Nice Review, good job. I just got out of my WRX and bought this model Jetta. I wanted something more comfortable and less of an attention getter. The Jetta 1.4T is spunky and to my surprise responsive, power is fine. I test drove it and the Civic and found the Jetta to feel like it had more available power, quieter inside and more comfortable. It was between the Jetta, Civic Mazda3, Focus and Forte. I chose the Jetta. Negatives Here are some points that i did not love. seat material especially the black is a pet hair magnet. The headlights have to be switched on and off they will not turn off when you stop and vacate the car. No rear cup holders except in the doors. Positives. Handles nice, great gas mileage, quiet inside, smooth on the road. The Infotainment system sounds great and is very nicely designed. Inexpensive.
I have a 06 impreza outback sport and had the gaskets replaced 3 or 4 years ago. low and behold 30 k later they are leaking again. my dad had a 11 forester that ate oil like crazy and filed a claim in the lawsuit against subaru and won. we have always had subarus but I'm looking into buying a jetta since subaru seems to be having issues in the last decade
The center display monitor aught to be located on top of the dash board. The placement of the display panel is of no good. I wonder how the suspension feel.
You guys get the really basic model in the US. In my country ours come with either 16"/17" rims, automatic climate control, touchscreen ,sunroof, infotainment system. 7 Speed DSG transmission, 1.4tsi (turbo, supercharged engine) 170hp/180 lb/ft
I love mine but if you need to replace something might want to leave it to the professionals. They were going to charge me 150 bucks to change running lights..1 1/2 hr labor charge if that tells you anything about how theses cars are made. Great cars though. Love my turbo!
Im thinking of getting a VW TDI, I haven't been able to find one online with the Diesel option. Im located in Dallas/ Fort Worth, and so far I like the reviews on the 1.4T but cant find the 0-60 performance. Do you do performance reviews also?
I'm pretty the tdi diesel option is currently not allowed since they lied about the emissions, so the EPA banned them from being sold in the US until the issue is fixed
Brother don't bother with the TDI. My 1.4 turbo gets the same fuel economy as a diesel. I have a 5-speed manual and drive it very normally, if not quickly. I get nearly a thousand kilometres on a tank of gas. TDI is on its way out. 1.4 turbo is the way to go
This Jetta 2016 looks like modern sedan on the outside. However, on the inside it's really outdated and cheap. :( I liked the Jetta up to the point that the video got to the interior.
Anyone know how good the bass is? silly question but i like to bump music in my car and am wondering if i need to look into purchasing third party speakers/subwoofers
hey Mike can you make a video of the mini cooper paceman 2015 in the day also at night thanks Mike hope you reed this if you do thank you looking forward to seeing it :)
I used to talk about how the car was inundated with ostentatious embellishments resulting in a mellifluously Palpable atmosphere... however people didn't know what I was talking about.
+letsgocapsbeatpens supposedly 1 second slower from something I remember reading recently. In my opion just i little more turbo lag but it feels very comparable.
+Kenneth Wiley I ended up buying the 1.4T, I was looking at the golf with the 1.8T and there wasn't a huge difference in power. Plus the 1.4T gets great gas mileage, I'm getting about 35-37 MPG mixed city and highway. The 1.8T had a little better acceleration at highway speeds, but that was it.
Brad I traded it in, it wasn’t a bad car, but had typical VW software/reliability issues. The backup camera sometimes would not come on, the media/touch screen would randomly shut off, the AC wouldn’t blow cold air (and when it did blow cold air, it was barely enough to keep the cabin cool during humid summers), etc.
OMG THANKS i had NEVER realized there was a little hole to place the gas cap on while putting fuel in the tank! haha i feel so stupid now for removing the cap carefully and putting it down without scratching my paint.. LOL
But it is such a shame to have an automatic instead of manual shift gear... I feel like a manual allows you to have more control over the acceleration and a more sporty drive style, especially with the turbo since you can wait to switch gear until your RPM has reached a higher level... but that's just my opinion i love my car so much
Nice informative video. Not sure all the praise is warranted but if you really like it fair enough. Personally I'm not sure why you'd pick this out of the competition. Civic is better by almost all standards, corolla will last forever, Mazda is more fun to drive... etc. What is it I'm missing? Realizability and maintenance would deter me alone. Not sure what someone is drawn to about these??? Just to be different?
lounge2fly2 i had a corolla and they are pretty dull, went to a mazda 3 and they feel nimble but not really comfy nor reliable, (tranny went out at 14k miles), both new; just bought one of these manual (preowned) and it handles better, feels comfy, more space, better gas mileage, torque is awesome and looks modern. Only complains so far are trying to change the DRL bulbs, the steel wheels with hubcaps (which I changed with a new set of two-tone 16” alloy wheels I picked up on Craigslist for $300 with tires) and no backup camera ☹️ other than that it’s an awesome little car for the money. Oh and by the way service is better at the vw dealers than Mazda or Toyota.
I'm not completely sure if S simply means Standard or not but it isn't "Sport". There is a 1.8 Sport Jetta that has a sport mode transmission and sport suspension. The 1.4 S doesn't have any of those features so it isn't "sport"
Correction: The automatic 1.4 S does have a "sport mode" transmission. But doesn't have the sport suspension, spoiler, alloys etc. that make the 1.8 Sport and actual "Sport"
Whitefeather008 I have gotten 65 mpg on several trips and in imperial gallons as you point out. I lived in in Canada in my formative years, and still convert everything into imperial units.
Nice Review, good job.

