@@leaf1673 gate skip is just essentially getting a midair ultra with an extended hyper (which should be learned in 8c) and a wavedash (extended hyper timing but with a jump before basically) or a normal hyper

I know its been a while since the video released, but I found another (albeit slower) way to do it which I think is much easier. Someone's probably found it before but I just thought I'd share. From the green plant just before the point where the gate will trigger (right next to the fallen ship's window), you can do a normal dash-cancel instead of a hyperdash and then wavedash off of the same platform. It worked for me at least.

And yes i know that sounds crazy but, i genuenly could not beat normal core, i think my brother got the tape and beat normal farewell but i just simply could not, so i tried b side and somehow had a less harder time with that
To be honest though, unless you already knew how to do the moves you need to do this before watching this video, you shouldn't skip the barrier just because you can. It's there for a reason.

I would highly recommend dong the B sides. Do at least chapter 2 and 7, since those teach you mechanics that you need (corner boosts and jumping out the dream block) to progress, and the DLC will assume you know them. Also, the gate is there for a reason. The level gets really difficult, and the base game will not prepare you for what is to come. My advice for the B sides is to do them in order, since they progress in difficulty just like the main game. Chapter 1 B side took me 20 minutes, and chpater 7 B side took me about 2 hours.
I won the game beating story, all side b and c and after what i felt was the impossible, i decided "is time to let go..." and deleted the savefile... literally like 3 weeks after that, farewell update came out! If u it wasn't for your tutorial, i would probably had give up to playing all those levels again. thank you so much.

I garentee if you dont do the B and C sides before goinging after the gate. It will take longer for you to beat farewell than what it would have it you did all of the B and C sides. You just need experience. Don't be impatient. I completed farewell in 4k deaths as well as collecting the moon berry which took me an additional 2 hours ontop of finishibg farewell.
I've been playing the game for three days and if I can pull off this trick I could possibly save a lot of time instead of completing those nightmarish tempo block segments and scavenging every level for hearts. I'm getting the first dash down but the second isn't giving me any speed. I'll just have position myself differently until I get it right.
first dash is a *super*dash actually, super is horizontal dash into jump and hyper is diagonal down into jump, super gets the height you need to clear the stub on the ground
you know whats funny? i tried to do it for kicks and wiggles and guess what? i almost did it first try; and better than that? in barely 10min i got it down!!!!!!! i didn't know those tricks they're cool as hell! edit: i still will gather the crystal hearts i need to pass the gate "legally" but i could just hyperdash under it. as a flex. its super satisfying!
i found this skip before attempting 9 but i didnt use it and instead collected hearts i did consider doing the skip after 8a but thinking what might wait for me after the gate made me stop and instead did all b-sides (8b included) gotta say i didnt regret that decision lol (3.2k deaths total in 9)

Yeah! I still dont think that devs of this game are that stupid, and just left this skip untouchable. They almost 100% did this on purpose.

You can also do a reverse extended hyper dash from the crack in the ground and wave dash of the platform

You can do it a lot easier by starting a wavedash in the air instead of doing a hyper on the platform

Did you get the hearts on the A-sides? Each A-side stage has a hidden heart.

@@Adalynn6606 yes. Each of the chapters have a heart hidden in them. You should already have the chapter 8 heart since you get it at the end.
