermarket one from Amazon that came with two different pads, both of which can be removed and washed, too.
- The stock-strap is not just *a bit* of a joke - I couldn't believe they're selling the headset with a flimsy thing like that attached to it. So... another €25 for me for the Kiwi non-battery strap when it was on sale - really transforms the Q3 and, IMO, something like it should come as standard with the set.
- Plus another €20 for an excellent aftermarket link- and charging-cable ("Syntech"), which not only gives great bandwidth but manages to keep the set charged up even during longer sessions.
It's been a while since I've tried a Crystal, so I can't compare the Q3's picture quality directly to that, but putting it on for the first time when I came from the Reverb G2 was almost like a revelation. And that was with complete stock-settings and without having tinkered with bitrate, resolutions or anything like that. Not only is the picture far better than on the HP-set, I'm also getting much better performance out of the Q3 than I ever got from the Reverb.
i am really struggeling tbh. I am still using my Reverb G2 to this day. I had a Crystal for a couple of weeks but decided to return it. Weight Software aswell as the lenses didnt make it for me. Ofc the sharpness was incredible however I feel like I'd like to have OLED and a better formfactor to play other games aswell.
Somehow there is no real replacement for the G2 for me personally which is a shame. I need inside out tracking + controllers which somehow seems incredibly hard. I do have a Quest 3 aswell and while the lenses are amazing I do notice the lower res. It is really a shame. I hope some better VR Headsets will be released in 2025 with the "full package". I don't want to decide wether to play sim only or other VR Titles.
I’ve just pulled the trigger on the Crystal light. I’ve been watching your vids for a few weeks, this one finally tipped me over the edge 😂
I had a HTC Vive maybe 6-7 years ago for DCS World and IL-2. Mind blown back then, I’m hoping this will have the same effect.
I hope so too. Do you know if they have the version without local dimming available for pre order?
I bought a Reverb G2 to upgrade from Rift S for 115€. It's still usable until at least 11/2026 so for a banger deal, it's a bargain to see what comes out in VR space in the next couple of years.
The G2 is a God Ray machine and a horrid product. I used to work at HP and Im embarrassed by this device.
I saved the 250$ and 3d printed some audio enhancers for the stock Pimax Crystal Speakers. That is a good option as well.
This is very helpful a well put together video I’ve always trusted your reviews and it’s nice to hear a Honest reviews without favouritism. How do I tell the wife I’ve just spent 4K on a headset 🤔😂😂
Thankyou, it really means a lot especially as it takes so much work putting videos like this together... Now if you don't mind, I'm going to hide from your wife 😅
@@VRFlightSimGuy 😂
You should try the psvr2 in dcs , i was super impressed with the visuals and in my opinion better then the quest 3 . I belive they sell it on a discount in the us and the uk.
Awesome reviews on VR just gained a new sub! 🍻 I'm new to VR as well but can't seem to shake off the motion sickness no matter how hard I grind .. it's been painful, but how do u fons the new PSVR for PC in comparison to so many other mid tier sets that u have tried?
While not as good as a newer display port headsets, one can minimize the compression artifacting of the Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop. Remember, bitrate is king with Virtual Desktop. The best investment I made to my system was buying a WIFI 6 router and using it as an access point. (I am using a TP Link Router that sits on my desk. I picked-up on sale on Amazon for $70.00 with the WIFI dedicated to the Quest 3). This allows me to max out my bit rate in Virtual Desktop. Latency does increase slightly, but while flight simming it is not an issue. With a 5800x3d, a 4080 Super and using either the AV1 codec or HEVC 10-bit codec, I max the bitrate to 200 on God Mode within Virtual Desktop. the the image is pretty darn clear and most of the compression is gone or at least not noticeable. Obviously, if the Quest 3 had a higher PPD it would make a huge difference in visual quality. Also, yes a display port on the headset would give a better image as well. My old Rift S does not even compare to the image quality I m getting in the Quest 3 with these settings. Oh, I race sim as well, and it is pretty darn impressive while race simming.
Not a huge Meta fan, trust me, but for the price you cannot beat the Quest 3 purely on cost to feature ratio. I just wish Meta's privacy policies were better. I have all the privacy items turned off, but who knows……
Quest 3 with Pimax Display and Display Port would be nice 😍😊
I cant cope with the fact that in 2024 wide fov seems to be gone😏 Really sucks that even Pimax stopped going into this direction.
