My 14 week malinois sleeps in a room alone from the first day I got him (6 weeks old), without barking or anything. However if I leave my apartment and he doesn’t smell or hear me, he goes crazy when he wakes up. I also have to cover his kennel with a blanket, because I like to sleep with the AC on and I don’t know if it’s good or bad for him.

@@Bhimakalia2 loads it's very taxing mentally and physically for you so I definitely wouldn't recommend this dog unless you want to be a working dog because they are shitty as pets , I had thoughts about giving mine up but I'm here to learn

My wife and I are going through the puppy blues. We have an 8 week only German malinois. He’s been good during the day aside from some biting and chewing on carpet and things, which is obviously normal. We have been introducing the crate for the last week of having him and he’s beginning to do really well with it during the day! I’ve seen him put himself to bed in there for a nap and even when we close the door and cover it we check up later and find him chilling relaxed.!nights have been tough. He definitely is on the nocturnal side. We have been doing the tough love approach of having him crated in the living room (same spot as daytime). When we hear him cry once we take him outside to go to the bathroom then return him to the crate and close/cover it. If he continues to cry and bark we move him in the crate to the garage to let him tough it out. Is this a correct sort of response and will be learned to sleep quietly eventually or are we doing more harm than good?

Mine will sleep in my bed 🤣 but he'll also be crate trained.
