It looks like we've finally made it to a point where webcams can have quality that competes with Mirrorless or DSLR Cameras. Would you buy this over a more expensive option for your content?
Yes 🙌 because it’s affordable and it also depends on what kind of content creations you are making ,Like for gaming it’s top notch and won’t run your pockets with ridiculous prices as a beginner, because you have to buy the capture card and the mini hdmi to HDMI the stand the lights and the whole kit it makes more sense 😊
I'm enjoying your channel. I'm a new sub who currently uses the Logi C920 & C922. I'm perfectly happy with the cams, but I'm always looking for better. I've been looking at the Razer Kiyo Pro for awhile. I fully agree about removing the mics on the webcams; even your basic $50 (As of this writing) Blue Snowball sounds better. Thank you Joe.
Thanks Mike for the kind words. Yeah there are some great webcams out there now. The Facecam and Facecam Pro don't have mics on them (well the facecam for sure) and it's just saving space and money. When you are looking to make the jump, you'll have some great options

I didn't know you had access to this hell of a webcam!! Missed this video, duuuude I'm so happy that you could had it in your hands and test it... I mean, it will never be a DSLR but for the price and conveniance of use this thing worths every cent of it. Too bad we can't get it in Argentina :C
I have this cam and yes, sometimes there is no option for 4K. What works for me - connect to active usb hub with external power and connect to usb3.0. It is still occasionally drops the 4K option but detaching the camera cable and connecting it again usually helps. Razer builds awesome products but their software SUCKS!
Hi Joe, I actually had the same issue as yourself (also have the Pro Ultra) when it was only 1080p. You have to connect it to a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, I had mine connected to a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, majority of motherboards currently only have 2 or 3 Gen 2, while all other USB are Gen 1. Not sure if that is your issue but this got me my 4k 30fps.
@@joefindlay7449 Did you ever figure out the 4k issue? Was it just the port being the issue? I bought this cam and waiting for it to be delivered. Funny thing is... its stuck in customs and I was told by Razer support this is normal? Mine was shipped from Hong Kong, how about you?
@Progz we believe that i may have had too many devices going on the PC or that one of the ports was meant to be USB 3.1 had an issue. I gave the camera back to CGM and i no longer have that PC... As far as I know they have it working at CGM. Razer may be shipping right from the manufacturer so that can be the reason for your issue. I got mine before they were released so that is a different story
The new Osbot tiny 2, has a larger sensor not sure how it compares but would be a cool video comparison. Additionally I am the bananas teleconferencer 😂 dealing w customers it makes a better impact and better presentation having obviously higher quality audio and visuals.
I agree, since really the only big change is the sensor, but what we are getting with something like this or a Facecam Pro is an option that lies between the previous models of webcam and the gigantic leap in price that gets us to a mirrorless. It's all about finding that balance between money and quality for ach creator.
No I was hooked in directly using their cable. Went through troubleshooting with them forever but returned the camera to CGM who I reviewed the camera for before we resolved it
PLEASE!!!! Have you found a fix for the 4K option not being present in the Processing tab in Razer Synapse I have updated everything and repaired the installed app while working with razer technical support but even they haven't gotten back to me..
The only problem with mine was an issue with the cable. It wasn't transferring enough data across to offer the 4K. If you aren't using their cable, use it. If you are, try to find another cable with the same capabilities.
Hey Joe, i hv ZV1, Kiyo Pro Ultra looks good at least for a webcam. Color & bg blur looks nice too. Do you still use it? Hows the software, autofocus & 4K issues?
I have a Sony A7iii that is my main camera, so I don't typically stick with any webcam. The 4K issue was an issue with my cable which was resolved after the video came out. Autofocus is a sore spot for most webcams with that constant searching/breathing, but enough have a decent enough depth of field that, if you are staying on one spot while on camera, you are safe to use manual focus to avoid that.
First camera I'm using for a business conference I'm doing on a budget.(If it arrives in time..March 31st is the conference and shipping day will be march 23rd, hope it arrives!) beats any of the higher end options that I saw and gives me a semi-professional look for the conference stream.
@@MiscastJoe I do have quite a bit of philips hue lights/strips around my area so I'm hoping that'll be enough but I may have to get a key light or ring light?
@Ryan Grant maybe not depending on the lights' proximity to your face. Just make sure whatever you are using that you have nice even light on your face. The ISO on Synapse should help accommodate you from there
Do you know if this has an option for FOV...The Kiyo Pro had that option to go wider in the angle angle and I don't see that option on the Kiyo Pro Ulta

Hi there. I find that the colour accuracy on this camera is quite good. If you want to hop on my discord (link in description) you'll find other people who have had some experience with the razer Kiyo line of cameras while painting on stream and they can share their experiences too
I like the Elgato more than this one but for any exercise content or content where you aren't right near the camera, I'd recommend the Insta360 Link or the OBSBOT Tiny 2 because of their ability to better frame you up as you move around. Check out my videos on those to see if those would serve you well
I need a webcam for a communicator to see around because of my disability. I move around on a ambulance stretcher. I need a sturdy quality cam, that has a good zoom and works in different lighting conditions. This looks pretty good, can´t decide between this or OBSBOT Tiny 2. Image quality is great in Kiyo, it looks really sturdy and you can protect the lens easily and attach it to a support arm. But software seems really unstable. OBSBOT has obvious upside that I can move it myself. But could brake when in transit because it´s size and you can´t cover it(you would have to remove it during transit). Can you attach it to a support arm easily like Kiyo Ultra? Planning to start making vlogs also in near future and film on trips if possible. Would get both if I could, but need to choose one. I could use help to choose best for me. Open to other suggestions as well.
Well the Tiny 2 has a 1/4" thread for tripod or arm mounting plus its monitor mount is magnetic and very strong. Not knowing a ton about your disability, I would still suggest that it may be your best option. The Kiyo Pro Ultra is a better quality camera, but would indeed be a bigger pain when it comes to controlling it via software. Feel free to join my discord if you want to go into more discussion on this and other options
@@MiscastJoe So I can attach Obsbot 2 to a support arm? That is great news. I use a Lenovo X13 Yoga tablet computer with Windows 10 that has Tobii Eye Sensor. @Evgeniy_Kolomyec a proper USB 3 A-C or any thick USB-C to USB-C should work, but the cable that it comes with plugged into a USB 3 port should work no problem
I agree. I also think it is true of every autofocus outside of a sony microelectronics. Set your focus manually and the depth of field should be sufficient to keep you from wandering out of it
@@MiscastJoe yeah I agree. Focus plane is just wide enough to work. I don’t know if its worth 300 bucks though. This camera is crap. No drivers from Mac’s that don’t have M chip. What were they thinking. Shame. Good design but made redundant without software that makes it work.
In fairness, making software that is backwards compatible isn't as easy or as cheap as one might think and the M chips are 4 years old. That covers a pretty massive percentage of Apple users at this point.