Because current hardware can't run that many pixels and a high resolution. We're years out still from that. Fov is not looked upon as important by manufacturer's right now. Most people want higher resolutions instead
@jamiesalmonsculpture8599 exactly, I'd much rather have 35ppd at 110 fov, than 17.5ppd at 220.
@@beanos2287 How about 30ppd and 150fov
I agree. I was going to order crystal light but I think I will wait. Sharper image than my Pico 4 would be great for sure but what I'm missing most is fov. Hyper vision optics look promising but sadly still no news from any manufacturer adopting it in their projects.
It's manly because of the limitations of dp 1.4 they're isn't really that much more headroom for them to push fov and resolution at the same time. Gotta wait till next gen gpus from nivida to have dp 2.0+.
Awesome video Steve! Quite the labor of love.
Thanks mate
Audio with Big Screen Beyond. I use earpods! (Soundcaoe Liberty 4 NC which is a $100 earbud set (I got it for $70 on Amazon Prime Day sale).
It is WAY better than the sound on my old Reverb G2. And the G2 sound was very good. But these type of high end earbuds (made for Ipads and Iphones) are even much better! True high fidelity. Mine sounds better than my AutioTech M50 studio on ear headset). My headset that I use with these are the Crystal Light with standard sound.
Anyway Soundcore also makes $30 earbuds.
Check UA-cam videos on these type of earpods (a.k.a. earbuds).
Big Screen Beyond has no sound. Earpods are the tiniest and they are wireless ((bluetotth). And because they are in ear, they sound better than off ear. Much better!
How would you rate the BigScreenBeyond in terms of visual quality in comparison to the G2? Sure, OLED is better, and it's lighter, but how would you rate it overall in comparison to the G2? Is the sweetspot of the BigScreenBeyond biger or smaller than the G2? Is the glare better or worse in the BigScreenBeyond? THanks a lot!
@@TheOli4D I have a Beyond and a G2. The sweet spot on the Beyond is much bigger. Glare is worse but not terribly so, especially with prescription lenses. Resolution is appreciably higher. FOV is about the same. Comfort is of course vastly superior. Persistence is a little worse than the G2, especially with the brightness above 100%, but it isn't bad. Overall I'd recommend the Beyond.
Very well made and fair comparison as usual mate. Just missing some detail of state of the art of BigScreen OpenFX compatibility ... Cheers.
Great video Steve. In the Market for a new headset now after getting a 7900XTX, the Rift S I think is bottlenecking my visuals a bit! Probably going to go for the Pimax Crystal light, as it's more within my price range - but I am a little put off by the lottery of not knowing if you'll get a bad one or not! No need for a wireless headset, so I think I'm best with a direct gpu connection - like my Rift.
AR (see through) has become essential to me. I fly with my iPad with SkyDemon/Foreflight. So I guess it remains Quest3 for the time being.
A brilliant in-depth review, thanks for your continued great work 👏
I’m looking to replace my Quest 2, there’s lots of possible headsets to weigh up, still not sure what to go for 🤔😂
Much appreciated thankyou. It's great we have so may options now, but it can make things a little tricky!
There is already an issue with gaze tracking in the last two releases of Varjo Base, yet it is only those latest versions that don't get the 'no video' message problem on top end PCs. 8 months after purchase at the 999 price I can finally actually use the Aero after Varjo replaced the complete headset, but gaze tracking is a known issue both for glasses wearers and also with inserts (which I have yet to buy as I was just trying to get it to work first).
As you say, the commercial customers seem willing to accept less than end users. Varjo support do what they can to help but are obviously limited by their development focus on the XR4. I can't honestly see myself considering an XR4 after the way they pretended to be just reducing the price yet were actually dumping all inventory of the Aero.
STILL waiting on a 2 x 4K OLED panel MR/AR headset with aspheric lenses!
Looking forward to high FOV aspheric headsets, like the 12k
We need a campaign to ‘help’ Asobo properly support DFR
4090 7800x3D DLSS Quality with eye tracking in MSFS I can get an extra 8 or so frames which is a nice extra buffer in VR
Hey, the Vive Pro 2 is a good and relatively cheap headset. The problem that most people have with it is the focal distance. I found out rather by accident that with my work glasses, which have one diopter less, I get along very, very well with the VP2 now. If you can see well without visual aids, you should probably try reading glasses with different strengths. If you then use reshade to resharp, you get a really good image with a decent FOV. It also increases the sweet spot! The only annoying thing is glare, but in most games it doesn't show up that much, I have 160% vision with vision correction, which only about 5-10% of people have and I also tried the Pimax Crystal Light. The screendooreffect with the Crystal was worse than with the VP2, so I'm sticking with the VP2 for now. I'm now waiting for the PCSuper and hoping for a relatively inexpensive headset without SDE. I think the XR-4 is probably a dream so far, but with tiger stripes a no go. The VR1 is simply too heavy and has SDE like the VP2 or the Pimax Crystal!
