Thank you for so good films this and all. I am always looking forward for new films. We are so lucky to have you willingly sharing with us you experience. Grade job.
I absolutely love these breeding projects your posting for us to learn!!! I’m so hooked on them man!!! I still can’t wait to see the bettas and how beautiful they have become so far!!! Keep it up cuz this is fire!
Great video. We’ve use foam boxes to breed bettas for over 20 years and if I may, I’d like to mention that water will eventually soak through the foam. We use non-toxic paint to layer the inside to help retain water. Good luck everyone!
I'm on my first Betts hatch, 6 to 7 days in. I been supplementing bbs for vinegar eels. Only getting bbs every 36 hrs. Will the vinegar eels keep them sustained until they're big enough for real food?
Hey Nick isn’t it just crazy that you started your journey in your mams Breakfast Room and now you have your own business! Keep up the good work. We all learn so much from you! Thanks for that and a big hello from Germany😃
I sustained a significant injury in November of last year and been recovering from multiple surgeries. Your channel keeps me in good spirits and I really appreciate your passion for the hobby. Thanks Rich
This channel deserves more view and subscribers been watching from betta breeding year ago until today really helpful videos, they way he explain things make it easy to understand.
I LOVE these "how to breed" videos so much. You really make these tutorials actually simple (who would've said on a channel named like this) compared to other breeders who overcomplicate things or make them less easy to understand sometimes. Please don't ever stop doing these. Unless you of course run out of fish haha. Next time I'd like to see some more tricky egg scatterers, barbs or rasboras for example. I'm exactly that type of guy you mentioned - I always only ever bred livebearers and only now thanks to you I'm trying to get into egg laying fish!
Hi. Could you talk a bit more about the process of breeding the Danios? For instance, the KFS guy says that if you put them in a tank together when the females are plump, then the next day "at daylight" they will begin spawning. Yet it looks like he is using artificial lighting, and on top of that he places a lid over the foam box to keep them from jumping out. I don't recall him saying anything about using light timers if he is using artificial lights, or whether fluorescents or LEDSs are better. Do you feel the fish need to see natural sunlight to breed? Also, I never really hear the issue of inbreeding within any of the fish breeding videos, but can't help but think it would be very difficult to prevent. As fish buyers should we just assume that that type of thing is more or less going to occur within the hobby? I'd really like to hear your input on this if you have the time.
These breeding videos have been a very helpful resource for beginner breeders like myself, would love to see one on celestial pearl danios if you are up to making it!
I'm planning on getting some danios pretty soon; I've had plenty of experience keeping and breeding ricefish, but for some reason the common "boring" zebra danio has really caught my interest. I'm hoping to get some zebra danios in a few weeks, alongside gold ring and pearl (Albolineatus) danios, and this video should really help me when it comes time to try breeding them. Thanks for sharing your experience!
An absolutely FANTASTIC video! You have made the whole process so easy, clear, simple, affordable it's unbelievable. It's so professional it's an Academy Award video winner! This might be my favorite tropical fish video of all time.
I was also taught to use a wire screen about 1 inch from the bottom of the tank, but we were told to leave the fish in the net for 2 mornings. But, it does depend on the number of fish we wanted to grow out. Love your channel
Hi Nick, I love what you do and you have taught me so much being an Aussie kid I am very fortunate to have a great role model like you. I have been investing in pairs of fish and tanks and systems for keeping them and I am super excited because my angelfish just spawned for the first time and my Golden rams are looking like the will soon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for teaching me so much
Excellent video! It's highly encouraging and makes me what to give breeding danios a go. Plus, your way of explanation makes it so easy to follow. Thanks!
Loving ur video…. Ur method of breeding fishes is so detailed, well explained, honest n practical in every way…it definitely inspire us fish keepers Keep up the good work, mate. Hopefully u could turn this hobby into a profitable business of ur own one day soon
I used large river stones in my platy tank and my fry count increased at least 6fold. Seems to be a good method for keeping most fry alive. Love your videos mate, really appreciate all the info
Another great vlog Thank you so much for sharing. It's really addictive watching the amount of detail you put into allowing us to see this. You are so inspiring 🙂
Awesome dude, love it, thanks! Can't wait to get update on the mix breeds Danios and also the mixed color Neocaridina shrimp project. I am so interested to see if they really will all turn brown since i would love to make a mixed color tank also. I love your channel, your attitude and the way you explain things, very accessible and down to earth. You rule!
As a lifelong snake keeper I was thrown into the fish world kicking and screaming when I was bought a tiny tank for Xmas. In no time I had replaced it and am soaking up as much advice as possible!! THANK YOU for your brilliant channel and easy way of teaching what you have learned over many years!!
Greetings from Scotland. Another excellent video, thoroughly enjoying your breeding projects. How on earth and at what stage do you attempt a water change? If ever I'm in a position to breed fish, your channel will be my 'go to' as your method of teaching is superb. Thank you.
