I really don't understand how Crucible came to bankruptcy, at the golden era of the blade market, specifically with the biggest part of the production blades worldwide are related to
Energy costs I would guess, this is actually deliberate globalist manipulation. Have scumbag politicians make energy so expensive that your manufacturing, steel etc cannot compete with China India etc...oops your just not competitive, framed like they are somehow doing it better. That's one of the ways they kill our economy.
@panagiotissoufliotis6558 I gave a detailed explanation on the de-growth globalists agenda, it was removed...tells you they don't want anyone talking about the deliberate destruction
Ive had the Solidago for almost 2 years now. Its an incredible blade with many applications. Aaron Morgan(one of the Houghton Era knife designers and owners)and I have used it to clear hurricane debris and other camping needs. Its a beast of a knife that always stays sharp! MORE PEOPLE NEED THIS KNIFE!!!
I absolutely love my Reiff Circadian and agree 100% with it being on this list! It has not left my pocket since I got it. Merry Christmas to you and yours and God bless Aaron!
Thanks Aaron, great video! LT five is superb, and my go to belt blade in the woods. Just received AK 6.5 but haven't taken it out yet. Mini harpoon rides in pocket every day! KarBar Turok is my tactical woods knife after a few alterations.
Thanks for the review. It's just as entertaining to read through the comments and see what knives others think should have made your list. Here's wishing you and your family a merry Christmas, including your brother, and I look forward to see what you bring us in 2025.
I have the LT5, I love how broad the blade is. I was battoning some really really hard, old wood, so knotty and burled. wicked stuff. the knife was bent in 2 different directions at once I thought for sure it would break.. but it thought... F it.. we ball... I kept hitting it, kept battoning through the knots... it exploded that thick log, and came back to dead straight, I'm telling you that knife was twisted into an S shape... amazing heat treat!
Interesting list. I only have the Architect 5.5. In 2024 I also picked up the Kizer Smolt, the White River Ursus 45, the White River Ursus Cub, and a MKC Mini Speedgoat.
I've lived in Colorado since April of 1983. I've worked at four different Firearms stores that I was the gun department manager for two of them. Dave Cooks and Gart Brothers.Brother's. I live west of Denver in the Rockies about 9000feet high in elevation. I like that you live in Colorado also
I bought 2 knives this year based on your reviews. The Lionsteel T6 (which you didn't feature on this video) and the Overland Sport. I love both of them and edc the Sport quite often.
Have an LT5 incoming. Replacing some of my TOPS. My other two best purchases this year (not 22024 releases) were the WTG MT. LAGUNA designed by Wingman 115, excellent blade and the WTGxCARNIVORA collab PANTHERA as close to any one tool option I’ve ever seen. Love the bullet proof designs of WTG, your blade design is definitely going in this category IMO, few fixed blades spec’s like the LT5 for that price point. Downsizing my collection gave up 4 TOPS for the LT5.😎🤘🇨🇦
Got the Kizer mini harpoon and love it the tech lock was not good as you mentioned but a multi clip fixed that and is my EDC. This thing is easily sharp enough to shave with.
BK19 is awesome, and the sheath is also excellent. I also love the Mini Bronco. It's a very handy EDC size in my opinion. Love the handle and the sheath. I have two 6.5" and one 3.5" knives from Architect Knives. All of them are BEYOND excellent. I just got the 3.5", and it's unbelievable. Great year-end review brother!
I’m new to the fixed blade scene. I just purchased the Kizer Mini Harpoon to replace my Spyderco. I added the ulticlip and have been very happy with it. God bless & thanks for the great review.
The Cold Steel Master Hunter in 3V is a Fantastic Blade and Still at around $100 is super hard to beat , I do have the old black model that was the 1st. model produced and Never had a problem with it but Ive heard the new model made in Italy has had some problems but I can't speak on that because I have never used one and its such a shame , but Crap like that happens when a Chinese Company buys an American Company... R.I.P. Cold Steel 😢😭
I started hunting this year and the master hunter 3v has been amazing! I have a feeling it will be my hunting knife for the rest of my life. Great knife, great value! I have the original model from before cold steel got bought out
Love the Boker Mini Bronco with the full size handle to work with. I don't think I've ever been disappointed with a Condor sheath. They're often better than the knife.
You can't go wrong with a Becker, I have a Becker BK9 and I freaking love it. I put a better set of scales on it and oh my God I can swing that thing all day long.
