A LOVELY 10K followed by a BACKYARD ULTRA?! This isn't your normal Sunday! - Al Pepper Runs

- After a high mileage weekend at The Lap, Windermere, this weekend saw me taking things a bit easier... but no less fun! A pleasant parkrun on Saturday followed by an afternoon at the Greener Miles Cow Shed gave way to a super Sunday including the Run Nation Matfen 10k and... a return to the Cow Shed to watch the runners hit that magic 100 mile mark!
This instalment may be light on the adventure stakes but it's hopefully no less entertaining because of it! I've got another easy weekend coming up before some big adventures in October. New ultra Marathons? Major half marathons? A return to Scotland? It's all coming up!
ENJOY!

Well done Al and a nice touch popping into the cowshed. I was sitting watching the live tracking all weekend 😄
Another great video as always - thanks for capturing those moments!
I love the message at 5:58 - I’ve played lots of other sports throughout my youth and nothing even remotely compares to the running community!
@@kieron_day thanks Kieron! Yeah, I agree, the running community seems particularly good to one another! Even spectating the Cow Shed and being there to support you guys for a few hours made me feel good too! You can almost share in other people’s successes. It’s contagious!
Love it mate. Even seen myself going up that killer hill!
@@markcowell4378 thanks Mark! I had no idea it would be that hilly!
Al you need to try Lidls double chocolate pain au chocolat, unreal!
@@Cam-peel92 double chocolate?! I will make it my mission to try one of these ASAP!
You've certainly got some miles in al.great video.i don't fancy a back yard ultra yet but you never know.are you running kielder next month.
@@paulsummerly8203 I’m not I’m afraid! Never ran it as it’s always clashed with something else. Looks like a great weekend though so I might get it in the diary early for next year!
Just finished my evening 10k run get home and see notification for this video we suffer together 🤣
@@boltgunvids haha, how was it? The dark nights are setting in already!
Good to see ya again Al! Catch ya at Hadrians wall Half 🤜🏻🏃♂️
@@deanconley9331 you too Dean! Although maybe not at Hadrian’s Wall… I think I might be double booked unfortunately!
@AlPepperRuns no worries mate, clearly I'll not be getting a PB then without my good luck charm there 😢😂
Sisyphus, so fitting to the runner I would say. Fair play mate.
@@jasonfields9678 thanks Jason, I’m glad I got his name right! I was confident… but not entirely confident!
What was the winning lap distance?
@@belwynne1386 35 miles! So another 10 hours or so after we left. Incredible!
Make that 35 laps, so 146 miles 😂
Plus I somehow did the equivalent of an extra lap during the recovery window, so hit the 150 milestone 💪🏼
Thanks so much for coming down and lifting our spirits!
0:27 im distraught that you never asked if that was the winning number. :P
@@kevinscott4938 haha, I don’t know why I didn’t! Then it was too late and I thought ‘argh, I forgot to ask!’
@@AlPepperRuns Im sure the manic hoards of little peppers that watch will let you off (just this one time :P) Awesome video as ever, was almost in tears myself when that lass crossed the 100 mile mark!!!
you should flash up the answer/image to all those random questions you ask during the runs... coz "who that greek fella is" will plague me now!!!
Nice pal