Fyi, when you do a full mix of longfin and gold, your going to get some fry that are going to be gold x gold and longfin x longfin. So when you look at these results keep in mind you will have an unknown percentage of normal gold and longfin fish. Next time, for a true mix I would put males of all one type with females of all one type. So all female gold with all male longfin. Great video, I had a good time!
The egg yolk is a great food in a hurry. However it can pollute the water if over used. I've found a couple small pond snails can help with anything that settles to the bottom. I used it the first time raising a surprise batch of pearl danio. Great step by step video filled with information. Keep up the good work.
Hello, I'm new to fish keeping and eventually want to breed some fishes in the future. I thought you need to acclimate the fish before you put them in a new environment and you also need a filter?
Loved this video...how easy is it to breed and maybe make money with these! And what cool little project...especially if you involve children; great learning experience.
Awesome video! Thank you. Just to mention the one with the rocks is kinda hard sometimes because they lay the eggs and they actually stick to the rock’s surface and trying to remove them will pop them.
Absolutely wonderful. Super positive video. Love seeing the new fish room come along aswell. I will start breeding some as soon as I move to Japan and get set up there (currently in Indonesia).
I'm just starting in the hobby. My first fish were long finned zebra danios....they are great. I'll try breeding them because of this video....thanks so much...fun to watch
You may want to try breeding them when the males are one type and the females the other. Do this in two separate containers when in each of the containers, the opposite species of the different types. Some genes are passed only by males, and others are passed only by females. When you do this experiment, you are likely to come out with 2 different types of fish with different traits.
Thanks for posting, I have never noticed the danio, I'm a guppy and pleco breeding guy, I have been for years. But this has got me wanting to give this a try!!.
Great video nick!. Another great project you have going on in your fish room. Congratulations on the spawns , can't wait to see more updates on them. Thanks for sharing 🙂
You are very Pro with this big tank for danios. Actually, they are small but love to swim and so long aquarium gives them great start. In nature, danios have plenty room to swim.
My first video I have watched of you. I'm yet to hear you mention you water parameters in this video. ( I might of missed that in previous videos) The water parameters you have bred these fish in are totally different, depending where you are from? I'm not being negative, just generally interested in that stuff.
I have cross bred glow fish Daniels with striped danios, got some super cool colors, dark maroon reds and forest green with two racer stripes on the sides
Awesome, it looks & sounds pretty simple but I still have a thing for goldfish & guppies I had 2 years with both & it keeps me busy. I got out of the guppies but I kept the goldfish & from the looks of them, THEY'VE GROWN !! I can't afford a bigger pond next year OH-NO 😱 No their good, their in a 110 gal Stock Tank with a 1400gph pump with a diy matten filter just got done doing it today, that took 3 days. 1 was to make the matten filter for the tank 2 was to empty the tank the goldfish were in cause I needed the spot where they were at. 3 was to set up 2nd stock tank that has the matten filter built ON TO the stock tank walls Silicone with the heater in with the pump that's behind the matten filter & have the flow pointed to 1 side for a circular turbulence to keep things moving, I don't have a video of it but I can try & get 1 done of what it looks like & it's doing.
Could you provide a timeline for breeding dabios and raising fry? How many days from fertilization to hatching? How many days on infusoria/egg before they move to baby brine shrimp? How many days before they can take prepared food?
breeding videos are very interesting!!! Would really like to see more of he Bettas you managed t spawn in last video - love Bettas!!! Be nice to see what colours you got and how they are coming along!!! I have 2 Bettas & wanted to get your advice on the best food for them - some people say all frozen and live - others say Betta flakes and pellets - frozen or live just for a treat!!!!! All so confusing!!!!! K in Scotland!!
Love your videos! But i have a question. Can I keep bettas in watter bottles at 22 degrees Celsium? 72 farenheit? Or the bettas will get sick. This is my room temperature in my country.
I absolutely love your vidioes !!. I just have 2 question. 1 for your vidio and 1 for the breeding with zebras. 1: when you are talking about breeding would it be posible the you tell what numbers you are going for how mich heat, soft or hard water and so on 😀. 2: when breeding this fish would it be posible to have alot of boxes on with water and then make a setup so you have have 10 cages and 1 big under so that all the eggs will fall down the same place :) or will the eggs stick to the side of the glass
I do wonder if that basket method works for some of the native minnows. 🤔 I need to do more research 😆. There are a couple vegtable washing bowls with basket inside a bowl and a tight fitting lid. Thinking those may work and with the color options it may be easier to see eggs and fry.
They will spawn in 18-28c
Can eggs hatch in the colder water I see dean and also you use just buckets and stuff for them no heat needed just air ?
hey man can you breed gold white clouds the same way?
That’s fast!😮
will that range of temperature work with CPDs?
Thank you for so good films this and all. I am always looking forward for new films. We are so lucky to have you willingly sharing with us you experience. Grade job.