I'm finishing up the year with WTG Red Wolf, Kizylar Supreme Echo, Esse Fixed Xancudo, Acta Non Verba Spelter M311 no choil, Bark River Gunny LT Rampless drop point and Maxace Baal in Vanadis 4 Extra. Next year I already have my sights on stuff I wanted in the 1990's and Mora Eldris
G'day Aaron, a great reminder of the good, the bad and the ugly this year ......... thankfully ..... the good side ...... is very good !!! .... and the well worn, but very apt, "like a kid in a lolly shop" analogy comes to mind ; ) Btw; I have an order in for a Solidago, ......... look forward to putt'n it through a few gum tree branches ; ) Cheers Duke.
Great Video Aaron 👍 , I always look forward to seeing your "Best of the Year" videos , they are always worth the wait . I bought that Esee Kukri about 10yrs ago when Ontario was making them in 1095 steel , they had rubber handles and only cost $55 on Amazon.... 👍🖖
My go too other then a Tkell knifes Is my Half face blades disaster jr. I love the Native American inspired designs half blades comes up with plus it cool to support a Navy Seals small business.
I just sold my Lionsteel b40, and I dont really know why. Good knife, just no pizzazz lol Nothing about it stood out. The LT5 on the other hand.. I cant get over how much I like that thing.. I added some upgrades to the sheath, both commercial and DIY for my convenience of carry and purpose, and it is just.. idk, Bro, it might be Top 3 in my whole collection, with nothing really stopping it from being #1 outside of how new it is. Got it as a Father's Day present from the family just this year, and the New Guy on the Block doesn't get to replace the one's I'd consider timeless.. But outside of that, for function, performance, comfort, steel, materials, size, aesthetic, even the people involved, meaning, you having a hand in the design, plus TJ being just such a good dude, it's American made... I fricken love that thing. I think it gets the title of Best New Production Knife that's been made in at least the last couple of years going back. That thing rocks.
WTF? a top 12 2024 best edc fixed blade list without a TKell knife? That's nuts!!! What about the Tkell Nighstalker or TKell agent 007? These are insanely well crafted blades with ALL components Made in USA and handcrafted in Georgia, USA. Plus TKell has ABSOLUTELY the best Kydex sheaths made in house by Tim himself with the smallest profile and best carry options for EDC ....AND TKell customer service is ABOVE AND BEYOND GOD TIER. They also make a bushman knife and a wide assortment of tactical, survival, camping and self defense knives that blow away anything on your list with LIFETIME WARRANTY. EXTREMELY disappointed TKell didn't make the list. This 12 day Christmas time list without a TKell is like Christmas with presents and eggnog!!!
I think the eafengrow ef135 in dc53 for 60 bucks outperforms several of these knives on the list. It may be similar on paper but the steel seems to be much better than D2 to me anyway.
@gideonstactical thank you for this video! I was literally watching the best fixed blades of 2023 yesterday wondering when you were going to make an updated list. You’re awesome lol. Also I appreciate you saying Merry Christmas and God bless in one of your other videos. Not many are open about that. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and that He brings blessings to you and your family!
Tried to buy the BK19 Nessmuck on Smokey Mountain Knife Works website on 12-14-2024. Their stupid captcha on the checkout kept glitching out. Tried to make an account samething with whole captcha. Tried to calling customer service, was on hold for 15 minutes until I found the knife on ebay for $55 with free shipping. Bought it. Oh well, SMKW BS cost them lost revenue. Even with the sale, taxes and shipping it was still like $88.
Considering they are based in NY I don’t feel bad. NY is garbage to run a business. Over the last 10 years many of our clients, vendors and partners have moved they business out of NY because of how bad it is. It sucks for the workers but they could do it and be fine.
Colorado use to be so amazing growing up in the 90s in castle rock I literally carried a shot gun in the window of my truck. Obviously it all changed that sad day in cherry creek. I show up twice a year to hunt these days and absolutely stay away from Denver and if I’m driving the peterbilt through I take E470 all the way around. Just sad that my wild Wild West state came down to this mini. Ca. Merry Xmas buddy
Oh, and Bro.. We should crowd fund and buy Crucible. First thing we'd do is move it out of New York to a place like West Virginia, and then commence the crushing.. Every supporter of a certain tier of dollar amount and/or effort gets a massive discount on CPM steel for life 😎
I like the BK19, but prefer the harpoon blade of the '18 - both are phenomenal around the yard though, so I switch between them and my faithful ESEEs routinely. Was hesitant to buy in on the expense of magnacut, but picked up the Reiff Circadian as an EDC and have loved it; replaced my folders completely. Could use just a bit more length on the handle but a Paracord lanyard fixed that. Otherwise, it's the perfect profile for my use. I may even pick up another one when I get some extra $$.