Really enjoying my Jetta Mike. Take one for a test drive.
Could’ve bought the SEL instead of the lower trim with cloth seats. One of the reasons why I am going to avoid fabric seats on my first car purchase.
The plastic wheel covers are the only negative
I just picked up a mint SE w/20K miles, push button start, alloy wheels, heated seats, manual trans for $13K. So far so good...
I love it even though it doesn’t have the most advanced technology for the year I still think it’s a good looking car.
Just bought one today :)
whats your opinion on the car?
Great car over all. No complaints. Peppy. Great in gas. Great warranty
thank you, very much appreciated !!
i'm same today! but later of 2 years lol
Chris Lamarche just bought mine today
You're a very concise reviewer, excellent work.
This will be my first vehicle!! Nice job bro.
these new Jettas are great cars , great performance vs GAS cost ratio , this car will last many years if properly maintained without hick up
Mike, Jetta trails behind Golf as far as interior design. Most of these dashboard details were once used in Golf, now in Jetta.
Why do people think the interior is bad? It looks great for the price.
Just got mines today ! Super fast
Hello, how is your jetta doing? Thinking of getting one at 118k miles, what do you think?
It's a great car - Ive been driving one for almost a year now, European edition tough - much better equipped but manual :)
I have one and it’s awesome! No problem what so ever! 👊👊👏👏🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Ah finally a review of VW :D
Great video mike I’m buying mine tomorrow after work 🛣👍🏽
mike you awesome at reviewing
Thanks Kelvin! I really appreciate your kind words. :)
Damn it.. I have a 2015 but i like the darker tailights on the 2016. How can i change it???
Mike
Which is the best this car or Lancer EX SAME EDITION 2016???
I LIVE IN SUDAN
TOO HOT ATMOSPHERE
The center display monitor aught to be located on top of the dash board. The placement of the display panel is of no good. I wonder how the suspension feel.
What do you like better, 1.4t or 1.8t and why?
They have got the same torque so better go for 1.4

So you don't have trim levels or options? You just have one car with everything?
You either get the option for rim size and if you want a sunroof or not. Other than that, they all come more or less the same.
Here we have 6 models with increasing options in each one. The S model like the one in this video is the lowest trim level available.
does any of the models come with the 1.4 twin charged engine?
No they just offer a bigger engine.
Со всех обзоров 1.4 турбо самый информативный!!!
can you do a quick review on the jetta 1.8t Sport please
Excellent Jetta and video!!!!!! 😉
What's the MPG for this car
is this car good in fuel economy if its 1.4L engine? and does this car look good?
I get almost 1000km per tank with a 5 and manual. Excellent fuel economy
I love mine but if you need to replace something might want to leave it to the professionals. They were going to charge me 150 bucks to change running lights..1 1/2 hr labor charge if that tells you anything about how theses cars are made. Great cars though. Love my turbo!
Does this car run on regular or premium?
Can run on regular gas
Great review. When you get the opportunity, please do a review of the 2016 Ford Explorer limited with the 303a package. Thanks!
Mike your a legend
How do the speakers sound? I like to blast music and does it have good base? Thinking about getting one
The speakers get really loud and you can adjust the bass and treble
There’s an option to have the sound centered to the middle of the car to the back speakers or to the front
Speakers are shit. Upgrade
Great reliable car
Does a rear view camera come standard on this trim?
you need to get the technology package on the s model
Got one Saturday I like it so far. has anyone had any problems with one yet? Mine has 74,000 miles on it but it seems to be in pretty good condition
Ewokis Amokis hows it going with your car