Smart! Thanks for the tip, saves me the headache!
Can I put guppies inside a water bucket
@@SaikouKatahichi i had guppies before but that’s not my expertise. Best!
I'm on my first Betts hatch, 6 to 7 days in. I been supplementing bbs for vinegar eels. Only getting bbs every 36 hrs. Will the vinegar eels keep them sustained until they're big enough for real food?
@@killbass13 Hi there, yes the eels should. Good luck!

Insane can’t believe but
This man is a Godsend for beginner breeders.
Definitely a top fish tuber IMHO
I sustained a significant injury in November of last year and been recovering from multiple surgeries. Your channel keeps me in good spirits and I really appreciate your passion for the hobby. Thanks Rich
Get well soon

I successfully bred these guys and I also sold them. Recently I bred some blue leopard Danios and now I have thousands of frys 😃

This really is about Keeping Fish Simple!
This video come at perfect timing as I'm setting up breeding boxes for my lemon danio
Great video and explanation
The way you explain makes it more easier. I will waiting for more projects in future ✨
I was also taught to use a wire screen about 1 inch from the bottom of the tank, but we were told to leave the fish in the net for 2 mornings. But, it does depend on the number of fish we wanted to grow out. Love your channel
Love how thorough your videos are. Love having to just watch one video with all the information and not a series over a couple of weeks. Great job.

Excellent video! It's highly encouraging and makes me what to give breeding danios a go. Plus, your way of explanation makes it so easy to follow. Thanks!

You're such an inspiration! One of my favorite FishTubers❤Stay blessed💙
Like you rightly said, most would stop the video just after the eggs are hatched. Thanks for showing us how to raise them too ❤❤
Awesome dude, love it, thanks! Can't wait to get update on the mix breeds Danios and also the mixed color Neocaridina shrimp project. I love your channel, your attitude and the way you explain things, very accessible and down to earth. You rule!
Love how you covered the entire process . It’d be out of this world if you covered the part they grew to they’re full size
You've definitely convinced me to try breeding Danios someday. Looks like a lot of fun.
I just found your channel and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for, bonus points because your an Aussie ahah
well put together video can't wait for an update in a few weeks to see there size and growth :)
Hi there new sub & fellow fishkeeper from Namibia! Absolutely love these breeding tutorials so far! Keep up the great work!
Dude u are so cool
U just make it look so easy
Super nice to watch u hatch danios :)
This is awesome fish, easy to keep and easy to reproduce.