Hey brother, I'm loving the content! Having you checked out the chopper odenwolf makes? It looks very interesting to me, I'd be curious what you think about it!
Any chance you know of another supplier of the Odenwolf W in Canada ? You sold me on the knife but OW website seems to deliver to US only. Please advise.
I have the mini harpoon with ultem scales, came with a horrible leather sheath, the button popper was in the path of the cutting edge. Contacted Kizer and they sent me a sweet carbon fibre style kydex taco sheath
THE AK 5.5!!! I WANT ONE IN MAGNACUT! They just restocked a few weeks ago and were out THE NEXT DAY!!!! 😭 On another note, sponsor huckberry has a knife with gerber, the huckberryXgerber Terracraft in s30v and micarta handle... Have you used it? Is it worth the 💲? Its a beautiful knife and i want one but theres so many options out there that cost alot less and im not the type to pay extra for a name
The cpm 3 versions are instock of the AK5.5 which I would take over the Gerber. Here is my original review ua-cam.com/video/CIrcpRspo_A/v-deo.htmlsi=2Jktl0TZrZXU1tec
@gideonstactical Hey Aaron, always love watching your videos. I had a couple questions about some of the blades you have reviewed and a couple that maybe you haven't. I have been looking into another edc knife and also a camp/companion knife. If you had to pick between the Kershaw Steppe and the Kizer mini Harpoon, what would be your choice? And also between a Mora Garberg and a M07 Ranger Puukko? I have also been looking at the Rainier Knives Basecamp, Smith & Sons Axiom, and the White River Small Game for an edc option. Have you had any experience with these 3 options? Any feedback would be appreciated! Thank you for all your reviews and I look forward to many more videos!
Hey Bret. Thanks for watching and being a part of the GT crew. For dedicated Edc I would say the Kizer, if you’re wanting to do more outdoor hiking, I would take the step. Between the Garber and the M07 it’s really gonna come down to preference. Do you want to bush craft and do you like Scandi grind well then that’s the way to go in the Mora if you like more of Tactical field Knife vibe but very bushcrafty than the M07. I have not use the other three Knives can’t really speak to them. Hope that helps.
Great analysis, thank you! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Through TJ’s testing of the Rockwell hardness he was able to get it to that level so it has excellent attention but read some of the comments super tough.
@gideonstactical i have just heard that a2 at 56 to 58 can be kinda chippy so I wasn't sure if a harder Rockwell would make that worse or anything. Thanx for the reply.

Been carrying the Bradford guardian 3 in AEB-L steel for a few years now. Definitely looking at getting some of the edc fix blades you showed. Thanks!
LT6 was my favorite knife. This was a great review.
Thanx for the video my Bladed Brother 👍⚔✝🇺🇸
That Peltonen sissipukko is an iconic classic here in northern europe...
Schwarz LT5 has become my favorite Fixed blade. Luv the handle, blade, & sheath

My favorites are anything by Lionsteel and TOPS.
I feel you here. Good stuff, exciting and different!
White river ursus 45 does it all for me
I'm curious why it didn't make the list?
Just got my hands on the Overland sport yesterday from TJ’s last drop, it’s a fantastic edc, surpassed my expectations.
Glad to hear you’re happy with it!
In addition, I just ordered the sky weight chest rig from 511 and I’m a proud owner of the Solidago, your hitting for 3 for 3 old son! God bless!
Overland Sport FTW! Also a great fixed blade in 2024 was the Boker BafF Packlite - ultralight ultra-slicy magnacut for 90 bucks!
Great review Aaron. Merry Christmas to you & the crew.

Hello Aaron. What model Ulti-clip do you use?
Loving my white river ursus cub I’m surprised it didn’t make the list
At max 4.724409" blade length, you could sell them in germany too. Illegal to carry at 5" here.
Great analysis, thank you! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
42 Minutes.... PASS.
A2 at 62 to 63? Can you get more into your decision for that ? Just curious.
Non chippy again read the many comments of other uses of the model on this video zero issues.
If the LT 5 had a leather sheath I'd be all over it. Tired of kydex
Was hoping that the Benchmade Dacian would have made the cut. I guess the sheath really is that bad!
Yes, and the overland sport blows it out of the water in steel quality and sheath and price
Why no mora garberg??!
Because I review it years ago. This is a 2024 list
Got my steppe from the first run. I love it but get an ulti clip
Agreed!
Whats gonna happen to spyderco and benchmade etc
BHQ has flytanium arcade for $110 right now
For $100 just get a kukri from Nepal. Even the poorly made ones are capable workhorses
