Welcome everyone, in today's UA-cam gaming video we re-visit a dead game called 'Hyper Scape'. Ubisoft recently announced the Hyper Scape will be shutting down on the 28th of April. Playing Hyper Scape in 2022 brought back a lot of memories, and made me realise that this could have been one of the best Battle Royale games, it had huge potential and was very successful in its first week of launch.

Shame. Game had such potential. Was more of a "chase people simulator" than a battle royale though. Well at least that's what turned me off too it

Ubisoft don't give love and attention as much compare to rainbow 6 and Tom Clancy's series they don't put any effort in Hyper Scape it will be a great game if Ubisoft stop milking Tom Clancy's I'm gonna start a #SaveHyperScape and #FuckUbisoft

The reason this game died was bc Ubisoft didn’t listen to there community, if your not gonna listen to ur fan base when it comes to changes an stuff ofc it’s gonna die. In a br ur supposed to give the people wat they want. The sniper is too over powered, I hate that you can’t go threw all buildings, I hate they removed duos,an normal squads, I hate the new map, I also hate how they didn’t unvaulted the floor hack an add some kind of limit or timer when you use it,
in all of my time spent as part of this community, I've noticed that among some other issues, there's one reason why this game was always doomed to fail. most people just never quite understood what it takes to be good at it, or to even get a kill for some.
in hyper scape, the first thing you have to master, and your top priority, is MOVEMENT. it is the main skill that always separated new players from the regulars.
the rooftop chases were an integral part of what hyper scape was. winning fights came down to who was faster, not just better with their gun. if you couldn't run away from a losing battle, you were dead. if you couldn't chase down a retreating opponent, you weren't getting the kill. that's the rule.
any ability that let you do one or both of those things would always be a top, and even a must pick. there's no denying that. and as much as they tended to prolong the fights, that wasn't always their fault. every escape ability was exploitable in some way: invisibility was easy to track down simply because of the loud noise it makes, and armor is just... obvious. meanwhile all you had to do in order to chase down a slam or teleport, was to use one of those abilities yourself.
but how was a new player supposed to know any of that? all they would see was a fast paced br with cool movement tech that they'd never use anyway. they then would proceed to go and get immediately slammed by the people who already figured it out. and then, they would leave and never touch the game again. end of story, end of game.
tl;dr: some of y'all missed the point
The problem is that it was a super fast fps very complicated compared to other games like fortnite and we live in a generation of dumb kids that don't like a game difficult or too fast, they just prefer super simple games where they can camper. Titanfall 2 has the same mechanic and it's at the bottom... I'm very sad for these fantastic games falling for a disgusting generation
nah bro, i completely disagree, plenty of hard online games still see play today, if people "didnt see the point" where movement based game and movement based abilities were important then that doesn't make sense because that's such an obvious connection, look at apex and pathfinder, he is good due to his movement based moves in a movement based game. his grapple is by far one of the best movement abilities. you expect me to believe that this games entire point went over peoples heads? that the majority of starting players wouldn't of made the connection "movement is important so having movement based moves like ground slam, the dash, etc would probably be the way to go" you really think all those people missed that point when this game was popular? no that doesn't make sense. every time I hear a reasoning for this game dying, it doesn't connect at all. I had my personal reasons for not playing the game and the movement was not one of em, neither was the high skill gap and I feel like that wasn't the case for many fellow noobs players. it was the gunplay and boring map that ultimately not wanna make me play.

Game should be
1. Slower
2. More focused on aim. Movement can get annoying
3. A balance between looting and fighting like apex. Looting can be satisfying.
Thats it. If they managed these points it would have been much more popular.

1. Fast pace set it apart from other games
2. The point was an "arena shooter" style of gameplay, one of the defining factors of skill in anything arena is/always has been movement. I'll back up the argument that movement in apex is imoortant enough to change the tide of a fight
3. looting can be overwhelming and confusing, especially when you have dozens and dozens of different items. Hyper Scape streamlined this by making ammunition universal, and weapons/abilities easily upgradable. The idea was to get into a fight quicker- same with reviving (ie, dying but still being able to move to scout ahead/enemies dropping restore points, everything in hyper scape was designed to be quick).
while difficulty certainly drove people away, we're in the age of "everyone wants to be a god tier gamer." I think it was more so the lack of content and things to do, and ubisofts CONTINUOUS community negligence and terrible updates. I played the game for close to 2000 hours, and virtually everyone I spoke to that I knew, quit due to the lack of content, not because it was hard, regardless of whether they played for 5 hours, or thousands
I don't care if Hyperscape got shut down, it was a Battle Royale game and I don't care for that genre as much as other genres.
I just hope they can use the gameplay and art style for other games coming out of Ubisoft. It looks super polished for being a Sci-Fi shooter and I would be down for playing other games using the game gameplay mechanics and kept the futuristic art style it had.