A manual transaxle doesn't seem to be available :(
+hetouahta htneuohtnueo yes there is
My mom just got the 2016 vw jetta s
Marcus Borden hey man I wanted to ask how’s the car after all these years is it still good?
Does this s model have reverse camera
This Jetta 2016 looks like modern sedan on the outside. However, on the inside it's really outdated and cheap. :( I liked the Jetta up to the point that the video got to the interior.
brandon alcantara Yea just got one today renting it from hertz for Lyft the inside feels like a car from 5-7 years ago outside looks ok
great video review man
Anyone know how good the bass is? silly question but i like to bump music in my car and am wondering if i need to look into purchasing third party speakers/subwoofers
It is fairly average for a factory radio.
Before I buy, can anybody tell me the cost of maintaining this particular car?
I have a 2016. Put 45000 on it so far. Nothing but oil and gas my friend
Apple play or no?
I believe so
How I can see the oil% life!
How are you not going to drive it though? Ultimate in-depth review- should entail actually driving it, no?
Read the title of the video.
hey Mike can you make a video of the mini cooper paceman 2015 in the day also at night thanks Mike hope you reed this if you do thank you looking forward to seeing it :)
Just got one
Carmen Newman how’s the car so far
Taye T. Akinde love it
Carmen Newman I’m happy for you man
does it have Android Auto?
george jesson yes
Apply play?
Mileage sir in Diesel engine
Diesel gets the same as the 1.4T. Gas engine kills the TDI. Don't waste the money and time. I have one
i want this car :o
yet good car for today...
Super ??? is this naction....
Thanks for the review but please use other adj. other than so much of "neat" and "cool".
I used to talk about how the car was inundated with ostentatious embellishments resulting in a mellifluously Palpable atmosphere... however people didn't know what I was talking about.
@@MikesCarInfo naaw u say whatever u feel is comfortable for u!
What is the 0-60 in this car? I am curious how much slower it is compared to the 1.8T in the Sport.
+letsgocapsbeatpens supposedly 1 second slower from something I remember reading recently. In my opion just i little more turbo lag but it feels very comparable.
+Kenneth Wiley

exactly what i feel
After 30,000 miles with a 1.4 turbo/5M - per Fuelly.com - my MPG is just under 41................
Dam so really old comments lol this is the BASE model , want luxury get the top trim lol duuuuhh
VW !!!---DEPTH IN 4 K !!!

Toyota is garbage, boring, no performance, no handling. This jetta has a turbo.. it’s really quick and fun to drive.
The S doesn't mean "Sports Mode"
Go on....

Is it just me or is it a lot like the 2011 Volkswagen
depth in 4 K !!!
This can't be 2016
It is
Nice car if you can get one $14k
hey look its an audi
reminds me of camaro
How?
My 2013 TDI gets 65 miles to the gallon and is far less polluting than this overworked little gasoline motor.
You don't get 65 MPG, maybe in UK gallons if you're lucky. This is coming from a fellow TDI owner.
Whitefeather008 I have gotten 65 mpg on several trips and in imperial gallons as you point out. I lived in in Canada in my formative years, and still convert everything into imperial units.
]xdd
Basic
VWs are so dull
it's a base model
Miguel Ascencio higher trims are dull as well
It's not a luxury car
Robert Steed yup its a pos
I know this is 4 years old but every car in this class is going to be dull. Lmao. The fuck did you expect? A Rolls Royce?
Damn it.. I have a 2015 but i like the darker tailights on the 2016. How can i change it???