Supertrash with fresnel lenses
thanks for the video! where is my vr1? haha
I hope you recieve it soon mate.
Coming very soon 🎉
Nothing wrong buying a G2 as we simply turn off WIN11 Updates. It does NOT brick it at all. Lots of stuff is "unsupported" like WIN10 lol. They are totally worth getting.
Another great video Steve! So what future headset (if any) are you REALLY excited about?
Running the Varjo Aero and still love it. But had a couple of glitches and started to get panicked that it might break and then I'll be stuck because right now, I'm not sure what Id replace it with? Crystal Light would be ok but I don't like the sound of quality issues still hitting pimax and small sweet spot would be annoying. the VR1 is almost certainly the one I should get, but that's some way off. Just got to hope my Aero continues to work for a while longer yet
So speaking of two points you made in this videos about cons of some of these headsets no display port and frenel lens… we now have a new contender psvr2 had oled panels which are frenel lens but now has a display port adapter please review it and lets see where you place it
Can we get some timestamps on this?
ive the 15mm facecover but i cant confirm. i like them a lot but quest pro fits better.
do you fix PCL very tight ore lose?
still on my Vive Pro 2... tried the Quest 3 but i was not happy with the image quality both with link cable and WiFi (though not 6e, just 6). Ditched it and returned to VP2, even though lenses are much worse
Glad you are still enjoying it.
Varjo Xr4 through the lense vs vr1 through the lense would be nice to see if the xr4 is truly much sharper
Now that you can use the PSVR2 with the PC adapter what about that? Can be had on StockX or GameStop for $400. The PSVR2 is the only headset I have and I'm running a laptop with a RTX 3070ti and wondering if it's worth upgrading to the Crystal light if I don't plan on upgrading my GPU at least for now...
Hey Steve,
Thanks for the informative video….
I am wanting to order the Somnium 1 VR unit but I would like your input before I make the plunge.
I mainly play DCS and I really need a headset that has clarity on plain spotting!
what head set would work best?
Do I need all the functions and tech like the premium headset or mid level?
I don’t think I need pass through or hand tracking as I use a 1-1 scale fully functioning cockpit (P-51D Mustang) which is have very good muscle memory.
I’m currently using the HP Reverb G2 now looking for a replacement. I’m happy to invest so money is not a factor in this purchase as its cheaper than owning a P-51😂
Thanks in advance for your opinoin.
Cheers
Damien
Can't understand the "hate" against Varjo! The Aero will run also after 2025 and be better than a lot of other headsets. Just the "support" ends. The software and the HMD will stil work! I'll wait until MSFS 2024 comes out, will see how it works in VR with my 4090 and then I will decide weather I replaece the reverb G2 and for me the Varjo is also in 2025 still an option! I can buy a "like new" Aero incl. 2 Steam Lighthouse Bases for less than 800 Euro.
Using bigscreen beyond. I like it but no other headset do you have send back and forth for ipd adjustments and the glare is horrible.
Glare is a real shame
Can we get a hair care tutorial? This is important because VR technology does affect hair state.
Can you do a Best "Affordable" VR Headset guide for August 2024
Great suggestion thanks
You won't be disappointed with the PCL. Excellent piece of kit. Very easy to set up and great in DCS set at 72fps. In game set at 75fps. Very stable and consistent
Ah, pancake lenses (on the PICO), so that's just like the Q3 (pancake lenses)
Hiyaaaa & good morning ☕️🌞Are you going to be testing the psvr2 with the new pc adapter with msfs & dcs?
Hey there! Not planned at the moment sorry.
Heinz beans and sausages Vs Heinz Beans with Richmond sausages comparison please
I want a monitor replacement headset which appears to limit me to Bigscreen. Nothing else seems light enough to wear for 4-6 hours. Unfortunately, I hear its screen mirroring is really poor.
What about the “Vive Deckard” should I wait for that or get a quest 3? I wanna use it for space sims and random games.
Nothing of these really screams G2 replacement. Either too expensive, or less image quality, or requires base stations, or is more uncomfortable, or worse sound, or a combination of factors.
