@@SirCanuckelheadmaybe I’ll start looking at it as its own thing as opposed to an interruption to my gameplay. Might make it more palatable. Always feel like I cannot skip days and just play the crusade or else some bad thing will happen with my campaign.
A powerful build for an evil witch, there is alternative if you want to play a good witch. Go for Azata as a blaster caster witch, protected by even more companions by having Aivu as an extra. Overall this witch archetype is really strong.
I am thinking of something like this but then taking the late game Dragon switch. It could give me an excuse to keep doing crimes as a Gold Dragon, as I think there is a Corrupted Dragon ending. You'd still have your Hag Gramma whispering dark temptations into your ear and that fool Hal would keep falling for her lies saying you are just a misguided child XD
Man, you've got me pining for WOTR again. And I haven't done lich yet! Question (for anyone basically): I always struggled with finding a good party for a lich run (especially tank wise). Who would you recommend for this build?
I make a full party of dhampir mercenaries in addition to making the MC a dhampir. It allows you to use the dance macabre channel negative energy to heal your whole party and damage enemies from very early on. Also a court poet, full caster party is really fun with lich because the lich gives the whole party bonuss caster level, not good for unfair but super fun on normal or core difficulty.
Court poet with one level in Cha monk could be a very good tank. You can make him destruction shout specialist - he will stun everyone for ages screaming, and he'll have a good AC too.
Lich is one of my favorites, I really love Necromancy! Merged Liches have an easy time with party members, because you have the Blessing of Unlife spell at level 7 that grants all Undead immunities & Affinity to even living party members like Daeran, Seelah and so on. I frankly just keep most of my party as living (but with that buff) and only bother with Kestoglyr and Ciar as far as the actual undead companions.
How does the Hag pet interact with the items that give spells - like Ring of Boreal might? Since she casts at will, does the game view her as a "spontaneous caster" and add the spells to her "list"?
I played a Hag bound witch my first run and really enjoyed it . I never made it past chapter 3 because I enjoy playing different builds too much and Bg 3 came out where im doing the exact same thing .
That’s ashame the best part of the game is chapter 4 the demon city absolutely amazing. You need to go further bro and check it out you won’t disappoint. But yes I think we all suffer from restarts and it drives me insane lol
I absolutely love your build vidoes. I do have to ask, have you ever considered using the Toybox mod to create gestalt builds? I would love to see how you create some interesting builds. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing your take on the other, newly released archetypes!
biggest frustrations with this build are a) without dipping into sorceror, you're literally useless against undead - not a single one of your spells does anything substantial to them, and there are a LOT of undead encounters early game b) all the spells you take are aoe reflex & fortitude checks, so without taking selective spells, you're going to be doing more damage to your frontliners than the enemy early on. you're much better off taking selective metamagic feats. c) not taking iceplant early on means your AC is basically nothing early on, meaning your character will be getting one-shotted in most encounters that follow up on a cutscene (as, for whatever reason, Owlcat decided that the main character gets targeted by all mobs in the first round of combat if the combat follows a cutscene)
Winter's Grasp is very good against undead, and nearly all of them aren't flying. Also you get the healing spells which you can use to damage undead, and you also get a hex that kills undead. And of course you need to take selective spell, most AoE controllers use that. And iceplant isn't the thing that's going to save you when you build as a squishy caster in the first place.
Is it worth to have a Skald or a Bard to support such witch main? Or maybe go with melee team and have Skald rage them all (after all hag companion can be melee right?) this is INT based build so I guess court poet is of little use
Could a Trickster Shadow Caster work? I'm been thinking of trying to run illusion based trickster wizard for long time (smoothing it out with SpellbookMerge mod) and it seems the new archetype could work well with Trickster.
It certainly can! But Trickster is somewhat lacking for spellcasters outside of extra Ray Damage through better Crits, or more casts through Completely Normal Metamagic.
@@cRPGBroI found an interesting combo, sadly, it only exist due to the nature of the mod. If you combine the Completely Normal Metamagic, which is useful by itself, with Persistent Metamagic you can get Weird to fill out your empty 10th level slot along with becoming persistent. (Unmodded same effect could be achieved by investing a mythic ability to favorite Persistant Metamagic) Also using the world mythic trick will ensure your shadows will never turn against you at a certain level. All in all, while it was interesting to test out, it's most likely better in general to use either Demon or Lich mythic path.
I would take protective luck early on instead of left to Camellia on Higher difficulty as shaman chant won't extend it anymore. Stinking Cloud is great on act1-act2. but at early act3 it DC is kinda too low on unfair
thanks a lot for your build, even if I didn't really understand why the 1 level in geomancer. But something I find harder to build in this game is team composition, what would you advise for a team with this build as MC, if you can respect totally all the undead companions, and be a bit different than the usual team comp you advice in your video about companions (which help me a lot) I was thinking about something like : Staunton respect as a shieldbearer ( because I love this class and it's a good tank) Kestoglyr respected as one of the magus Ciar as a court poet (buff and sonic blaster nice for cc) Delamere caster for blast and undead summon And adding an oracle mercenary for buff heal and undead summons. Not sure if it's a good idea or will even work, i only play in core. and I agree with some of the comment saying they are sad you do less Pathfinder content, while I understand, your guides and builds ... is what make me love this game.
Level 1 Geomancer is for its special ability that adds +1d6 x Spell Level extra damage on casts! This way you can have around +18d6 (with a level 9 spell and Quicken Spell for 2 spells/round) added on top of your spell damage. For a Lich Party, remember you can still use living allies just fine (and I find most of them to be better besides Ciar & Kestoglyr), after all, merged Liches have a lot of slots for the Blessing of Unlife spell that makes living allies count as undead for most purposes (but not the Lich stat buff).

The problem with kinetic knight is the trade off of metamagic for armor feats which is really bad and a base kineticist is better. Azata doesn't have much for kinetic knight aside from incredible might and share teamwork feats.
Well. Kinetic Knight does trade in a lot for their features, but considering the new mythic armor feats, specifically the medium armor one that lets you put your CON into your AC, it might be worth checking out.
My main issue with Kinetic Knight is that sadly it's a big downgrade over normal Kineticist especially for damage, and normal Kineticist can also get Kinetic Blade and so on.

Legend isn't the best for spellcasters, it's a lot better suited for Martial characters. But I think Cleric & Mystic Theurge can be great fun though for multiple Spellbooks. Or you can go for more melee power with something like Mutation Warrior & Demonslayer, as you already have the best spells anyways. Skald & Court Poet would also highly increase your spell DC, same for allies and even the Hag's.
Trickster could give you a wizard spell book, 4 cleric domains, and the strongest attack spells in the game. (rain of halberds and ray of halberds trigger sneak attack) Or Aeon if you are modding out alignment requirements. Passively increase spell and hex Dc of your whole party by 4 (hag included), with one gaze, while making it impossible for the enemy to roll above a 15, and your party under an 8 with another. Or caster level+4 to the whole party so everyone gets 24 hour 1 /level spells with another.
