I purchased a used GLE 2018 and I purchased a 2yr plan for the WIFI. I have to say it's works Awesome! Why? For the Kids using they're Cells, Tablets, or Laptops and it's Fast for 4G speeds it's not too bad. also works pretty good when taking long trips. By the way your Tips are Excellent. A lot don't read they're manuals, at least try searching for this guy's video very useful.

I got a recall notice for my car. After going online to check if my car was one that was recalled, the web site indicated the repairs/upgrades/recalls had already been made to the car. I was astounded. Listed were several procedures for corrections that were made using the car's Wifi and onboard computers. I thought "How convenient is that?". No appointments, no waiting, no arrangements for transportation, no worrying about not make the recall corrections, and no dealing with traffic to and from the dealer.
Yes, some electronic problems, including recalls, can be fixed via over-the-air software update.

I can speak for the 2016 model year and Mercedes me, for this, your info is inaccurate.
The service is through Verizon. This service is being shut down on 12/01/2022.
Mercedes has only offered a Verizon OBD connector which does not specify which of the current Mercedes Me would carry over. Nor does it take into account how easy a thief or valet person can just unplug it, not to mention banging my foot and or shin on it every time I get in or out of car.
According to MBUSA, it is not something that can be done via interface with the NTG system, only solution is a dongle. Certainly much closer to the nothing side of the best or nothing motto MBUSA had been known for.

Hi love your videos I have a problem with my Mercedes C class estate 350e I keep getting a message saying collision prevention assist plus inoperative it as only done this the last few days every time I switch on I have try to change it but nothing is there any way of doing this or do I have to take it to a Mercedes garage
CPA prevents accident by automatically applying the brakes from hitting the car in front of you. So there may be a few causes to malfunction, like dirty front sensor or worn brake pads.
Hello MBZ MASTER, love your channel . Want to ask your opinion whether to choose C180 exclusive 2020 or C180 avant- grade 2018? Which is better and with more options?
Here in the U.S., we don't have C180 model, neither Avantgarde, nor Exclusive edition. C-Class starts from C300 and everything is either Sport or AMG styling. So it will be hard for me to give you an advice. But I recommend to get the one with the lower, sport suspension. Because as far as styling, you can modify it yourself later, but you won't able to replace the entire suspension.
Every single feature there is in Mercedes me connect, remote start, remote unlock, Valet protect, Send2Car, vehicle tracker, speed tracker and adding a vehicle via QR code or vin number.

Set your seat position in memory. Next time when you touch the button of your memory preset, the headrest will stay in the preset position.

I just went to the website that I mentioned in the video, and chose Canada instead of U.S... Besides the lack of annual plan, I don't even see the choice for an Unlimited Data... I think they are still pissed at Montreal Canadians losing the Stanley Cup to Tampa Bay. 😂😂

On my older E Class c207 model I have never been able to view a Web page in the car even though the Mercedes Me app is connected to the car showing the usual tyre pressure , lock / unlock , location etc , etc , it even downloaded an Mercedes update automatically so it is obviously connected to the Web but when I input a Web page it shows ... page requested cannot be viewed in full . Tethering is turned on but still no joy . Any ideas ?? .
Try to go to your Mercedes Me app or website from your desktop computer. Select "Manage Services" and "top up data." The same as I demoed in this video. See if you have a data plan.
How do you unlock the sport comfort mode I try to adjust the ride height and my light are locked and the comfort sports mode don't change
Don't raise your car while driving. Not a good idea. The only time you can raise your car is when you go slow over some big bump, so you don't scrape the underbody. Sport mode actually lowers your suspension.
Hi, i am located in Caribbean with no T mobile or ATT service.
Question is can i change sim card tp that of local provider so i can get internet in car. I have mbux 2021 system in car
It should work with GSM service provider, as it already have the SIM card built-in. Check with your local MB dealership.
Some countries are outside the footprint and don't have this service...like South Africa and many others. Any idea when can this service become available?

I have the 2021 e450 and I paid for an annual Wi-Fi subscription however when I attempt to use the browser I receive a message stating insufficient memory available loading failed closing browser. T-mobile states it must be a Mercedes problem. I would like know how do I resolve this issue.
Are you sure it's T-Mobile? Connect your phone to your vehicle Wi-Fi and measure the download speed on your phone.
I had a problem with connecting other devices to the wifi it kept saying incorrect password. Then I changed the password but it did the same. Does it take a few hours? Thanks for your information by way!
I figured it out.
You have to register each device the same way you do originally. Entering the password for your account is not the correct password.

