I bought the KPY hoping for excellent results. Unfortunetly the Synapse 4 software will not save manual exposure settings to the camera correctly. Synapse is the only way I know of to change KPU camera settings. Synapse does not support taking videos or pictures directly. Synapse must be used to adjust camera settings and save them to the KPU. Then Synapse must be closed prior to opening your camera app of choice. If Synapse can't save settings, the camera is a brick. Too bad. Great specs. Terrible software. (Of course, you might be happy with OOTB auto settings, in which case no settings ever need to be changed. In that case, the KPY might be for you!)
Excellent work! Could you do a webcam comparison between the Kiyo Pro Ultra and an iPhone 14 Pro using Continuity Camera? The iPhone rear cameras and hardware and software processing are so good nowadays that it would be cool to see how they hold up against a high-end dedicated webcam.
Sorry for the delay, Joanna. I wanted to check the box from the Kiyo Pro Ultra one more time to make sure it didn't include the adapter. If your computer only has USB-C, then you'll need a USB-A to USB-C adapter - these are only $3-5 on amazon and even the budget ones work and support 4K outputs in my tests. If you already have a USB-A port, then you're fine. Just make sure that it is at least USB 3 or better spec in terms of bandwidth - most modern computers less than 5 years old won't have lower spec USB-A, but sometimes USB-A splitters and hubs if they are older will downgrade speeds to USB-A.
There wasn't any stuttering in real time. It may have been something in post. I realized I recorded at 60fps, but produced at 30, so that might have caused stutter, too.
The image is still better than the Facecam. I haven't tried the Pro, but it's sensor is smaller 1/1.8, even though it does 4k 60. I would personally buy a used Sony a5100, capture card and dummy battery for around $300, but I also have a high tech pain threshold. Its 1080p 60fps still blows all webcams away IMHO

Do you mean Sony ZV-E10? The Sony is far superior to the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra, but you also need a capture card to get 1080p60 or 4K30 from it, as well as a dummy battery ideally.
Can someone tell me i using kyo , last time i put it to 4k resolution 3,840 x 2,16, but now i have only 1980x1020 open? why i dont have any options now
Are you sure it's the same USB cable? Sometimes the bandwidth isn't high enough via the cable or port and it forces lower scale. Logitech BRIO does this, too, at 4K.
I have a Canon G7X laying in a drawer becuase battery only lasts 30 mins and take forevder to charge, it can only film for 30 mins reagrdless, file size it produces are too big for daily vlogging, autofocus is mentally slow, zoom is stupid slow. Could I use this as a webcam and would it be better than the Kiyo Pro? I assume the autofocus issue will reamin with the G7x though as a webcam too?
@@hergusonfelix9737 the G7 will likely produce a much better image than the Kiyo Pro or Kiyo Pro Ultra, with more dynamic range. That said and as you're eluding to, the workflow is likely faster from the webcam if you're shooting videos at your desk. So it might be worth taking the quality hit. Does the G7 time out at 30 minutes even when you're not recording? If not, I'd get a dummy battery and capture card and use it as a webcam. That's how I run my Sony cameras

I found my problem after the fact (after feedback in the comments). OBS was set to 30fps recording, but I was taking in 60fps. I never set OBS to 30, so I'm guessing it happened during an update.
@@cristianbrolo6448 there are a few cheap manual focus e-mount lenses for less than $70, I prefer the 24-28mm with F1.8 for blurry background. For autofocus , I'm loving my Viltrox 23mm F1.4 lens ($300-400)
Be careful with razer webcams especially the Kiyo that unexpectedly stop working and the support does not give you any solution. Unbelievable that a $200 webcam that is under warranty is not able to help you.

Your fullsize-image is stuttering a lot. Does not looks as good as the elgato facecam you have tested a while ago.

The Razer Synapse software does not appear to have a macOS compatible version.

framerates looks really low on the webcam, was your PC struggling on the uncompressed stream from the Pro Ultra?

I see no any quality, expected for FullHD. Just same sht we had in "just HD" cams.

I don't usually. What wireless cameras are you considering? If they are affordable, I'd give one or two a chance. I buy the gear I review as a hobby.
