That's a real beauty. I'm with you on contrast for Damascus though. Reate did a really good job on the Begg steelcraft damasteel. That's how I prefer it.
I have the ishtar with timascus inlay and hand "scalloped" (i think it is what this process is calles) handles, and can tell you, HERMAN IS A MASTER. Only SBD and partially shirogorov can be compared to it shen it comes to craftsmanship, when talking machined customs
Love Herman knives 👍 I know Herman’s signature polished screw tips showing slightly proud is a typical detail in most of his models. At the video time of 14:13, it appears on this particular variant, the polished screw tips are stepped as they are increasing in length from the first polished screw tip closest to the show side pivot as they slightly increase in length as you reach the polished screw tip closest to the back end of the show scale, by only a minuscule measurement. I’m curious if this was intentional or the end product of a general model going through the hands of a Herman craftsman. I’d imagine this was intentional but not for sure. Any idea Jim?? 🤙⚔️🗡️🔪✊
been trying to save up for a black timascus M398 Ishtar for awhile now but I always end up seeing something else I want as well and end up screwing up my saving. Lmfao. Imo, the Mantis 1 " Bushido, The spirit of the Samurai" is by far the sexiest and most badass knife I personally have seen come from Herman Knives. Idk if its the gold inlays or the engraving work but that Mantis just looks absolutely gorgeous Imo. If I had $10k I could spend on a knife that Mantis would be in my collection in a heartbeat. maybe after I pay off my new CKF integral I'll start trying to put money away again for the Herman I want. Lol
Thanks for the link. Man ! That Bushido video, wow.
Talented folks.
W O W !! That box! That knife!!!
Apart from that; your intro's keep getting better and better.
That is a sacred object right there. So damn nice. The action, the materials, the blade shape. Perfection.

Fantastic build !!!!
I had one of the more plain jane Oviums a few years ago and its probably my favorite model of his. This version looks quite exceptional

Imagine cutting up a bunch of cardboard boxes with that thing? I can't. It's a work of art!