Great, thx! Why do not fishes mate in big tank, and mate in containers? How about water quality? Thx for answers 😉
I can’t wait till I grad when I’m not travelling as much , your vid’s make me wanna breed more fish
Love these projects! Thanks for the info going to try this with CPDs
The egg yolk is a great food in a hurry. However it can pollute the water if over used. I've found a couple small pond snails can help with anything that settles to the bottom. I used it the first time raising a surprise batch of pearl danio. Great step by step video filled with information. Keep up the good work.
Couldn't find a box with holes similar to the black one you have, so I'm using a salad spinner! 😎
Fascinating and a great video! I am surprised no air for the styrofoam containers?
Your doing awesome breeding tutorials! Please keep it up!
Pearl Danios are my favorites of the common ones. And White Cloud Mountain minnows! Nice method. Clever use of the lily pot.
Another amazing video. I got some new fishes after watching your neon Tetra breeding project. Keep up the great job mate
When you move the fry to the tank (pond) how do you clean it without sucking up the fry? Are they big enough to get out of the way?
I still laugh 😂 when you where rocking the Sanchez 😂 bro being back the mustachio 🎉
By far the best setup I've seen for egg scattering fish it's extremely simple almost anyone can have access to these
How clever...I have pearl danios..and they are non stop action. I absolutely love them ..I'm thinking of adding some smaller danios eventually.
Hello, I'm new to fish keeping and eventually want to breed some fishes in the future. I thought you need to acclimate the fish before you put them in a new environment and you also need a filter?
Afternoon, How long can the fry stay in boxes before water gets unhealthy? Do they need air stone....? Thanks !
Loved this video...how easy is it to breed and maybe make money with these! And what cool little project...especially if you involve children; great learning experience.
Another really interesting video with lots of information. You're lucky in Australia because you don't need heaters.
These diy breeding fish using easy to get Materials are 🔥🔥🔥keep making it

great vids i live in the uk with a daughter in oz! i have a starter fish room and keen on learning your way of spawning glowlight danios!
nice job, i just brought some betta to try out the guide you posted, love your work
I'm just starting in the hobby. My first fish were long finned zebra danios....they are great. I'll try breeding them because of this video....thanks so much...fun to watch
really enjoyed your thorough and interesting explanation, thank you.

No their good, their in a 110 gal Stock Tank
with a 1400gph pump with a diy matten filter
just got done doing it today, that took 3 days.
1 was to make the matten filter for the tank
2 was to empty the tank the goldfish were in
cause I needed the spot where they were at.
3 was to set up 2nd stock tank that has the
matten filter built ON TO the stock tank walls
Silicone with the heater in with the pump that's
behind the matten filter & have the flow pointed
to 1 side for a circular turbulence to keep things
moving, I don't have a video of it but I can
try & get 1 done of what it looks like & it's doing.
Could you provide a timeline for breeding dabios and raising fry?

2: when breeding this fish would it be posible to have alot of boxes on with water and then make a setup so you have have 10 cages and 1 big under so that all the eggs will fall down the same place :) or will the eggs stick to the side of the glass
How long will the hard boiled yolk be good for? I was thinking to refrigerate it and use it over 2-3 days maximum for the fry.
Do you grow your own java moss? Or buy it? I'd love to be able to grow it to have plenty to spare
Oh Wow..! I will my dear friend!!! You’re the best..!
i wonder if tetras like neons or glowlight tetras would breed in such a setup. assuming the water has a low TDS and PH then it should work right?
I do wonder if that basket method works for some of the native minnows. 🤔 I need to do more research 😆. There are a couple vegtable washing bowls with basket inside a bowl and a tight fitting lid. Thinking those may work and with the color options it may be easier to see eggs and fry.
I enjoyed watching the whole video! I have to try it on my end
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Nice with all the tips.. 👍👍👍
Hi! I am wondering how you know when it is time to put them in the boxes?
Best wishes from Denmark
Could you use this method for CPD’s?
Is it best to separate males and females when conditioning? I’ve them in the same tank but with mesh separating them, would that be enough?
Another great video! Thank you.
I had a nice 80gal African Cichlid tank with about 20 cichlids and a lone Leopard Danio . The Danio was the total boss of the entire tank 😎
Really helpful, Nick. Thank you!