Only if you pay for service, but that model uses older slow system. The easiest way is just create a hotspot directly from your cell phone, so anything and anyone can use an internet around you.

T-Mobile works in many countries, but you have to check for the specific one with T-Mobile.

No, just need to add T-Mobile service plan. The car is already equipped with the SIM card built-in.
I have a 2017 S63 (W222) and in order to activate T-Mobile Wi-Fi in my car there needs to be the hotspot option in my system settings menu which there is not. I was issued a loaner by the dealership and there is the hotspot option in the 2022 loaner. Is there an option from the dealership to update my command unit operating system or is there some other alternative way to activate T-Mobile service in my car that I’m not aware of?
2017 S-Class has old Mbrace system, the predecessor of MercedesMe, which is not compatible with T-Mobile fast data. As an alternative, you can create a hotspot from your cell phone inside the car. Or get a T-Mobile SyncUP DRIVE module, where you can get a dedicated hotspot service, and plug it into OBD-II port under the dashboard of your car.

How do I set up my iPhone to be charged by the wireless charger in my 2021 gle450? I have a iphone7.
No setup needed. Just place your phone in the charging spot and it will charge... although I don't think iPhone 7 can be charged wirelessly. You need to get an accessory to convert, or replace for a newer phone.

Your model doesn't have "Mercedes Me Connect," as it was one of the last models to use the prior Mbrace system. Most Mbraces operated on Verizon, but you can check with any MB Dealership by your VIN number. Once you know your internet provider, you can search for the wireless data plans they offer. Meanwhile, you can create hotspots inside your car just by using your cell phone.

I have a 2019 GLA and I am having issues connecting to Wi-Fi. I paid for AT&T service but it is not working. No one can figure out the issue and it is frustrating. Would I need navigation for it to work?
You have SOS, "i", and a little wrench button. Press the "i" button and see if it connects your call to MB support. If it does, then your phone service is active, and by the way, you can ask them any question in regards to your car Wi-Fi issues right there. But AT&T Wi-Fi is kind of slow. You better create a hotspot from your cell phone, if you need fast data.

Is there any benefit of switching to Tmobile, or should I just stay on my ATT plan?
I prefer T-Mobile for the price, coverage, fast hotspot and unlimited data, but it depends where you live and how good the service in your area.

I really need help with easy entry/exit. Literally got the car last week and the seat and/or steering doesn’t go back to original position anymore when I open the door to exit. It just stays in the setting I set it to. :(

You need to turn the Easy Entry/Exit feature ON in the Settings. I have a tutorial about Mercedes recommended settings on a little different models, but your car is very similar, and it will give you idea. You can that video here: bit.ly/MBZM-VM1

I have a 2022 Mercedes GLS I purchased new less than one month. I am trying to purchase tmobile plan bit when I go to internet status to provider it brings up a ATT error page. I cannot get my car to connect to Tmobile? Any advice? Mercedes me and Tmobile are no help.
When you bought your car, the dealership had to activate the Mercedes Me service, which used to include the complimentary internet service from AT&T. Did they do it? As long as you have active AT&T service, your car won't switch to T-Mobile. Once the service expires, and you don't extend it, your car will be updated via over-the-air automatically switching your car to T-Mobile service. If you bought your car recently, it should already have T-Mobile from the beginning. Maybe dealership has to perform the software update.

I recently purchased a second hand Mercedes C180 2019, and the 'Hey Mercedes' command was working correctly when the previous owner demonstrated it to me, but after a few days, I tried the Hey Mercedes command, but there was no response ' how can I help'. How can I re-activate this voice command??
"Hey Mercedes" should work if you have Mercedes Me connect services activated, and also good reception area. But you don't need it, you can use any voice commands simply by pressing the voice button, or you can even use the voice control of your cell phone. You have a choice of 4Matic or Rear Wheel Drive. Both were available.

AWD S-Classes always have 4Matic badges on the trunk, except some AMG models like S63 and S65, which display AMG badge instead of 4Matic. If there is no badge - it means the car is RWD (unless someone physically removed it).