3:12 did they make cooling better on the quest 3? Because back then I had a quest 2 and it used to get really hot. Feel like we need some airflow and ventilation to dispense the excessive heat.
S3 Pro Headstrap has a vent
Great video. What video card do you recommend for meta quest 3? I currently have a NVidia 3060. Thanks.
Ideally, a 4070 or above for MSFS 👍
@@VRFlightSimGuy Thanks so much for your reply. I really enjoy your informative videos.
This is so funny. I found your channel last night at like 3am and was looking for this video and couldn’t find it. Suddenly, the next morning … it’s posted!
We’ll see what happens. After watching many of your videos I was leaning towards the Pimax Crystal Light but several unhappy customers on their subreddit plus it seems back ordered so that sorta turned me off a bit.
I know you don’t recommend Quest 3 but I think I might go for it just cause it’s sorta easy and just workssss … better than nothing. And using it on my sofa for movies also sounds fun.
haha great timing. I actually think the Quest 3 sounds like the right headset for you at this stage. Thanks for watching :)
I can assure you the Quest 3 is an amazing headset for allround VR. The edge to edge Quality is unbeaten. As I mentioned before I had the Pimax Crystal for around 2 weeks and I was a little bummed. The screen itself is amazing but I expected lenses that could hold up to the Quest 3 in terms of edge to edge quality and it simply couldn't. Also nearly 3 times the price but a weaker processor for standalone do not sound right to me
Forget pimax they lied about their crystal and the quality is rubbish. The visuals ok are very sharp. But their controllers don’t track properly the sound is rubbish all unless you buy another 700 dollars worth of stuff is the head set is ok. Their software is also rubbish.
Have you tried running virtual desktop with a Wi-Fi 6E connection on the meta-quest three?
which one is the best?
In the video
Had a quest 3 for dcs I do want to get a pcvr head set that is ass good in clarity/ visuals would the pimax be the best one to go for or not really struggling to find something that’s going to be on par or better ? Any help thanks
Which rudder pedals have you found to be the best over 2024?
How did you come up with the idea that chrystal lights are comfortable?
It is absolutely top-heavy and actually uncomfortable due to the high pressure on the face.
You sound like you are wearing it wrong, but hey, maybe it just doesn't fit your face.
@@VRFlightSimGuy
how do i wearing it right ? can you give me some tipps plz.
i use the 15mm facefoam,
DPVR E4 is looking quite promising for $599
Check out my review. It's not.
My Crystal light died in less than a month.
Sorry Pimax your service is terrible, after days of tickets and finally a chat on discord it was confirmed my unit needs replacing.
I was informed that the wait for a replacement is so long that it would be faster for me to purchase a new one from a local supplier, and they will refund my purchase after I send it back and they receive it.
My local supplier is still waiting on stock, so my best case scenario is over a month to replace the headset. Not impressed with that kind of after sales service. This is early days but if the failure rate is anything like the Reverb G2 there will be some long waiting times to get your faulty headset replaced.
Good luck guys, you may need it.
Oh Ken. That sucks. So sorry to hear that. Might be worth asking for help on my Discord as the Pimax team are there.
@@VRFlightSimGuy Thanks Steve, I have already been communicating with Niko, he came to the conclusion that the heaset needed replacing, he promissed me VIP service but then seemingly got overuled by sales and service, they did offer me a set of DMAS headphones, which is better than nothing. I think it's more the slowness of replys on tickets and that a warranty claim is put to the back of the queue, in comparison when my G2 needed replacing the tech spoke directly to me the same day on the phone and had a priority replacement sent out that day, I then returned the faulty one in the prepaid package provided. with this mob they want my old heaset back at my expense then when they recieve it they will credit me my initial cost. very inefficient and perhaps because they have such demand they can treat us this way, honestly if there was an alternative headset out there I would just return it and go buy from another company. I have a gut feeling that these headsets are going to fail quite a lot, the quality of the power pack plug and connectors felt flimsy, I hope I am wrong and my case is a one off as I really want them to succeed we need headsets like these out there, just wish their service was better.
cheers
Ken
I think youtube is slacking off. I am not seeing your vids as often in my feed. 🤔
UA-cam never seems to like pushing my content sadly! Too niche perhaps :D
Ordered a PCL on the 28th, lets see how long it takes 😂
Companies need to introduce discount affiliate links.
At least 5% would feel nice. 10% is better and it's basically nothing.
Where is the XTAL 3?
I am giving up...
