It was one last attempt to keep our dog before my husband got rid of him. So, I watched this video on work break, and determined to go home, walk the dogs (a female Rotti and the male Malinois). After the walk I planned to play with him after I played with our Rotti. I can't play with them together because the Malinois reaches her thrown ball before she does, takes it and runs away with it, and we never see her balls again. Lesson learned. Play time is separate for our dogs. The Malinois is almost 3 years old and we had him now for only 4 months. Since he chews up (destoys) everything that he can, including pulling all 4 hubcaps and the passenger mirror off the car and demolishing them that morning. And since I couldn't seem to train him to fetch a ball in the previous months, I bought him a rope to play tug of war. He was never interested in the rope, so this time I rubbed his dry store bought chicken treat at the tip of the rope and suddenly he was interested. That game almost cost me my life. While he tugged one end and I pulled the other thinking he's finally playing like most dogs do. At once, I noticed he looked like a vicious wolf and then I accidentally fell. That sweet, timid, sometimes obedient, extremly energetic dog attacked me! He didn't want the rope. He tore into my left arm and wouldn't stop. I tried to get away yelling at him, screaming and crawling on the ground attempting to get toy car and hopefully get in or hit h with the door. I ended up with a crushed arm and multiple lacerations and aggravated shoulder. Flesh was hanging off and some had fallen into the hospital bed. It was a long battle and I was loosing it. If I hadn't prayed and asked Jesus to help me I would not be alive now. He definitely sent help. Hopefully, my comments can be useful information. As for me the dog cost us thousands of dollars in damages in a four month period. And he almost cost me my life.
I have a mallinois rottweiller x 15 weeks old n i find she needs at least 30 mins play time even after a 2 -3 mile walk when we get home n she has a thing for chewing through the phone wire everytime i turn my bk! any advice would be appreciated thank you
My Mal chewed wires as a younger pup. I whipped her snout a few times with the wires, a little "aversion therapy", making sure it was at least a little painful, and it took a couple times, but she hasn't chewed wires since. It's meant I have to be OK with her tearing up paper here and there and making sure she has plenty of chew sticks. She also likes toilet cleaning brush heads, but carries them around rather than destroying them. So I just scold her and poked her around the nose a little with the bristles and she's decided they're not as much fun as other toys. I'm sure this is horribly wrong according to many trainers, but it works with my dog. During the times of misbehavior we would also muzzle her if if we were going out of the house for a while. She's a very good girl now and not destructive.
Thanks for this information im trying to get a malinois but im trying to watch a lot of videos and doing research first cause i want a protection dog with drive 🤣
That is definitely a Malinois. You might have best luck getting one as a puppy. But make sure someone can be with the dog most of the day and they get lots of VIGOROUS exercise. Our 7 month Mal girl is protective while also being social. Hope your outcome was a good one!
Thanks for this educational video. I have a pure breed Malinois 1 year old and I have a very spesific problem with him. In order to describe my problem ( actually this is not a problem for me but I care about him ) I wanna say that I live in Turkey. The weather condition is not soft especially in winter season ( Btw. minus 20 and 5 degrees ). He has a kennel in my backyard but he does not use it for sleeping even during the cold winter nights. I put a blanket in the kennel over and over but he got it out of the kennel everytime. I tried to punish him for that but did not work. Actually he knows what I want because when I find the blanket on the grass he escapes immediately. Later on, I gave it up and left the blanket on the grass for three months on the same point. But he still does not use the kennel. I wonder if he does not feel cold or something else ? But I saw him several times while he is trembling and I said " This is your choice buddy. Good luck ! " I am sure that he understand what I say. I taught him to obey sitting, laying down or waiting and all the times he does but the kennel issue and the blanket :)
My 2 Belgium malinois have destroyed everything in their path since they were 2 months old. They are now 7 months and have destroyed their beds, patio furniture, all the fruit trees and have dug holes everywhere. I reprimand them and tell them no but they repeatedly do the same destructive behaviors.

Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. They are very helpful and generous of you.
We couldn't make them without people like you watching so thank you!
Are you going to make anymore videos?
Looks like most are pretty old
Where can we get one of these hats? :)

How did this turn out? Still have the dog? What solution finally worked? Crate at night?

Hopefully our video has helped shed some light on why this might be happened and how to help tackle it
