We visit the seaside holiday town of Sheringham in Norfolk for a walking tour of Sheringham East, a station on the North Norfolk Railways, a heritage railway that takes you back in time to the magnificent time of steam trains.
This was our first time exploring the train station here at Sheringham and our first time seeing a steam train leaving the railway station platform so we were really happy to get up close to this fantastic steam engine.
From the lovely Victorian seaside resort of Sheringham to the Georgian town of Holt, the North Norfolk Railway runs through the county’s most stunning coastal scenery. Operated almost entirely by Volunteers from all walks of life, the line is East Anglia’s premier heritage railway.
Trains run along the line from Sheringham to Holt regularly and it's a fantastic way to see the coast of Norfolk and East Anglia from the comfort of a steam train carriage.

Visiting the line last weekend I was very impressed. Very friendly volunteers looking after the line with a decent selection of rolling stock. My daughter has just moved to Sheringham from London and sitting on her balcony you can watch the engines pulling out of Sheringham.

It's been about 6 years since myself and the family travelled on The Poopy Line, very memorable and enjoyable,Holt too is a very nice place to visit.
15/6 22 Think the engine was built post war after Nationalisation. Saw a few during my spotter years - don't remember that polished copper discharge pipe though, they were used mainly to haul freight. Notice the ornate canopy brackets above the platform at the beginning ? Engine, rolling stock, track, all Made in Britian !
