Ford has long since been known for not painting bare steel components. Back when Henry was alive a dealer in San Francisco complained about the steering shaft oxidizing in the salt air. Ford said that the shaft was left bare allowing people to see the quality of materials used. 'Look at the beautiful rust' was pretty much the sarcastic rebuttal.
No other reviewer I’ve seen does as much info dumping as Sarah. She has a Cat 798 AC dumping info where most other reviewers only give a Tonka truck worth of info. And she makes it entertaining, like construction rodeos where large front loaders are doing wheelies.
I saw a Maverick towing a boat this weekend and at first I was like no way it can tow that, I guess with the 4K towing package it should be ok. Another great review.
You're a powerful entertainer. I'm happy you worked with Roman all those years ago. That's when you appeared on my screen and I've been here ever since.
I love my FWD Maverick XLT but I’m with you Sarah Ford needs to build a Maverick RS with a manual, I’d be all over that in a heartbeat! Love your channel Sarah!
Great review, Sarah. Your off-road course looks fun and very challenging. Every time the little red hand flies off the stick, I laugh out loud. Keep doing what you're doing. I love it!
Thank you for specifying the tow rating. It was foolish of Ford to not put the 4k rating on the tremor package. They could have designed the cooling to work with the valances or vice versa.
This is probably the first channel l have subbed after a single video. Great balance of technical, real world driving tests, without being overly dry, the opinions seem very honest and straightforward, I will be checking out more of your reviews, thanks for such a great video. Also the pointer on the lift was great, best views under a car with explanation I have seen with nothing in the way.
I know a regular cab Maverick would have a microscopic profit margin, but I bet Ford would sell every one they could build to delivery fleets and contractors.
Yeah, I can’t help but believe that a FWD economical pickup with a longer bed would have a big market segment to itself for people who actually use a truck as a, well, truck. As a unibody, however, I wonder how it would be from a structural standpoint with a smaller cockpit and long open bed. The crazy part is that this Maverick doesn’t actually seem that small. Back in the day I had an early 1990’s S10 extended cab and it seems to have have been smaller and lower than this.
@@stevelovescars parking in big cities is becoming more of a hassle because most spaces are for subcompacts. I travel into Boston and this will go where a full size can't and still be able to carry a full 4x8 sheet.
Sarah, i appreciate the review and off road terrain test drive of the Maverick Tremor. your comparisons to Fords competitors in this segment is helpful. your channel offers so much value and attention to detail.
I've had really bad luck with Fords, otherwise the Maverick would have been at the top of my list when I was shopping for a new vehicle this last Spring. Not a fan of the el cheapo looking interior and lack of lumber support though.
I agree with you about cost and the seat. I was thinking about buying one when they started at 20,000. But I really didn’t like the fact it didn’t have lumbar support. I wish I knew then what I know now. Thanks for the great video!!
Have a 22 FX4 that I ordered from factory when they were first made available. So far, the only issue ive had with it was a bad fuse to the digital portion of the gauge cluster. Having the 4k was important, so trading to a Tremor just wasn't in the cards. Ive ripped mine offroad and the canyons near my house and it's just as fun as my project car. The base warranty is up in a couple months and then a ton and a couple aftermarket things will be added
Hey! I always stop everything when a new Sarah video pops up. Thank you so much for your content as I love your energy and humor and what you tackle alone is remarkable. A thought: I recently got rid of a 2016 Canyon with the diesel which sucked my wallet dry the whole time I owned it and bought a 2024 Santa Cruz. It has the turbo, a small but useful bed, tons of bells and whistles, tows 5000# effortlessly, and gets over 30 mpg on the highway. Plus the best warranty in the industry. It would be interesting for you to compare the Maverick with the Santa Cruz as they have been rated equally by at least one car review. Thanks for all you do. ❤
I’m 53 and can relate to what you said. I like simple cars. However, it’s consumers that drive the trends. ..especially the 18-25 crowd that loves tech. Everyone wants the bells and whistles. Scroll down these comments and you’ll find people here calling for a “Raptor” version of this truck. Which means more $$$
@@frankleespeaking9519 Yup. Folks like us have to buy used older vehicles. I couldn't care less about infotainments and all the driver assist tech. I use my mirrors and driving skills. @@frankleespeaking9519 naa, the marketers make up all that BS and never do any actual market research or theyd know nobody can afford these things without a 20 year payment plan. FYI on the storage bin in the bed, if you remove the bottom tray/shelf it increases the length to probably double. Most likely many remove the tray and can haul hitch receivers or chains. I think Ford wanted to insure they didn't abuse it because being plastic it can not handle the weight over 20lbs. Other than that i thought it was a nice video
Great review Sarah. Re. 17:40 "this is a super appealing type of vehicle that works well for most people", that's the reason 4x4 dual-cabs are one of the best selling vehicle segments here in Australia, with 9 brands represented (10 when Kia's new offering lands). In fact the Ford Ranger is the best selling vehicle in the country right now.
I recently found your channel and i really like it. Love how on the off road trail the truck is totally two tone. Blue and brown!! See if you can review the new Colorado bison! I love mine and it doesn’t really get a lot of notice.
Independent rear suspension is a win. Is the body rigid enough? Will the transmission be durable for serious off-road use? I am guessing only time will tell.
If the tremor could also get the 4k max tow package this would be a 10/10. If you only need to tow 2,000 pounds this looks like a great workhorse/fun car!

Hi enjoyed that Sarah, I haven’t commented before, but I’ve watched quite a few videos and I find them very well done makes you think about the right things in looking at a vehicle thank you will watch again Blake
I enjoyed this review. The truck looks very appealing inside and out. It's off-road capabilities are very impressive. If only I needed a truck... 🤔 Maybe it's time to re-review Bronco Sport which shares the same platform but is now powered by 1.5L Ecoboost (stupid name, never liked it).
Thank you for such detail. A catagory that would be nice is comfort. If and when you have to sit in the front and or back how many miles could you do it.
I was looking for a Maverick Tremor, ended up going with a Bronco Sport Badlands instead. Realized I need an enclosed cargo area for taking the cat camping.
I don't get why people who are not farmers or construction workers buy pickup trucks, especially with double cab. The cabin is small, the bed is short. I would consider a small single-cab long bed pickup, but this is neither here nor there.
oof, Angel, working the cameras on the highway to the danger zone of 110 degrees. Seriously, I would play nothing but Kenny Loggins if I owned a Maverick.
I sure hope you got Angel a nice big sno cone or ice cream after filming the rally stage. Not just an ST, an AWD PHEV version with AC outlets in the bed for work and fun.
We all know.... The oil and temp gauge on a Ford is a suggestion meter till it's close to the inevitable. As a former owner of a 3.0 Ranger and 5.0 F150. xD Now... I need to take a week to pull those unpainted parts on my Maverick now to paint. I live in the Rust Belt and they will disintegrate in the winter.

Once again Sarah throws C&D, Motortrend and Automobile magazine under the bus with her excellent reviews. Just keep on being Sarah, Sarah!
Providing information I would never know to look for, for example, why towing is only 2k. Thank you, Sarah, for the work you do on these videos.
