- We're catching a mess of bluegill and crappie, and then heading over to the grill to cook up a nice lunch!

Good looking fish. I like to scramble bluegill fillets and eggs together with butter in the same skillet. Bluegill done @145°F, egg whites set @150°F, egg yolks set @165°F. Serve with buttered biscuits and blackberry jam.

finally someone who says crappie and not "crap pys"
I built a pond on my place. 5 acres. Conservation stocked it. I found, harvest all the glue gill. throw the croppie and bass back. go to the bait shop and buy them out of minnows.
Today. we keep all the blue gill. Cappie that meet state lake limits we keep. and ww are catching decent large mouth. I throw them back.
off to buy some more minnows,
I hate to ask the forbidden question. But I love blue gill and was hoping you'd tell me where this is at.

I've caught several large crappie out of half acre ponds, so 6 or 7 acre ponds definitely have no problem holding good crappie