I just bought the Quest 3 and i have a AMD Ryzen 7900X3D 12-Core Processor and a 3080 graphic card, and still i have to use settings in Meta Quest 3, Virtual Desktop settings and streaming, OpenXR Toolkit and also in MFS2020.
I followed you advice and gets only 17-20fps and a graphic that are gritty and awful... I GIVE UP!
Mayby i should just go back to my HP Reverb G1... at least it worked...
UNLESS... you are making a good new video for us newbies...please!
You have set something completely wrong - I also use paid Virtual Desktop. I have a CPU i5-12400F + RTX 4070 and on Quest 3 MSFS2020 runs absolutely smoothly without artifacts, I use 5 GHz wireless.
@@michalpetrilak3976
Hmm i will try again, but it's just sooo many options in settings.
I run 5GHz to, and with a 1200Mbps, so maybe the Quest 3 are defect?
@@DjankoDK What I recommend is the first thing: uninstall all the Oculus software from your PC (its size is 5 GB). This software is outdated, malfunctions and is completely useless. Instead, install the freeware Steam Link on both the PC and the Quest 3. Steam Link works wirelessly, just like Virtual Desktop, it's a new software half a year old. I use AV1 codec, with automatic Bitrate setting. Note: the codec in RTX 40xx is 40% faster than in RTX 30xx.

You have to do a dumbed down version for ppl that are not techy 😂
Crystal is the worst for what you get. Got it and the quest 3.
Sorry the Pimax company are just robbers how they did their marketing. 1699 euro for an uncomfortable head set and absolutely none of the features they said would come with it. Sorry for that price those dmax ear phones should have come with it and also they could have just made those with the lighthouse face plate. Tracking is rubbish with controllers. For the price I expect a great tracking comfortable good sounding heat set.
Sorry that’s where I think pimax are the slimiest out of all.
For the XR4 tracking, would a painting or pattern on the wall to your left help with the tracking. White walls are detrimental for camera tracking?
Yes that would definitely help
This sounds absolutely ridiculous
@@x32i77 how so? Are you into camera field and pattern recognition?
@@b6s4shelter no my point is that on every other headset like quest 3 for example this is not necessary
@@x32i77 you probably have a setting with plenty of contrasting shapes the track. This is how it works
Thanks mate! Based on your opinion and others I ordered the pimax crystal light. 🎉
Congrats!
Pimax just isn't there yet IMO. Good luck.
@@Gorilla_Jones which headset is for that price 😉😉😊
is AMD still bad at VR? What GPU do you recommend? Ever tried AMD?
Lots of AMD content on the channel 👍
@@VRFlightSimGuy thank you for the quick answer
Any news on the Pico 4 refresh? They announced that a while ago. No Pico 5 though.
No idea 🤔
@@VRFlightSimGuy Yeah, no news since the announcement. No hints from VR youtubers that they'd be getting review units either. Does not sound good...
@@bakakafka4428 I've heard nothing from my Pico contact.
The G2 has at least two more years of life and you can get one for what, two hundred bucks?
2024: it doesnt seem there is a standout product ill wait for 2025 with my G2
Your Discord link is not working for me, maybe others?

You were a bit premature with this video a few days before PS VR2 PCVR support.
Reverb G2 here and not going to buy any new harware in 2024. Let's se what 2025 will bring us.
Yep, same here. Crystal light seemed good but I want better fov
👍👍👍👍👍
Good video, but a rehash of several others that are all the same
I have a crystal, has great visuals.
But a rip off for what it is.
1600 euro for a headset that controllers tracks like rubbish ( worse that G2), badly built, most uncomfortable headset out there, made to buy dmax and lighthouse ( that should have been included for that price)
Having this and a quest 3…. I have to say the quest 3 is the most complete head set out there all the rest are just over rushed and push hyped and following sleazy marketing tactics.
From what I’ve seen the pimax is very cheaply built.
DO NOT BUY META ANYTHING if you plan on playing DCS stay far away from it just a friendly reminder
Don't buy would be anything Pimax imo, based on their inability to provide a fully complete product (crystal shipped with one set of the two promised sets of lenses), poor build quality, poor fit for many Western shaped heads (mine included), a battery system which is badly implemented unless you conjure up a method to keep it reasonably well charged while using. Useless features such as eye tracking that has very few discernible performance benefits, atrocious software that still cannot reliably implement frame generation. I'm not a fan you might say. Price to performance make this a terrible waste of money
F Pimax and their customer support - this tuber is clearly payed in all his praise of them
The VR1 website is trash and buggy. That isn’t a good first impression.
