  • A short video today showing the process of adding the guide and lead wires to ensure the guide self centres and the lead wires stay low and flat.

Hi Manuel. Thank you for watching. I have not filmed the first race for this car but it performed very well. I used it in a team race and won 3 out of 4 segments that I raced. Overall the car finished second just behind a team of two home drivers.

Could you ground the chassis to save the weight of the wire?

Chassis grinding is not permitted. There are lighter ways to do the wires but it is a trade off between longevity, reliability and weight.

@@CleaveTech I see how I failed to be clear. Could you solder the negative lead from the guide to the chassis and solder the negative lead from the motor to the chassis. Sort of how full size vehicles use a common -ground on the frame. It would save maybe 2 or 3 cm of wire.

      @@epluribusunum6622 , Ah, understood now.
In theory you could use the chassis as a conductor, like real cars, but in reality the chassis does touch the track braid on some occasions around the lap. This would cause short circuits and could damage your controller.