@@justbr34th12 it’s a big shame man cos I really like the game, it’s different to others and it’s fun, I don’t enjoy many games especially the free ones but this one I throughly enjoyed, made me feel like I was playing a cross of apex legends and call of duty advanced warfare🤣 it’s such a shame it’s going

Another problem is the game only released on Ubisoft Launcher so the exposure it gets is lower. If it were to release on Steam it would've boost the player base, Titanfall 2 got increased amount of population when it came to steam
They nailed the art style looks kinda like tron but a month after release i completely forgot this existed but those few hours i played with my friends where fun
I’m not just sad that I won’t be able to play this game anymore, but I just regret not reading all of the texts and stories every character had, and all the memories I didn’t read. I can screenshot my cosmetics and stuff, but not all these texts. I’ll miss it so much, I still remember season 1 and 2 like it was yesterday. I feel like a fool for having hope in maybe season 4, or that someone was going to buy the game to keep it going, but it simply didn’t happen. Great video btw, hope you’re doing great.

I was just thinking about this game a week ago.. Always sad to see an online-only game be shut down and forever in-accessible. This game would've been great if it was an arena 6v6 or 12v12 style game. RIP HyperScape, your potential won't be forgotten

Problem with this game for me was that it was wayyyy too hard to kill people, the autoheal was so fast and the guns did hardly any damage, so as soon as u got someone weak they would run off back to full health and there was nothing u could do. Really loved the concept and idea of the game tho
I'm sad to see the game go. The crown, ring decay, and twitch events were brilliant. I hope other BR’s adopt those features

Its upsetting that this game didn't grow. The main problem with it tho is that they wasn't anything new that been added, if only they changed the map just a little
They actually changed the map a few times in their new seasons, but it still wasn't enough unfortunately!

@@YaLadMitch it had a too high ceiling for new players , the controls were better suited at launch for pc players , and there were some unwanted changes to health gen which turned off some players and then the weapon updates made the players that did stay go somewhere else and of course no more seasons
i was really hyped up for this game recently, having hope & believing in it to make a come back it's just sad how i recently started playing it again and having hope just for this announcement to come about 1 week or 2 weeks after i began playing & enjoying it again. RIP Hyperscape, You Will Be Missed, Forever & Always.

The constant looting in the same stairwell’s along with horrible aim assist settings for controller killed this game for me.
Top 10 favorite game. Played it since season 1. Favorite load out is the protocol v and the harpy. It’s a shame it shut down as it was easily one of my favorite games.
i completely blame this on ubi, they didnt advertise the property, they didnt put in the work or as much work as they could of(especially considering siege and some of the risks ubi has taken in the past) and they just let it die

It's actually really sad. I have to say I played hyper scape ever since it launched I saw it when it said it was going offline I was very sad but all games will come to a end it has to be in my heart one of my favorite BR game

I dont remember much but i played maybe 20 matches and almost won a match but one of the abilities was a Ball, and if i remember it was indistructable and the guy that gott the crown (or whatever) had the ball and i was so mad and never played again after that.
This had potential but im assuming the powers annoyed most players, i could be wrong though.

So sad, I play this Game since the close Beta and I love it. Ubisoft can make so much with this Game, but the do nothing, very sad. I think it was hard for hyperscape to grow up with valorant on the other side at the same time. I hope the bring this Game again out in few years.

i think one of the main problems in this game for me was the time to kill, it felt like it just took too long to kill another player, especially with all the abilities allowing them to run away constantly
You need to utilize more of the abilities. It only takes a long time to kill them if you dont hit shots/passive play style.

They literally copied Apex legends even the weapons
All they need to do was reduce the health to normal 100 an just add some kind of shield system in the game. Like how apex has a lvl 4 shield etc. but you just have to find the armour an you use special crystals to restore your shield
