- The UM stable made a minor splash in the Indian markets when they launched their rather muscular bikes about a year back.
The UM Renegade Commando is something that has always captured my fancy and I got to ride this bike around recently. As I took it for a spin on a rather cold morning in Bangalore, the Renegade Commando sure fired up in a jiffy and handled everything that I threw at it with aplomb.

When I was planning to buy my new bike my choices were mojo, renegade commando, thunder bird and Himalayan. Eventually bought the Himalayan. Unfortunate there was not even a test ride (commando) bike available either the showroom. Secondly the service network is also poor. If you can, please do comparison videos 👍🏼

I saw this bike at a show in Prague a couple of weeks ago. It looked budget in fit and finish, but I liked it. If I was a beginner looking for a cool looking ride as my first bike, I would consider this.

Don't buy um bikes,Um parts are made in China, they are assembled in india and the parts are made of very cheap quality, in india the cost of um renegade commando is nearly 2lakhs but where as in China it is just 50,000.you can think how they are cheating us,"More Importantly it is not a US Based company it has no headquarters in US"

I call BS on this review. The thing is a damn joke. Starts with the claim that they're an "American Manufacturer" when they're neither from the US nor a manufacturer. They're sub standard. Had you ridden this thing for a couple of hours, I'm sure the review would have ended.

Hai bro I need a clarification regarding helmet certification. In some helmets the certification is being embossed or painted. Whereas in some helmets the certification is being in silver color sticker format...... People are saying helmets having embossed or painted certification are highly safer than sticker. Is it true? Because I am planning to buy SMK Twister helmet . But it has sticker form of certification only. I am really confused whether to buy it or not. So can you please replay and clarify.

I World live to know how much the Renegade COMMANDO 125 Costs in € in Europe - i couldnt find IT anywhere - just the price in pesos : ~ 185.000 PESOS!!! BUT HOW MUCH IT COSTS HERE IN EUROPE?! I'm considering either this or the new RE Interceptor. Since it's been a year now... is this still worthy? How does it compare with the interceptor?
Saifur Rahman Mohsin the interceptor is way better and infinitely more value for money .. this is actually a terrible motorcycle made by Chinese companies and falsely marketed as a us company (all they have in the us is a registration that’s it !!!! Not even an office .. absolutely no sales )
Hey man, I drove the interceptor and agree that it’s indeed a way better motorcycle. And then I rode the new BS4 based bikes from RE-a classic and thunderbird X. Then I rode this bike and found that it is better than the RE bikes (with the exception of the interceptor, which is indeed better). It’s been almost 6 weeks since I bought this bike (sports s one) and I have ascertained the following: 1. This bike is better than most RE bikes except the interceptor and above (I’ve owned a RE classic really old model as well as driven the 2017 model for a month because I did favour for a friend, and he gave his bike for a month to return the favour). 2. I was also skeptical because of too many internet reviews that this bike is chinese and fake-I don’t know if that’s true till date but the salesperson told me that the engine is american and the rest is from india.. he also mentioned they have a headquarters somewhere in Miami, US. That doesn’t even matter much to me because when I go out for a ride everyone looks at the bike like it’s american/it has stickers which say made in USA and most definitely looks like one and handles really well. 3. The bike is surely performant. It has no vibrations at higher speeds, way better handling than the RE bikes. I too felt there are one or 2 negative points but overall it’s worthwhile. Just make sure to go for carb one and not EFI, as the latter isn’t that great apparently-as per the dealer’s advice. Based on my usage I am now certain this is no chinese bike. And if it is, it’s the equivalent of how OnePlus are chinese phones.
There was a lot of skepticism initially when I bought the bike... even a day after I bought it. I had this same feeling 8 years ago when I got my first iPhone 4 and people told me it’s overpriced garbage and not worth it’s salt but they were wrong about that as well. I asked them a simple thing-have they owned one and they said No... so I went for it. I had the same experience with this bike. Do test it out sometime, it’s actually a good bike. There are negatives, I give you that-the turning radius is low but that’s expected for a cruiser that big, and the under storage space could have a clip to access rather than a screw, and the people who sell and service could be better. But besides that, I believe it’s an excellent bike. I met an owner of the commando on my first long trip last month. Got a positive review from him too as he owned it for a year. So I’m no longer skeptic about it. Thanks anyway for responding.

I used to really love cruiser designs but for some reason these days I get a headache looking at low power cruiser bikes like these.... I agree this is a beautiful bike but why would someone want to spend that money on a motorcycle which has such little power? I was hell-bent on buying this bike a few months ago but now I am a die hard naked bike fan and I have 4 naked bikes lol.

Ketan Arora Right you are. Gixxer sf has a very beautiful design however, the only faired bike I would consider more attractive than it's naked rivals.
First of all this isn't cruiser as the state of tune for this engine is rather dporty than subtle. Second, this is really the worst thing Mone y can buy. My friend bought it few months back and the chain sprocket has come out completely. No one in us have ever heard about this bike.
Instead of those naked shits... You could spend your money on power cruisers.

The Savant Life there is one problem with the bike the engine gets heated soon wht to do with Tht or is there any lubricant to be added to cool the engine
heating is normal. just check the radiator fans works well. also use mud flap at front tyre for saving raditor from muds and petals

I have a renegade commando 300 too. I've had it since it's release in India. Now I'm facing problems with the accelerator cable. When i turn mai handles totally towards the right.
The bike starts accelerating automatically and it's really scary while banking. Well i don't know if you still have it. But if you have any idea if i can get it serviced with a new accelerator cable it would be really helpful for me
The cables get sticky somewhere or the acceleration handle. So because is to take apart the acceleration handle and put some grease or oil 👍

If possible Post long-time reviews of the bikes which would be very helpful to make a decision. New bikes are always good. Long-term reviews makes sense than the new one.

Actually it was more fun to hear about childhood memories and actually see that place while riding a motorcycle and also chatting about it. This is why we love our bikes. Like a friend. That part was way more than just a bike review.