On that model it's much easier just setup Wi-Fi in your car using your cell phone hotspot. Don't use the original, because you have to pay for service and it's seriously outdated today.
What is the advantage of a hotspot if I don’t have bored kids in the car, or a passenger trying to get some work done? When I drive, I won’t be doing anything more than the occasional phone conversation. I can’t see why I would need it…? AT&T never had much coverage in my area, no one except Verizon, really, but T Mobile’s recent partnership hopefully remedies that. If I figure out why I should have a hotspot, is there an advantage to switching my cellphone carrier to TMobile?

Internet connectivity provides your Navigation with LIVE traffic information, support some apps, and business name search. Also, you can get some devices to play videos, UA-cam, etc., in your car, which require an internet data - like this one mbzmaster.com/multimedia-video-box/

Most Mbrace systems used to operate on Verizon network, which uses CDMA platform instead of GSM. CDMA is different and doesn't use SIM cards, and there is no Over-the-air updates. You can confirm with any local Mercedes dealership based on your VIN number. However, Verizon may offer some of their services if you contact them directly.

What are you trying to achieve? What's the point of having an internet on NTG 4.5?
@@MBZMaster there is no particular reason. just if I happen to have internet in the unit, why not do it?? to utilize all the possibilities. to watch clips on youtube, music from the internet or to upgrade softwares. all this without putting car play on the other screen.
NTG 4.5 is not capable of all that. You can stream audio and any music from your smartphone into your car - via Bluetooth. But if you want to use apps and play UA-cam videos, you'd need to get Multimedia Video Box. But it works only if your car is equipped with Apple Carplay. @@MBZMaster I can't understand why mercedes didn't make a system to read the sim card of each provider like the mobile phones and forces us to put another screen on the mobile to have internet.
Has anyone actually been successful in switching over? If yes, software version or name of dealership would be really appreciated as my car is in the shop for over a week and MB has no clue.
If you have MBUX system, it suppose to be updated automatically over-the-air, as long as you cancel your AT&T service, or let it expire without renewing. You're not suppose to force update, it will be sent over the air during the next update.
@@MBZMaster sorry, but why would a forced update of the Hermes communication box not do the trick?
I guess that would be a breach of contract between MB and some 3rd party providers, such as cell service, air time data companies, etc. There is some legal component that prevents the forced update. But when you do the over-the-air updates, the software can check if everything is legally satisfied. But I would be interested to see if your guys figure out how to do it manually. Please let us know!

Update: Success!!! From the worksheet: case escalated to 2nd level engineering (I believe in Florida, not at the dealership. MR). Per case and engineer, over the air SIM card flash did not take correctly. Agent reset system and is sending OTA SIM card flash again.
And it actually worked. Was able to add the car to daimlerna bought the data plan and tada, traffic info back on, WiFi hotspot average download 2.72MB, everything like it should.
My dealership opened a PTSS case with Mercedes engineering, case 000179150, if you experience similar issues, I would recommend pushing the dealership towards this PTSS ticket.
Interesting experience admittedly, but once they figured out what to do, it was resolved quickly. Advice: be persistent, this can be fixed.
@@mikeroth4421 Very cool! So to recap, the MB dealer didn't actually find a way to update the system. Instead, they found a way to reset the system, therefore forcing it to initiate the OTA update instantly. Is that correct?

I have a US Model 2016 S63C4 (C217) with NTG 5.0. I have Mercedes Me Connect with S-L-O-W 3G. It uses Verizon CDMA (I'm 99% sure) and I've been informed that 3G is being sundowned as of 12-1-2022. MBUSA sent me an e-mail that (tldr) says "When 3G turns off, you'll no longer have use of any of the features of Mercedes Me Connect. Sorry! We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but don't blame us for using obsolete technology, blame the service providers for getting rid of it."
No doubt this sudden loss of vehicle locator/geofence/speed limit tattle/remote start, etc. will cause an uproar and the geniuses that develop and manufacture aftermarket products like Apple Car Play / Android Auto boxes and other units like remote starters and such will come up with a kit that'll let you get your WiFi back, just like factory, fully integrated with the NTG.

T-Mobile doesn't have built-in WiFi... but Mercedes does... you just need to connect service for already built-in SIM card...
