My knowledge of lash caps, retainers and locks just increased by 400%. Thanks.

It’s not expensive, some people can’t afford. This is an important point of difference.
I fall into the can’t afford category, however as a machinist I can see where the expense is. As an engine builder I can see the value.
    Thanks Steve!

Should try the old keeper to retainer for test....I was taught this years ago by a really smart guy....assemble retainer/keepers on the valve and pull/twist the retainer....at this point the retainer should be locked onto the keepers....and you can put the valve on the bench and the retainer will stay attached at the top of the valve because of interference fit with the keepers. The valve should also be locked and not rotate or there is BIG TROUBLE with the machining processes of the keepers....I’ve seen a few instances of BIG CAM Company hardware failing this simple test.....buyer beware!

That looks like it will give you better surface area for the roller running big lift?
Steve, what do you think about running titanium 7mm stems in the 3v Cleveland/Boss style heads? I'd make sure runout on the seat was at less than a 1000th, head flex is what I was thinking would kill it. Your lash cap deal is what made me think about that again. That setup would make me more comfortable running skinnies as well.

Is the sewer lid combo similar too the way gm does the ls9 valves?

Steve, what about the "freevalve" technology that Konigsee has come out with?

Wont lash cap make more noise...? Just a question.

In your motors what kind of oil pressure do you like to see. I am old school and its 10 psi per 1000 rpm. I have some buddys that race and they say thats not really correct. Ive watched various You Tubers like Cleetus Mc Farland and by the end of a run oil pressure is low and the motor lives, but nobody really will give an exact answer what is correct. Motors such as the 1973 Pontiac Super duty came from the factory with a 80 psi pump and I do know that takes horsepower to turn but what is best?

You shouldn't really need to go over 80/90psi.......if you do you probably have other issues.

Most of the passes where his is low is because the sump has been drained and pressure has dropped. The oil gets trapped in the heads due to windage. I had this issue a while back. My engine did last a very long time but eventually you do damage. ( I destroyed a thrust main and cracked a cap ). You either need more sump volume so it gets you to the end or a dry sump setup. I made a larger sump cause its cheaper. I run about 30lb oil pressure at idle and 70psi full noise. 1000hp 3800 v6.

Cleeter cooked the bearings in ruby because of that. They knew it was an issue, and it comes from the oil pan they're using. Rear pick-up, but all the oil goes to the front during decel when you pull the chutes and the pick-up goes dry.
They changed Leroy because they had that issue with him, and knew it was a matter of time with Ruby. I'd guess they're doing an accumulator setup when the motor gets back from Texas with fresh bearings.

I'm still listening because you seem calm, collected, and competent. But the video and lighting quality is so poor I cant see anything you are talking about. The lash cap and items are always in the shadow of your own hand and the camera is panned out way too far. Need better lighting and tighter pull ins (zooms) while holding the part steadier. You were constantly moving and fidgeting it back and forth so I could never focus on it or see it in the shadow. Thanks anyways though
